Rhino Channel Bank or ADIT 600
I am forklifting a Merridian option 51c with 112 Nortel Digital Handsets and 400 analog units. For the analog units I have quotes for 9 ADIT 600 48 port fxs units and 17 Rhino 24 port FXS channel banks. I have used neither. Which is the best choice? The price difference is not that great. I am looking at Citelinks 24 port Handset Gateway for the Nortel Digital units. (Any other suggestions

picking a channel bank
I have never had to pick out a channel bank before but I'd like to use one with the Digium T-1 card to hook 8 analog CO lines to an * PBX. Is there a reference somewhere describing and comparing channel banks (old and new)? Can modern channel banks handle translating all the "new" analog signaling features into a T-1 format? For example, can it interpret the 1200 baud FSK

IP FXS channel bank
Hi there, I'm trying to get hold of an evaluation IP-enabled FXS channel bank. I'm not sure if it's more a channel bank, or should be called a multiport-ATA. Oh well. On the surface it looks quite nice - 16 FXS ports, and since it's connected to the network I can do away with an E1/T1 connection required of the normal channel banks (if it can be called that :) Here are some

Pbx / channel bank install
Hi all, We are about to make our first channel bank install. This will be a one PRI outside connection and up to 70 extensions. As the schedule (and the budget) is pretty tight, I would like to learn a little bit more about general experiences with channel banks, like echo cancellation problems, Caller ID usage, etc. TIA, Paulohm

Channel Bank?
Hi all, I'm currently evaluating ideas for a phone system for our new office and I have a copy of Asterisk along with a couple of H.323 phones setup in the lab here. I'm very impressed - thanks for the great software! (I was especially impressed that the IAX connection to Digium worked out of the box like that - someone at Digium no doubt has a voicemail from me this morning!) ;-) What

Zhone Channel Bank
This may be a long shot, but I suppose it can't hurt to ask! I have seen chatter regarding Zhone channel banks amongst the asterisk users primarily. In all of my searching I am guessing that the majority of people using the Zhone's are probably reading this, and with the support that I have seen from Zhone so far this is probably my best bet, I recently picked one up for a project

Hello. I am totally new to this PBX/asterisk/telephony world. I understand that what I need between the T100P/E100P and the POTS analog lines is a channel bank/multiplexer? I am looking for recommendations on this type of hardware. I have been looking around and found a product from valiant communications (http://www.valiantcom.com/) and/or

Hi, I have a mint, like-new (used only once) Zhone Z-Plex channel bank for sale. It has 16 FXS and 8 FXO (part number: Z-PLEX-10-24S/O). [Fwd: Re: Adit 600 channel bank in UK setting]
Peter - 40 phones and only 3 PSTN trunks?. I would recommend at least 2 BRIs for this. If you have ISDN you can also get DDI to the extensions.I would strongly recommend abandoning the analogue PSTN lines and using ISDN. The setup pain you will go through will be significantly less, combined with better audio, more features (like DDI numbers!) and much more robust connections. You should look

[Fwd: Re: Adit 600 channel bank in UK setting]
Jon, I actually had some more discussions with Tim on this issue, and it seems that the channel bank would still be a good option to choose for internal purposes. I would not see any other solution than a channel bank to connect many 2wire phones into one asterisk box. I had a talk today with Carrier Access, and it seems that the adit would do us fine. The fxs cards of the adit 600 are

Newbridge Mainstreet 3624 T1 channel bank no w Alcatel
In the 'me too' vein, I also have an untested 3624 here on the shelf and am waiting on a shipment of T100 cards to play with. Documentation is very hard to come by. Alcatel are certainly the owners of the Mainstreet product line but, without a support contract, any documentation they may have is essentially unavailable as their per-incident fees for support cost more than most of the
