Queue announcing hold sequence instead of hold time
Hi, We recently updated from an early Asterisk 1.2 SVN to 1.2.15 (on Debian Sarge) and the behaviour of our Call Centre queues has changed slightly. Before the upgrade, when a caller was waiting in the queue, the estimated hold time was announced as expected ("estimated hold time is less than 2 minutes ..."). Now the caller gets an announcement of their sequence in the queue

Re: RedHat 5.X Security Book
[mod: This discussion has been going on "offline" with an occasional CC to linux-security. By the time I got around to do another "moderation round" this one was the latest. Everyone is keeping good context, so I think you all will be able to follow the discussion. --REW] >>>>> <seifried@seifried.org> writes: >> The only thing I can see coming out

slow FLAC__file_decoder_seek_absolute()...
Hi, I checked the archives, but I didn't find anything regarding this problem. FLAC__file_decoder_seek_absolute takes an incredibly long time to seek. What can I do about this? How do I fix it? Here's how I'm calling the function: if (argc > 2) { secs = atoi(argv[2]); seek_point = (FLAC__uint64) secs * sample_rate; printf("seeking to %d:%02d\n", secs/60,

Realtime Queue Status for Agents
Hello, I am having a problem which stems from the fact that the Agents that handle my call queues are unaware if there are are people waiting in the queue. I have found the following configuration options but they are not very helpful. in queues.conf: announce=xxx The "announce = XXX" option in queues.conf makes Asterisk play the XXX announcement to the member of the queue who

context question
Is there any way within asterisk to limit the scope of contexts, basically to make one context totally unaware of another. The application I had in mind involved allowing users to create their own dial plans. To that end I wanted to make it so that a given user could not call a different users dialplan. I could filter everything and prepend a customer id to every context they specify, but

Command-line editing & history
Hi all, Are there any plans to add more functionality to command-line editing and history editing on the command line? In MATLAB (I know, comparisons are odious ...), you can type "p" and up-arrow on the command line and scroll through the recently entered commands beginning with "p". This is a very useful feature and something that I believe is not replicated in R. Please

[Bridge] [PATCH] net/bridge: Add 'hairpin' port forwarding mode
This patch adds a 'hairpin' (also called 'reflective relay') mode port configuration to the Linux Ethernet bridge kernel module. A bridge supporting hairpin forwarding mode can send frames back out through the port the frame was received on. Hairpin mode is required to support basic VEPA (Virtual Ethernet Port Aggregator) capabilities. You can find additional information on VEPA

[LTO] -time-passes and libLTO
Hi, We have been investigating an issue when running LTO with our proprietary linker, which links against libLTO dynamically. The issue is that when we pass -time-passes via the lto_codegen_debug_options function in the LTO C API, no time information is produced during compilation. The reason for this is that time information is stored in state owned by a ManagedStatic instance, and is only
