3rd party call control / CSTA , JTAPI or TAPI interfaces
(REPOST, sorry if you get this more than once.)
Hello all,
(Not sure if this is more appropriate for user or dev list)
Does asterisk have any sort of "standards based" api that can enable
an application to do call control on the switch ?
For example, if I am developing a call center application
using asterisk, I would like to be notified of inbound calls
and then be able to route

has been released.
The Asterisk-Java package consists of a set of Java classes that allow
you to easily build Java applications that interact with an Asterisk
PBX Server. Asterisk-Java supports both interfaces that Asterisk
provides for this scenario: The FastAGI protocol and the Manager API.

CTI interface(s) for Asterisk? [REALLY LONG MESSAGE - SORRY]
Hi. I have just finished Googling the list archive for information on
doing CTI with Asterisk. I never found a definitive "here's how it's
done" answer, but I did see a number of postings indicating that it was
at least a possibility. (For those of you who already know about CTI,
please pardon the pedantic introductions to each section.)
Here are my questions:

Samba config
Hi I?m having difficulty configuring Samba running on FreeBSD. Samba
version is 2.2.8a. The scenario is that we have an NT4 domain and I am
looking to migrate the printers onto Samba. All of the printers are
connected via print servers, mainly HP JetDirect. As far as security is
concerned I am happy for guest/anonymous logon as the server will only
be used for printing but I have set security to

Help creating a correlation matrix
Hello all. I have 14 variables, named D2_1,
D2_2,...,D2_14 (inherited from a data set). I would
like to create a matrix of correlations, although I
would be content in just learning how to create a
proper do loop. I tried something like this:
(for i in 1:14){cor(D2_[i],D2_[i], use =
"complete.obs")}
This is wrong, of course, but I don't know how to

Using rcov and ouput to screen
I''d like to output my rcov data to the screen in ascii instead of
html...is that possible using the rake spec:rcov command?
Also, is there somewhere that will allow me to search the mail
archives...I''m pretty sure someone else has asked similar questions.
Thanks for the help.

Testing for cross site scripting, etc.
Being new to testing and ruby, are there "standard" tests that can be
done that test for things like cross site scripting and friends?
If not, anyone have ideas on what I might do about testing those sorts
of things?
I''ll be using rails, also.

R graphic help
Dear All,
I've done some searching, but to no avail --
I'm plotting x-y data via the "plot" command, and the "log=x" command.
The graphed x values are in scientific notation (1e-02 1e-01 1e+00 etc).
Might you have some idea on how I can get the plot to uses the x values
(0.01 0.10 1.0 10.0 etc) instead? A related Q - where might a good place to
search for such

Requesting help with a log entry
Does anyone know what this log entry indicates? What service running on a
WinNT server would send out a UDP packet with source port 137 and
destination port 1? (I was unable to get any clarity from Google...)

weights in lmer
Dear R users,
Prof. Ripley just corrected my understanding of the use of weights in glm,
which I thought would allow me to correctly use lmer. However I'm still
having problems.
My data takes the form of # of infected and uninfected individuals that
were measured over time under different treatments. I'm using lmer to
adjust for the repeated measures over time.

Centos and Software RAID
I purchased an Intel D945GNT motherboard and it comes in the BIOS with
an option to create a RAID 0 or RAID 1 volumes using my existing two
SATA disks. However when installing Centos 4.3 x86_64 I see the the
installer recognices the two drives and does not "see" the RAID 0.
Is that ok?
Should I disable the RAID in the BIOS and then go for a LVM+RAID 0
setup in the installer ?

smbd spawns
Stoped and restarted smbd and nmbd.
Logged out of NT user account and logged back in.
Tried to acces the shares on Linux
The message box I get is,
\\myhost\root is not accessible
The handle is invalid.
On Linux, now I see 2 processes of smbd running. Why is smbd spawning?

Using mocks
I''ve just started doing TDD/BDD and like the idea of mocks. So I set
out to use them. The doc pages seem great, I setup the mock and then
it just works. Here is what I am trying to do:
Myuser is a non-rails model of user attributes. We are going to be
mocking the connection to the ldap server. The user class has a login
method that connects to the ldap server and if successful,
