Watchguard Firebox 1000 and Asterisk
Has any had any experiences with Watchguard Firebox 1000 and Asterisk. I have asterisk on public side and phones on the private side. I am able to get the phones to register and make outbound calls but the inbound calls are intermittent. I have NAT enable in asterisk and on the Cisco 7960. Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks

Watchguard Firebox 1000 woes
We are trying to setup a sip connection behind a Watchguard Firebox 1000 and it is simply put...not working. The ports are all forwarded but the packets are not going out. It is as if the firewall simply ignores SIP packets. Has anyone seen this or have any idea what the issue could be? Watchguard so far has been of zero help. I have two ISP''s (with separate routing tables), two DMZ''s, at least one VPN to a remote office, and a local trusted network. The configuration will look like: +----------------+ | | net0 ----------+ eth1

Problems installing Watchguard Firebox System software in wine (installshield)
Hello, I am trying to use WINE (20050725-r1 on Gentoo Linux) to install/run Watchguard's Firebox Management Software (WFS). The WFS installer uses an installshield installer of course.. I've been looking thru the FAQ, wiki, etc and have found info about DCOM98 needing to be installed. I've tried a bunch of things so far, and here's where I stand: First, I tried getting

Port 631 closed, not hidden
I have the firewall turned on my CentOS 5 box, but GRC is reporting that 631 is closed instead of stealthed. If the firewall isn't configured to allow that, then why might that be happening? Miark

want to ban XP Home Edition
Just for sake of curiosity: Is that possible ? I'd like to support XP Pro *only* and to ban any other Windows OS (no 2000 server or 2003 server machines in here). Samba works in domain mode with Ldap backend. Cheers, -- Michal Kurowski perl -e '$_=q#: 13_2: 12/o{>: 8_4) (_4: 6/2^-2; 3;-2^\2: 5/7\_/\7: 12m m::#; y#:#\n#;s#(\D)(\d+)#$1x$2#ge;print'

Shields-Up Scan of Shorewall Firewall
Guys, After i got the port forwarding and everything else working as per my previous post, i ran a shields-up scan from grc.com on the firewall, i.e. a scan of the external interface. I m a little suprised at the results. On the firewall i have postfix running ( smtp port 26 ), openssh ( ssh port 22) and port forwarding of port 85 (on the firewall ) to an internal host. The Shields-Up scan

Security advice, please
My LAN is behind a Netgear router, which does NAT. On the CentOS server I have fail2ban running. This morning my router reported 3 different IPs attempting to send UDP packets to port 38950, Since each address is only seen 4-5 times, I presume that fail2ban took over after that. GRC reports that ports are stealthed (port 143 was open, but is now closed), but then: Unsolicited Packets:

Anyone used WatchGuard SIP ALG?
Has anyone here used Asterisk inside a WatchGuard firewall, talking via the WatchGuard SIP Application Layer Gateway to an outside SIP service? I have a customer doing just that, and I am 100% convinced there is a bug in the ALG regarding the media port number it inserts into the SDP when it rewrites it. However, either they or WatchGuard will not accept there is a bug, despite my very detailed

quantic phenomena in migrations
I have an application with 15 migrations under version control. In a Mac and and in a Windows, a rake migrate from scratch runs them all just fine. But in a different Windows machine rake migrate stops after migration 3 for no apparent reason. --trace seems normal. No error is reported. Both Windows are XP SP2. They all have the same svn revision and Rails-related software, database is
