Sendmail with exchange
I am using Asterisk to send Voicemail out as Email. I am running into a
problem I believe to be caused by the exchange server requiring SMTP
authentication. I cannot get the sys admin's to turn it off. Does anyone
know enough about sendmail to help me. I am assuming that the default
mail client is sendmail. It will also send to other non-SMTP
authenticated servers. Your help is much

Voicemail and MS Exchange Synchronization
We have a customer considering migrating from a large Nortel PBX with a
third-party voicemail system to Asterisk but one of the features they
really like is the automatic synchronization of voicemail between
Exchange and their voicemail system -- delete a message from the
voicemail system and it is deleted from their email inbox and vice versa.
Searching has not revealed anything like this

Exchange Server in DMZ
I would like to place an exchange 5.5 server in my DMZ.
Can anyone tell me how I can set this up to allow LAN clients to be able to
connect to Exchange and also so I can admin the box from the LAN with
Terminal Services?
Thank you.

0pensource MAPI client for Exchange
Anyone know a good Linux client for Exchange that is MAPI based and not IMAP based? Using Evolution, but going from Outlook/MAPI to this is not fun?
Thanks!

Which is better? Microsoft Exchange 2016 or Linux-based SMTP Servers?
Good evening from Singapore,
I am torn between deploying Microsoft Exchange 2016 and Linux-based
SMTP servers like sendmail, postfix, qmail and exim.
Relative ease of installation and configuration is an important
consideration factor.
Microsoft Exchange 2016, Domain Controller, and Active Directory are
relatively easy to install and configure. Linux-based SMTP servers are
extremely difficult

Which is better? Microsoft Exchange 2016 or Linux-based SMTP Servers?
Dear Promise Kumalo,
Thank you for the recommendations.
So for Exchange equivalents in the Linux world, it is Zimbra and Kolab.

Exchange-replacement with SOGo
I thought some people here would be interested:
Recently SOGo added support for OpenChange, which means Outlook can natively access it via MAPI the same way as Exchange. Everything is open source, and the great thing about SOGo is that it uses existing IMAP server for mails rather than reimplementing yet another one itself. They seem to prefer Cyrus, but apparently Dovecot should work too. For

Evolution to Exchange 2007?
Hello to all:
What is the most recent status of MAPI support for Evolution
connectivity to Exchange 2007 server for calendaring, etc?
I've seen various blogs and email threads, but I wanted to tap this
list's resources, too.
Thanks.

Check for the voicemail
Hi all,
I have a problem with voicemail. My boss has asked me to send via email,
the message that a user leaves on the voicemail. This is very easy. :)
After, he asked me to check before sending the email, if the receiver's
mailbox is full. If the mailbox is full, Asterisk should call the
receveir intern (example 2001) and using a Playback tell him that his
mailbox is full.
How can I do?

Malloc debug kills asterisk?
Hi-
In trying to track down a possible memory leak in asterisk, I've discovered
that the "show memory allocations" command crashes asterisk (causes it to
stop handling calls, although it doesn't seg fault). The related "show
memory summary" works however.
Before I post this to the bugs list, can someone else please confirm this
problem? You need to enable malloc

dovecot as exchange server?
Hi,
This might be a stupid question, since my knowledge about Exchange is
really poor...
Since I've got iPhone, I have noticed that IMAP mailbox support is
quite crippled in this device - in comparison to Exchange mailboxes...
As I assume that it would be easier to convince Bill Gates to install
linux than to convince Steve Jobs to change anything in his "perfect
phone", I

voicemail to email sending problems
I have a box that will send to my personal pop/web based email but will not send to my exchange server. I have checked the MX record and DNS settings. I know there is something you can do like this to check it but it returns either a -1 or 0 (have no idea what that means)

Dumb, hacky idea...but just so crazy it might work:
Have Asterisk include a read receipt request when sending the voice mail
message. Write a script, triggered from a sendmail alias or .forward file,
that will parse the incoming receipts and handle the message deletion.
Bonus points: When someone listens

Sendmail, mailertable and DNS weirdness.
Guys,
I've had a weird problem with Sendmail misbehaving in a way I don't
really understand. I've worked round the problem but I'd like to
understand what was going on.
The MX for one of our domains, blah.com, pointed at an internal
Exchange server. Mail relayed to a Sendmail MailScanner which then
delivered to Exchange for this domain. The domain expired leading to
all its mail

IMAP Voicemail with MS Exchange
Hi there,
We're trying to get IMAP voicemail storage working on an MS Exchange
server - I would be grateful if anyone who has successfully done this
could post the magic soup here, as extensive Google searching has
yielded nothing other than tantalizing references to it being done
without any specifics.

MAPI Properties?
I'm using Dovceot/IMAP on Linux and Outlook clients on WIN7 workstations. Mail
on Linux is stored in Maildir format.
I'm searching for where Outook keeps its information on color categories in
IMAP. According to Diane Poremsky at slipstick.com, "Outlook stores it in the
mapi properties of each message. If you use MFCMAPI to viuw the messages, you'll
see the properties."
