ADPCM 4-bit, 6 kHz
I found some posts regarding this issue dating of September 2003, but no real answer. The ADPCM format supported by Asterisk (the .vox files) is 4-bit, 8 kHz. I need 4-bit, 6 kHz, which is also a widespread Dialogic format, to help migration. Is there an existing format/codec for this? If not, can I make myself a shared object in /usr/lib/asterisk/modules? Is this easy??? :-( Thanks, Yves

Basic Asterisk capabilities question
Hello, I am very new to Asterisk, so please forgive me for my basic question. I couldn't find a good answer to this on the info boards. I'd like to know if the following is possible and reasonable to accomplish: I'd like to configure a voice recording system using Asterisk and a Tormenta2 Quad T1 card. A co-worker was able to create this system a while back with Bayonne and a

samba bad password count reset between logins (not loaded from login_cache.tdb)
I found out the answer to why the bad password count was failing by following the stack trace If anyone has the same problem, this was caused by my access rights being too restrictive. source/passdb/Init_sam_from_ldap.c:1064 => There is a "goto fn_exit;" in case ldapsam_get_entry_timestamp() fails before the cache is read via login_cache_read. This function will fail if it cannot

Play a number of files to a caller
I want to be able to allow a caller to dial a ddi, system to verify identity etc (this is all done) I then want them to sit listening to music, until an event happens. When this (external) event happens, I want to play a certain file to the caller, using playback (so that they have ff / rw etc), and when finished, go back to the music. 1) I thought of redirecting to an extension that played the

How to Dialogic 240/JCT-T1 interface with Asterisk?
Hello all Asterisk Users, This is my first post here. We are in a process of moving Dialogic 240/JCT-T1 from old voicemail server to Asterisk box. Which card drivers do we need? Please share experience if anyone have successfully configured Dialogic JCT-T1 card with asterisk? Only source proves that this card work with * http://lists.digium.com/pipermail/asterisk-dev/2003-April/000244.html

Asterisk dimensioning (IVR, mass calling)
Hi, I presently have 6 PRIs of IVR traffic that I am planning to migrate from Dialogic on SCO-Unix to Digium-Asterisk on Debian. Here is the general description of the traffic in question : - IVR system, 138 PRI channels (6 PRIs, multiple D-channel) - Some traffic from TV ads, so all traffic typically arrives within a few seconds - Up to 12-15 simul. outbound (external) conferencing calls for

Dialogic Hardware (Take 2)
Please rest assure that I have been following the * development for a while and understand the value the Digium hardware gives me vs any other vendor. Remote control IVR
Hi I work at a small company that has some IVR solutions that use Dialogic hardware for everything. Everything is written in C++ using MS VC++ using the Dialogic API and runs only on Windows. Being the rebel that I am, I would like free myself from Dialogic. To do this without porting all our existing code to run on Linux I was thinking of controlling the Asterisk from a Windows machine running

smbtar multiple machines
Hi all, I'm just looking at using smbtar to backup the Win95 PC's on my network, and would like usability ideas please. The tape drive I intend to use is in our RS6000 and has a capacity of 20GB before compression which means that I will be able to fit plenty of PC's onto one tape as all the PC's have <3GB HD's on them. The problem I have is how do I get multiple

Re-projecting geotiff
Dear R users, I'm currently trying to re-project a geotiff in another coordinate system. For instance, I have a tif image in UTM 19 zone which I would like to reproject into UTM 18. I was wondering if it was possible in R. Furthermore, I looked into 'rgdal' package, but I can't really find out if I'm doing the right thing. So far, here is what I'm doing: library(rgdal)
