Chan_Capi Down
Hi all,
* was running ... I have a WT405P and an AVM C4 with chan_capi 0.3.4a
Today chan_capi stopped working, without any changings at the system.
It seems, that not * is the reason, because isdn-log also shows no calls.
If I try to call * from outside via capi, I only get a busy.
That is the try from inside to outside:

Configuring Digium TE405P for use in Germany
Hello all,
I really checked voip-info.org but it still seems to be not very easy and I
just hope that there is anybody with a simular config.
We have one PRI (euroisdn with 30 channels) coming from the DTAG. The second
PRI should be connected to a Siemens Hicom 150E Pro Office PBX (was cheaper
than a channel bank :-)

CallPres screening DDI
Hello,
we had a running configruation where asterisk passed the phone number and
the ddi to the pstn (i.e. 595-431)
Now only the rootnumber arrives: 5950
I do not know, what to do. I tried to use callingpres (now i am just hiding
every number, because 595-0 is no valid extension..) but that did not
worked.

Adding support for phonetic correction via soundex algorithms
Hello!
I'm Shubham Sharma, a 3rd year Information Systems student at BITS Pilani,
and I'd like to explore the possibilities of a GSOC Project that would aim
at improving the tolerant retrieval capabilities via *phonetic* correction(:
misspellings that arise because the user types a query that sounds like the
target term. ) I did find spelling correction via edit distance in

Prosodic/phonetic analysis with R
Hi Folks,
I'm interested in looking (in a beginner's amateurish way)
at prosodic/phonetic analysis of recorded speech.
In particular I would want to use R to formulate and
evaluate specific models.
So I would like to ask R people for their recommendations
for a program which would
a) Take as input a sound file in one of the common formats
(".wav", ".au")
b)

Match one OR two digit extension not working as expected without using "dangerous" _. pattern (Ast 14)
Back to basics here. I want to match on one OR two digits.
The following two both work, but ONLY for more than one digit, which
is not as expected from the docs (see below).
exten => _X.,1,SayNumber(${EXTEN})
exten => _[0-9].,1,SayNumber(${EXTEN})
This next one will ONLY match 2 digits, as expected, but the first two
SHOULD match one or more, right?
exten => _XX,1,SayNumber(${EXTEN})

Phonetic symbols (IPA) in R graphics
Hi all,
I would like to add phonetic symbols in my figures. Usually I typeset
my documents in LaTeX and I use the tipa [1] package to get
International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA) fonts. So, my problem would be
solved if I could insert LaTeX commands in the text() function (I
guess at least).
I would like to avoid using psfrag (that is, inserting a string in
the eps figure and then substituting it

* Support for other language syntaxes in saynumber
Accidentally I opened this can of worms to see if we can add support
for other language syntaxes for saying numbers. Seems like Swedish,
english and norwegian follow the same syntax. I've integrated
existing patches for french, danish and soon portuguese syntax.

Metaphone analysis
Not sure how much this will interest people but I don''t have a blog so I''m
posting something I threw together today cause I think it might be useful.
In what little free time I have I''ve been wanting to put together a
Rails/Ferret based restful dictionary. So I finally got a chance to get
started today so the first thing I wanted to do was implement a metaphone
