CALLERIDNUM not passed over?
When a user dials 999 he is always asked for the mailbox and has to enter his mailbox
number and password. As I understand this shouldn't happen because the CALLERIDNUM is
passed over to VoicemailMain. It's annoying to have to enter the number everytime ...
The voice mail configuration is read from MySQL. We are using the CVS version from a few
days ago.

Programming with libiax2
Hi everyone,
I am considering writing some code using libiax2. Are there any good
resources to get started with this? Books? Sites?
Thanks

Compiling libiax2 on windows
Hi! I'm trying to compile libiax2 on windows using
msvc6.
In the libiax2\src\iax.c file, line 670, I'm getting
a:
error C2229: struct "__unnamed" has an illegal
zero-sized array
It seems to complain due to the last member of
iax_frame. Does anybody knows what should I do to make
it compile?
FWIW, it compiles fine using gcc on cygwin.
Thank you in advance for any tips!

Users in MySQL
I've just compilied th latest CVS of * with USE_MYSQL_FRIENDS enabled ("1"). During
startup * tells me that it connects to the db, so this should be fine.
Nevertheless I don't see any users from the db when I run "sip show users" or "iax2 show
users" although I configured some.
It is also not possible to call them.
Any hints?

New Firefly version
As Promised, I've released a new version of Firefly (ver 1.8) with IAX &
SIP support back in.
Get it from Virbiage site or here's the direct link
http://www.virbiage.com/firefly/download/firefly-thirdparty.exe
If it crashes on startup, export your Firefly tree from the registry
(current user -> software -> firefly), then delete tree from your
registry. If that fixes it, send

Announcing IAXCLIENT v0.02 A cross-platform IAX client.
Asterisk-people,
Some of you may have heard that we were working on a simple,
cross-platform IAX client library called "iaxclient".
We've pretty much been "on vacation" with the project for a while,
but recently have made some progress, and now have the library working
across platforms, and a simple test client called "testcall", up and
running on 3

Virbiage Phones - Vapourware??
Has anyone heard any more info about the Virbiage FT201 VoIP phones?
About 3 months ago I was told they were 6 weeks away, about 3 weeks ago I was told they were 2 weeks away, and now I am told they are 2 months away again! Are they EVER going to arrive? Can anyone shed some light on this?

Configuring Firefly Network in *
I did get it to work, and can place and receive calls through the Firefly
network via *.
Compared to iaxtel or FWD, there is a significantly higher amount of
latency, but it is workable.
For some reason, this needed to be the last entry in my iax.conf or it
would try to authenticate with a different user ID when receiving calls
(and obviously would fail.

Virbiage FT201 IAX Hard Phone
Does anyone have any recent news on the Virbiage FT201 IAX Hardphone?
I'd *really really* like to deploy these phones instead of SIP
hardphones, and I can't help but wonder if I'm going to shoot myself in
the foot (or another sensitive area) by deploying a ton of SIP phones
just to find the IAX Hardphones were released a week later...
Thanks,

I'm implementing a Java-based IVR server (and yes, I know Asterisk does
IVR, and no, it's not flexible enough to do what I want and no, it
doesn't integrate well with the Java

Just an FYI FireFly no longer works with anything but the FireFly network.
No more SIP, No more IAX. It was a damn good IAX client... too bad its crap

IAX2 Max Retries dropped calls Firefly
Hi
We've recently set up and are using with success 1.0.7 using a Junghanns
quadbri card to BRI ISDN, and Firefly with IAX2 protocol as softphones Works
very well, however we're getting cases where sometimes the call just drops.
>From setting more verbose modes we get a log which is shown below. The problem
seems to be the maxretries message which comes from chan_iax2. We are using

IAX - lan ip phones.
Apart from the "virbiage" FT-201 which hasn't seen the light of day
yet,
just wondering if there are any other IAX phonesets around
available NOW.
Don't get me wrong, the Virbiage unit seem to be in the right price
range, its just not available yet...

FireFly Problems
How come FireFly doesn't give me an Inband DTMF option? Only RFC2833 and
Info. RFC2833 is the default, so I left it that way. I also unchecked all
the codecs except g711ulaw to force that codecs usage. However, when I go to
place a call, I get this:
Nov 3 13:18:44 WARNING[53641241]: dsp.c:1468 ast_dsp_process: Inband DTMF
is not supported on codec G.711 u-law. Use RFC2833

Another Firefly update - now with SRV support
With all the talk of SRV support in Asterisk, I thought I'd add support
in Firefly so enjoy. Thanks to Olle for helping me with it, explaining
the wonderful world of SIP and SRV to me. There's also an option to
disable it (seems to take quite a few DNS lookups for SRV) - warning
Duane may hunt you down if you do disable it though :)
I've also added support for SIP via TCP and the

notable feature added is DTMF via SIP INFO.

FireFly + G729 license
Hello there,
I've successfully compiled the G729 DLL for FireFly. However, I'd
like to hook up some customers using this, and I'm not sure how I can
license it. Everything seems to point to buying thousands of G729 licenses
at a time (from Sipro), and the Virbiage site doesn't mention anything. Is
there anyone who can sell small quantities (like Digium does for Asterisk)
for
