Need help registering Cisco 7960 Phones on Asterisk
Hi everyone, I googled this followed the instructions, but it hasn't work for me yet. I have universal setting in SIPDefault.cnf and phone specific settings in SIPXXXXXXXXXX.cnf. But it doesn't get registered. I need to register it on two different asterisk boxes. So my SIPXXXXXXXXXX.cnf looks like this: phone_label: "Zeeshan A Zakaria" line1_name: "523"

Cisco 7960G, SIP, NAT, Qualify and Unreachable
Hey, I just started trying to use the qualify=yes option on my Cisco 7960 SIP phones. Of the 13 I have, 2 of them seem to loose their registration with asterisk on a regular basis. I see lots of these lines: -- Registered SIP '3030' at 62.74.107.1 port 58825 expires 60 in my console. But I only see them for 2 extensions. Never see them for the other 11. All 13 phones have the exact same

Cisco 7940G
Hi, We've got a customer site with Cisco 7940G Phones connecting to our Asterisk Server via SIP. However, upon running a "sip show peers" it states that the phone is : user/user (Unspecified) D 255.255.255.255 0 Unmonitored All phones can call out via our Asterisk Server fine regardless. The problem is when they try and place a call to one another, where it

Cisco 7940 [SIP], DTMF and Voicemail
Hi everyone, I'd say this question has come up and been answered before but I haven't been able to find it. I have a Cisco 7940 that I've upgraded to SIP firmware (currently P0S-3-06-3-00 - for some reason there was a failure when trying to upgrade to V7 so I left it at V6). The problem I'm having is that when I connect to voicemail the DTMF key presses dont seem to work

Cisco 7960 won't register
Hello all, I've got a Cisco 7960 running version 7.4 firmware (heard there were problems with 7.5) and I can't get it to register with Asterisk. I've stripped down my configs on the phone to a bare minimum, and posted them below. Basically, the Cisco phone sends absolutely no packets to the proxy when it gets booted. If I make an outgoing call I see traffic getting to Asterisk, but

Dear All, I'm trying to configure my new phone Cisco 7960 to work with asterisk. I followed http://www.asteriskguru.com/tutorials/cisco_7960_ip_phone_configuration.html and I got into the point where I can see on the the display line indication showing "55 <phone icon with x>" so it looks like the phone is not registered. The phone and the asterisk are in the same local

Cisco 7960G phone crashes during SIP upgrade
Hello, I've recently received a Cisco 7960G phone with the factory default SCCP firmware on it. As we're using SIP on our network, the first things i've done was to upgrade but unfortunately the phone just restarted. By looking on the TFTP logs and tcpump output, i've seen that the phone crashed and restarted just after downloading the OS79XX.TXT file, without requesting the image

Cisco 7940, Voicemail & DTMF
Would anyone know why Voicemail in * doesn't get the DTML keypresses from my Cisco 7940 running SIP (POS3-07-3-00) ? Is it something to do with "dtmf_avt_payload: 101" setting in SIPDefault.cnf in the tftp server? Thanks for any help! Upgrade cisco SIP phone 7940
Hi All, My current 7940 phones use P0S3-06-3-00. I'd like to upgrade them so they're not massively out of date. I found a page at http://www.voip-info.org/wiki-Asterisk+phone+cisco+79xx that gives some info, and using the cisco links there have tried to upgrade. According to the procedures, I should be able to upgrade, but once the phones loaded and reboots it says it downgrades

Cisco 7960 Problem - Phone Unprovisioned
Hi all, i have a problem with some cisco 7960. Yesterday i did a firmware-upgrade from 3.1 (1.2) with P0S30203.bin as described in the most documents. Now i get the message Phone unprovisioned and in TFTP-Log i find the following line: 07.03.2005 19:58 :Timeout error sending P0S3-07-3-00.bin to 192.168.0.83, 0 bytes So i think it now wants to load the file P0S3-07-3-00.bin. Re: Problem converting a Cisco 7960 to SIP
Hello all, I've got myself into a bizzare situation that I can't seem to get myself out of... Was wondering if anyone had some advice that might get me 'over the hill' on this... Some background: PBX consists of an Asterisk box (running TrixBox), 4 Cisco 7960's, 2 Polycom IP500's, and now an additional Cisco 7960. The phones are all on a separate LAN. There is

Cisco 7940g Firmware load problems
I have a Cisco 7940G IP Phone. I am trying to load the firmware to SIP 3.2. The Phone just hangs in Defaulting CM to TFTP Server. It doesn't do anything else after that. I also have two other 7940g's that are the Universal Application Loader mode and say Protocol Application Invalid. I need to know what I can do to fix both these problems. I am running Asterisk@Home version 1.0. I have to

SIP: difference between Grandstream and Cisco when behind NAT
I have used Grandstream phones for years, and have just started testing a Cisco 7940 (with SIP firmware 7.4). I have found something puzzling and don't know whether it's just a limitation or something I haven't done correctly. The Asterisk server is directly on the Internet with a public IP. The phones are on a private LAN with a NAT router to the Internet. The sip.conf entries for

Cisco 7960 says "Protocol Application Invalid?"
I have been able to upgrade my Cisco 7905G phones to the SIP Image without any problems, but I just got a 7960, and I can't seem to get to the settings so I can upgrade to a SIP Image. When the phone boots up, it says Configuring VLAN, Configuring IP, TFTP ????..., then Protocol Application Invalid. I noticed on the wiki page "Firmware issues on 7940 - 7960"

Hi, I can't upgrade an old 7960 from SCCP 3.0 to SIP 7.5. Could you help ?
