SIP client to IAXTel 800/888/877/866 dialing thru Asterisk
Through my Asterisk server, I am trying to use IAXTel to dial 800-type numbers (yes, I know I can do the same thing with FWD and others via SIP, but I wanted to play with IAX a little). It appears I'm running into some sort of a codec mismatch or something because it's not working right. The SIP client is a SPA-3000. In iax.conf, I have something like the following: [General]

spa-3000 review?
Since the 3000 has been out for a little while, has anyone done a review of the product? (couldn't find anything on google for wiki). Can the fxo and fxs ports be used as two independent channels? Is it really read for prime time? Etc. Rich

Blind Call Transfer using Sipura 3000 + asterisk
Hi List, I hope this setup must be done by our astersik users.. I am using Sipura 3000 to receive PSTN calls and forward those calls to asterisk for voice processing and after that, I am transferring call to extension through FXS port on SPA 3000. Currently, media of call is trombone through asterisk. i.e achieving blind transfers on asterisk with SPA 3000. Is it possible to stop trombone

[problem in `xl_cmdimpl.c`] Why pid return by fork() in parent process is not the same with pid returned by getpid()?
Hi all, In xen-4.1.2/tools/libxl/xl_cmdimpl.c : create_domain(), it starts up a child daemon process waiting for the domain death, there are several lines echo the child pid as follows: 1592 if (child1) { /*it''s in the parent*/ 1593 printf("Daemon running with PID %d\n", child1); /**it''s in the child/ 1643

Vonage a provider?
I am new to the mailing list, but I am very interested in running my small home business office phone system using Asterisk. However, Broadvoice, a VoIP provider of choice based on my research, is not available in my area. I currently use Vonage VoIP. Their website mentions nothing about being able to link to Asterisk. I was wondering if any US subscribers have been able to configure Vonage

OpenBSD TFTPD remap rules
Hi! I am using OpenBSD 4.4 with the build-in TFTP-Daemon for PXE. Distributing OpenBSD works fine. Now I want to distribute OpenBSD and WinPE. I've installed PXELinux 3.72 and configured it. Works also fine for PXELinux and distributing OpenBSD. To distribute WinPE I need a remap rule (\ -> /) for the TFTP-Daemon. I've created a file /etc/tftpd.remap with the following rule: rgG \\ /

Has anyone tried using a Sipura-3000 as an FXO device for *?
I am considering using Sipura-3000s as FXO devices for my * system. Has anyone tried them in that configuration? They interest me because they need no PCI slots and therefore no drivers. I would much prefer not to have any special kernel requirements for my system. /carmi

list assignment syntax?
Dear R wizards: is there a clean way to assign to elements in a list? what I would like to do, in pseudo R+perl notation is f <- function(a,b) list(a+b,a-b) (c,d) <- f(1,2) and have c be assigned 1+2 and d be assigned 1-2. right now, I use the clunky x <- f(1,2) c <- x[[1]] d <- x[[2]] rm(x) which seems awful. is there a nicer syntax? regards, /iaw ---- Ivo Welch

multicore by(), like mclapply?
dear r experts---Is there a multicore equivalent of by(), just like mclapply() is the multicore equivalent of lapply()? if not, is there a fast way to convert a data.table into a list based on a column that lapply and mclapply can consume? advice appreciated...as always. regards, /iaw ---- Ivo Welch (ivo.welch at gmail.com)

categorized complete list of R commands?
every time I read the R release notes for the next release, I see many functions that I had forgotten about and many functions that I never knew existed to begin with. (who knew there were bibtex facilities in R? obviously, everyone except me.) I wonder whether there is a complete list of all R commands (incl the standard packages) somewhere, preferably each with its one-liner AND

fast lm se?
dear R experts---I am using the coef() function to pick off the coefficients from an lm() object. alas, I also need the standard errors and I need them fast. I know I can do a "summary()" on the object and pick them off this way, but this computes other stuff I do not need. Or, I can compute (X' X)^(-1) s^2 myself. Has someone written a fast se() function? incidentally, I think

different interface to by (tapply)?
dear R experts: has someone written a function that returns the results of by() as a data frame? ??of course, this can work only if the output of the function that is an argument to by() is a numerical vector. presumably, what is now names(byobject) would become a column in the data frame, and the by object's list elements would become columns. it's a little bit like flattening the by()
