Zultys 4x4 or 4x5 ip phones?
Does anyone on-list use the Zultys 4x4 or 4x5 ip phones? I'd like to hear some opinion before I buy a few. I'm especially interested in the PSTN interface on the 4x5. Does it relay to * for VM when an incomming call is not answered by the phone? Thanks, Michael -- Michael Graves mgraves@pixelpower.com Sr. Product Specialist

Zultys 4x4 or 4x5
Hi All, A friend has asked me to get a new Zultys 4x5 working with his * server. I've been over the web gui but don't see where all the registration info gets entered in the phone. Is there someone on-list who has Zultys phones and can advise me as to their setup? The manufacturers docs are useless. Thanks, Michael -- Michael Graves mgraves@pixelpower.com Sr.

Soft keys and transfer problem on Sayson 480i
I have a strange problem with my Sayson 480i IP phone. If I press the Transfer button and then dial extension 200 to try to transfer the call, the Sayson apparently is treating the 200 as the last part of an IP address, and the call fails. As soon as I enter 200 and press Dial, I see an IP address of the form x.y.z.200 show up on the display. How do I get the phone to treat the dial string as an

Sayson 480i Fails to Re-register?
We have a customer with a handful of Sayson/Aastra 480i phones behind a Juniper Networks Netscreen firewall registering with our hosted PBX service. The Netscreen monitors the REGISTER messages and only keeps the reverse mapping open for the duration of the registration period. It appears that every so often the Sayson does not send out another REGISTER message after the registration has expired

Current viewpoints on the Sayson/Aastra 480i
I have read the user reports on the Aastra 480i SIP phones, but the last report is from October, and the advice was to stay away from these units. I was looking at the cisco 79XX series or the SPA-941's, but they don't have backlit displays. I also like POE support so I don't have to run multiple wires to the phones and makes for a neater look. I dislike the looks of the SNOM

Voip as a secure service?
Hi All, I was just reading through Info Week while on a flight and happened upon an brief piece about a new VOIP security intiative worked up by a handful of the usual suspects; Alcatel, SMU, NIST, Symantec, etc. All of this begs the question of can't we get just do this as a user community? I understand that the Zultys phone, which I own several, support AES encryption of the RTP stream.

Zultys phones with encryption
Hi All, Does anyone on-list have experience with the Zultys 4x4 and 4x5 phones with AES encryption? Does this work well with *? I imagine that it would work as long as * doesn't have to decode the stream. What are the implications for calls going to voicemail or MeetMe? I'd pondering installing the 4x5, especially if Zultys can make the on-board FXO port available to * as well as a

Does anyone on-list have any advice about the version 2.2 firmware for the Zultys 4x5 phone? It has a new "gateway" mode that is supposed to direct calls on the analogue line to the PBX for VM, etc. Zultys has not yet presented any docs, and the keep refering me to the reseller who doesn't know anything about t at all. Aastra/Sayson 480i
I'm currently testing these phones and so far I'm very pleased with them. I'm using the SIP image (Version: 1.0.0.23 Release: 0032-01-A4). There are a few issues with the speaker not working properly when you dial out or pick a call but this is a known issue and will be hashed out in the next release. I've been working with the developers at Sayson and they have been very

Aastra phones?
Sorry for being a little off topic, but I'mconsidering a few new phones for my Asterisk installation. I have a mix of Polycom 500/600s and an Aastra 480i CT. I'm considering adding a couple of Aastra 57i or 57i CT. Does anyone here have experience with the 480i CT and the newer 57i CT? I'm curious as to the real differences. Hello All, I'm about 1/2 way through building an * system for home office. I have the server built, * installed, but I'm waiting for a Grandstream phone to arrive to have a reliable client. Using IAXTel to dial FWD
Hi All, Is this working for any of you? We're supposed to be able to dial FWD accounts through IAXTel by dialing 170099+FWD number. I don't ever seem to be able to do this even though I can dial 800 numbers through IAXTel. Michael -- Michael Graves mgraves@pixelpower.com Sr. Product Specialist www.pixelpower.com Pixel Power Inc.

Stopping reinvite with IAX2?
Hi All, I'm using DISA on my * server to avoid overseas toll charges when making calls to Western Europe from my cell phone. I have DISA working with a DID from a VoicePulse Connect account. The outgoing call to Europe is also made via Voicepulse Connect. I see that the IAX media path is bridging the inbound call to the outbound call so that the media stream entirely bypasses my server once
