"New" TDM cards--driver won't load
I've searched the site with google, but can't think of the magic words I
guess.
I got a "swap out" TDM30 today to replace my buzzy one.
I swapped it with the older one, swapped out the FXS modules, hooked it
up to the computer's power supply, and booted, but the wcfxs driver
won't load--it gives me the standard "Cannot init module" types of
errors that

Wrong voicemail after transfer?
I'm using a modified "default config" file for extensions.conf, the one
that uses macro-stdexten to handle the stations.
We use a TDM30 card for our stations.
When a call that has been rung in using that macro transfers the call
things work just fine as far as the "other" instrument ringing.
But once the ring timeout has expired, the call then drops into the

I am terribly sorry to bother the list with such generic and bizarre

Leave one call to pick up another?
Maybe I'm an idiot and this is elementary to everyone but me. Maybe
it's not a function of asterisk. It's driving me nuts.
When I'm on a call and another one comes in for me, in general I *don't*
want to put the current call on hold and pick up; I almost always want
to drop the current call ("Talk to you later. I've got another call.")
and pick up the

Hangup Detection and BUSYDETECT_MARTIN
Hello,
I've got the following configuration:
2 X101Ps
Asterisk built with BUSYDETECT_MARTIN
busydetect=yes
busycount=10
callprogress=yes
signalling = fxs_ks
With this setup, the best I can do is get voicemail with 17 to 19 seconds of
silence tacked on at the end. Ideally, I'd like at most 2-5 seconds. Has
anyone had any success with this?
It seems that hangups are indeed detected,

Spurious ring burst on TDM400 FXS port
G'day all,
A weird problem has just started happening with my * server, and I've
googled myself stupid looking for help. My system is latest CVS, a
TDM400P with two FXS modules, two X101Ps, and VoIP connections (SIP, SCCP
& IAX2).
My wife complained about her extension (analogue, on one of the TDM400
ports) being dead -- no dialtone. I had to shut down *, then unload and
reload the

BMDP and SAS (was R in clinical trials)
I used both BMDP and SAS in my earlier years, side by side. At that
time the BMDP statistical methods were much more mature and
comprehensive: we treated them as the standard when the two packages
disagreed. (It was a BMDP manual that clearly explained to me what the
hypothesis of "Yate's weighted mean test" is, something SAS decided to
call "type III" and eternally

Bachelor's Thesis on Ruby on Rails
Hey guys,
Does anyone has an idea for what one can do for a bachelor''s thesis on Ruby
on Rails? Possibly focusing on design patterns/benchmarking it against J2EE
and stuff like this?
Will be eternally grateful if anyone can contribute any idea!
Regards
Steve

Free 'Locked up' Channels
Hi All,
Asterisk 1.4.25.1 .22 .29 - pretty much every Asterisk install we have out there exhibits this.

Need to replicate Boltzman Signmodial Curve fit from Graph Pad
Hello useRs (please don't kill me),
I've fairly new to R having only a few months of playing around with R.
What little I've learned has been extremely useful.
If someone could point me as to how to replicate the Boltzman Sigmodial
curve fit as provided by Graphpad software I'd be eternally grateful.
Where we currently use Graphpad for only this one function,its seems

LDAP/PDC migration to Samba4
Greetings, All!
I'm planning a migration to Samba 4 (for a long time, I admit, but I only
recently got a promise of funds for a new server... whew...), but I'm a little
in the dark on how to arrange whole process.
Right now, the situation is imagined as follows:
Server A: LDAP/PDC/Samba3/NAT/DHCP/BIND/everything else.
Server B: New installation, x86_64, Samba4, would-be-replacement for

Unfortunately I have had no success;
and I have found no document which simply tells me
what changes I need to make to which files,
and what other action I have to take.
I'm running CentOS-7 on my home-server, and have postfix + dovecot

Issue with postscript figures using WinAnsi encoding

I've hit a bump in writing postscript files with special characters in
the WinAnsi encoding on a windows machine.
Here's some sample code:

Samba 3 doesn't compile - the saga continues...
Please see my post from 24 hours ago for the background on my efforts to get
Samba to run.
I received instructions to modify include/includes.h to change the #include
<compat.h> to #include <compat_ap.h>. Needless to say, this solved nothing
other than a bunch of harmless warnings. It also caused a different warning to
spew forth eternally from gcc, and more importantly, it

I'm not sure it can even be done. . . .

Roaming profiles
Hi people. Im in need of help as far as roaming profiles are concerned.
Allow me as I know this issue has been discussed timelessly but let me just

My Samba + Ldap setup is fine and XP users can authenticate alright. Im
using samba 3.0.28. However when logging in for the first time, they get the
message;
Windows cannot locate a server copy....
