Printing via smbclient to Windows BJC-2100 printer
I've seen variations on this problem in the past but they haven't seemed
to help much in this instance. I have Samba running on a
NetBSD(sparc) and would like to set it up to print to a Canon BJC-2100
running on a networked Windows ME machine. (My sparc box lacks a
'standard' parallel interface and I lack an adapter). I can print just
fine to the printer from a second Windows

If so, how did you do it??

Printing NT to Linux w\Cannon bjc-4000
I am able to see my printer as a share. Well better put, I see four
representations of my printer: ascii, lp2, lp-mono, and raw. I tried
the naive thing and just selected lp2 and added the cannon bjc 4000
driver for NT. This didn't work. I get an error report:

trouble adding share with restrictions
I am printing from linux to a printer attached to a win98 computer. I
send a text file directly to the printer such as 'lpr -P BJC
<file.txt>', the printer prints all the text as it should then fails to
eject the last page and then goes off line. When I push the online button,
it ejects the page and then is ready again. I am using a Cannon

Your post on Samba mailing list
Sorry, I guess I should have been more specific, I am printing from linux
to a printer attached to a win98 computer. When I say text I mean when I
send a text file directly to the printer such as 'lpr -P BJC
<file.txt>'. When I say 'hang' what I mean is that the printer prints all
the text as it should then fails to eject the last page and then goes off
line. When I push

Unable to access shares on a Linux Samba server
Hello everyone,
I did alot of searching before I came to post here, but have failed to
come up with a reason why this isn't working. I may just be missing a
major step. First, let me get the formailities out of the way.

samba, ncurses, and sysV printing?
Dear SAMBA Group,
I've playing around with getting SAMBA to do things for me.
I have an Ultra-1 running Solaris 2.6 and a Win-XP system with
a Canon BJC-2000 printer attached to it.
I'm trying to get the SUN to print to the printer on the XP box.
I have followed various instructions but now when I print as "root"
with "lp -d bjc <file>" I get an email message

Grandstream GXP2160 + SRTP
Hello,
I am trying to setup a Grandstream GXP2160 IP-phone with secure calling
(SRTP).
Secure signaling SSIP for registration is working great !
I follow this guide :
https://wiki.asterisk.org/wiki/display/AST/Secure+Calling+Tutorial
But when I try to make a call with SRTP, I get stuck. There is an
initial INVITE which is anwered with a 401. There should follow a new
INVITE with a nonce,

Locale problems on Solaris
Hi there.
With OpenSSH 3.0.2p1 on Solaris, the locale does not appear to get set
correctly at login, as it does with, say telnet:
/etc/default/init:
TZ=GB
CMASK=022
LC_COLLATE=en_GB.ISO8859-1
LC_CTYPE=en_GB.ISO8859-1
LC_MESSAGES=C
LC_MONETARY=en_GB.ISO8859-1
LC_NUMERIC=en_GB.ISO8859-1
LC_TIME=en_GB.ISO8859-1
When logging in via SSH:

Part II Re: read.ssd {foreign} (Reading a permanent SAS d ataset into an R data frame)
Scot,
Thanks for the info. I will try your code out to
verify the result, but before I do that, will your
code (SAS and R) work with variable names that are
longer than 8 characters long without truncating the
variable name in R?
Also, I wonder about using your method or the PROC
EXPORT method with larger data sets. The data sets I
will be working with for the most part will not be
that large,

e2undel for ext3
Is there an ext3 version of this? Something in ext3 makes e2undel unable to
recover unlinked inodes. I just deleted something, umounted the drive to
preserve the state. I used e2undel to look for stuff to recover and it found
0 deleted files.
I have been using e2undel for quite a while with great success and I know hwo
to use it, but it seems to not be able to recover stuff on ext3. Is there

Part II Re: read.ssd {foreign} (Reading a permanent SAS d ataset into an R data frame)
Scot,
Thanks for the additional information. On further
reflection... whether one uses SAS PROC EXPORT or uses
a SAS LIBNAME yourfile XPORT 'yourpathname';
statement, an intermediate file is created in either
case. As far as experience tells me now, PROC EXPORT
is a far superior choice, because variable names do
not get truncated and you only have to deal with
reading in a simple text

Garbled screen after RAM Scrub on boot
Francis,
I just rebooted my Precision 470 and watched...nothing :(
I see the boot menu, and then everything goes blank - as in just a
blinking cursor until I get the login prompt.
No idea what it's doing - but I don't even see the scrubbing free memory
output...

graphics backgrounds from gray to white in png()
Hi,
I'm trying to make a png file of a histogram. I would like a white
background in the final product but end up producing a gray one, despite
setting what I think are the correct parameters. Suggestions for how to
properly set a white background would be welcome.
Thanks in advance,

the "union" of several data frame rows
Hi,
I have a question about how to obtain the union of several data frame
rows. I'm trying to create a common key for several tests composed of
different items. Here is a small scale version of the problem. These
are keys for 4 different tests, not all mutually exclusive:
id q1 q2 q3 q4 q5 q6
1 A C
2 B D
3 A D B
4 C D B D

return() undocumented (PR#6424)
Full_Name: Scot Wilcoxon
Version: 1.8.1
OS: Linux
Submission from: (NULL) (209.98.144.16)
return() is not documented.
It should also be mentioned in the R Reference section for function().
Apparently the last result of a function is the return value from a function,
except when the function is terminated with a return() with an argument.
