! I just installed Centos 4.1 (i386) on one of my test drives. When ever I try to logout of a Gnome session, it seems to hang but if I wait about 4-5 minutes it will usually logout, although I have had it hang a couple of times (never logs out). When I do an ALT-TAB-F1, and log in as 'root', I can see the following processes still hanging around after Gnome finally does logout:

Can I upgrade my Centos 4.1 system with the 4.2 ISO install disc? If so, how do I do it? It seams to want to do a full (i.e. format, wipe out old) install over everything. The KDE screen savers will only blank out the screen though most of them test ok when you hit the test button in the Control Center. The Gnome screen savers work ok. My system has a Radeon 9200SE video card and I have a ViewSonic A70f monitor. Does anyone have a fix for this?

I just tried the Centos 5 Live CD on my Thinkpad T41. It works pretty good but did not recognize my Laptop's modem or WiFi (I guess no surprise there). I do have a CardBus modem that is not a Win-modem that I could try when I get home. I did not see anyway to configure a PPP dialup call. Hi All, The other thing we have noticed after booting is, screen is completely blank. GUI is not visible on attached monitor. We tried switching between different terminals using (Ctl+Alt+F1-12). F2-6 are showing command line terminals but, others are returning blank screen only. It appears that, there is some problem with GUI/gnome. Is there any way to fix this? Please help.
