OT recommend an IAX phone or IAX softphone+USB handset?
Hi Yall,
I would love to put a very compact phone on my wife's desk at work...
Ideally this would be a very small IAX phone with 2 RJ-45's so I could
drop it in without much notice and only have to beg for 1 port from the
sysadmin.
I have looked around and I don't see such an item in existence? What I
would love is a "home" phone looking handset (wired is fine), which

CentOS 6 gcc is a bit old
gcc (GCC) 4.4.7 20120313 (Red Hat 4.4.7-11) is a bit old.
There have been major changes since then.
I'd like a newer version.
If I have to, I expect that I can install from source.
I'd rather not.
Is there a CentOS 6-compatible repository
from which I can get a newer version?
Does a standard CentOS 7 repository have a newer version?

New Windows IAX Client
Announcing a new Windows-based IAX/IAX2 client. Please download it and
give it a try. Let me know about any bugs, and any missing features. I
have yet to come up with a catchy name for it, so at this point it calls
itself IAX Phone. (Suggestions? Non-derogatory suggestions,
preferably).

understand SIP and Asterisk and will run with Linux?
I have found tons of them, but they are mainly only supported in Windows
environment.
I would like to set up new phone system in our company that would be
based on asterisk acting as PBX and SIP.
If you have any suggestions, please let me know. Any

Best USB Handset and Softphone Combination
I have a client that want to try the softphone with USB handsets route
to see if hardphones will even be needed. I always push for hardphones
(Polycom) so I am not sure about softphones or USB handsets.
This is going to be for a 300+ seat call center onsite and many offsite,
I plan on using OpenVPN for the offsite machines.
Any advice on softphones, handsets, or practical experience with

Help needed with IAX behind NAT
Hi All,
I know, IAX is NAT friendly, but... I have a problem running gnophone from a
box behind NAT firewall.
I can register gnophone with * through NAT, but when I try to make a call it
instantly disconnects. CLI
iax show peers command tells me that peer is unreachable. However this peer
is registred. Gnophone also tells me that it is registred.
It seems that registration handshake has

Hi,
There is someone on this list who has the specification for the IPW driver?
I want to provide full support for it in DIAX Phone, but Actiontec does not
answer to my mails.
There is any windows driver available for the Digium's S100U USB interface?
Anyone knows if it can provide full functionality for the connected phone,
like callerid, callwaiting callerid, message indication, ring,

I'm new to asterisk and need some help.
I have two computers. Each computer has a Wildcard X100P and a NIC. I have
an incoming telephone line going to the "line" connector, and an analog
phone connected to the phone port.
I have everything installed, but I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do next.
How do I go about calling one phone from the other?

IAX softphone issues
Hi Folks,
I'm trying to get DIAX to work as an IAX soft phone and I'm having some
issues.
Outbound calls from the phone to the rest of the world are fine. It's
just that I can't get the inbound to work.
I have a stanza in my extensions.conf that reads;
exten=>_3410,1,Dial(IAX2/3444@default|20)
And a stanza in my iax.conf that reads
[3444]
type=friend
context=default

I couldn't find any http://www.voip-info.org/wiki-VOIP+Phones
The best choice should be dIAX, but it is only GSM.

Recommended IAX softphone.
After having been toying around with asterisk and various VoIP stuff
for a couple of weeks now, I want to recommend a preferred protocol
and softphone to friends and family for calling me up.
As SIP and H323 are such a mess to set up in NATed environments, the
only reasonable protocol option right now seems to be IAX.
After looking at http://www.voip-info.org/wiki-Asterisk+IAX+clients

IAX/SIP Softphone with G729
Subject says it all. We are looking for an open source IAX or SIP softphone
that can handle multiple lines and have G729 abilities. We don't mind paying
a few bucks for the 729 license. We need open source so we can co-brand.
Right now our only solution is to buy $5000 worth of XTen Pro; then we get
co-branding and 729. But if we can save $5000, all the better.

IAX softphone on WinCE/PocketPC
Hi,
Is anyone aware of an IAX client that's made for the Windows CE/Pocket PC
platform? Or even the Palm platform for that matter.
Thanks.

Three-way calling over SIP and IAX using softphone
Hi guys,
Does anyone know of a way where I can bring a third person in on my
conversation. Say I'm on a IAX or SIP call from a softphone DIAX or IAXCOMM
and am speaking to someone now I want to quickly bring another SIP or IAX
extension into this call so the three of us can speak to each other.
I know I could do this by transfering the first person into a meetme then
calling the second
