CentOs6 - Ltsp
Dear All,
I'm sending this mail in relation to a post on the CentOs 6 forum :
https://www.centos.org/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id=32545&start=0#forumpost139559
CentOs 6 works great so far, and I do not want to sound impatient, but
I'm eager to find out when Ltsp would be
available on CentOs6 - or even in Rhel6.
We now use Kiwi-Ltsp on OpenSuse and

Terminal Server/File Server Set up
Would like to know whether there exist a clear simple walk through to
set CentOS 4 up as a Terminal Server or in the alternate, as a file and
print server. I'm new but have googled but come up with some rather
complicated issues. I trust someone can help on this forum.

Update/upgrade paths?
Good afternoon, Netizens...
I have a number of 3.3 CentOS boxes that are quite a substantial distance
from my home office. Short of physically going to those sites with a fresh
set of CD's in hand, is there a method of remotely (via secure SSH)
updating not only the files but the distribution as well, say to 4.1? Can
you do a distribution update without using CD's?

Missing rpms for samba-ldap script
I was pointed to: http://web.vcs.u52.k12.me.us/linux/smbldap/
As an effective script to get samba/ldap configured for a PDC. It is
written for Fedora 3 core or the K12LTSP distro. of course I discovered
this after installing the Centos distro. Now it is decision time: stay
with Centos and get this working or move the the K12 distro. This setup is
for the small business network in my basement

2 DHCP server in one subnet
Hello all,
In the network there is already a W2K server serving as DHCP server for the
network. Then we want to implement LTSP, so we need to setup another DHCP
server, right?
Due to unexpected reason (little by little migration of w98 clients to LTSP),
we need to keep the W2K server running in that network. Can we then have 2
DHCP server in the same subnet, only serving pre-determine clients

gnet-2.0, gio-2.0
Hello,
I''m porting one project to centos where we use gnet and gio libraries. Will
be these libraries part of centos in future? I''m not sure what relationship
is between these libraries and glib.

Thin client server setup
Hi,
I am thinking of settting up a thin client server setup.
I would like to set it up to work with linux and windows.
I was going to use Symbiont but it says it needs a different version of
linux to install. Has anyone used it with Centos before?
Would it be easier to just install LTSP and set it up.
I would like to b have a small box that does the dhcp and then allows
users to logon to

Hi,
I'm trying to install K12LTSP based on CentOS 5.0-el 32bits kernel
2.6.18-8 on a server with 3ware 9650SE raid controller. Does anybody
know where I can find a driver diskette for the raid controller as this
is only supported from kernel 2.6.19.
Thanks for any help

Index Corruption xBase database
from smbstatus man page:
-B|--byterange
causes smbstatus to include byte range locks.
the fact is that 4 different connections are opening the same byte
range in 'MOVCTA.cdx'
That's about all that I can get from your command result dump.

Are the shares set to oplocks = no ? That sometimes has a role in
database corruption.

Thanks for the tip. Is veto oplocks different to oplocks = no?
Just now I run into an error, but this time I have this log:
../lib/util/util.c:401(fcntl_lock)
fcntl_lock: fcntl lock gave errno 11 (resource temporally unavailable)
fcntl_lock: lock failed at offset 2147483646 count 1 op 37 type 1 (resource

Does this give you any clue of how the problem can be solved?

XBASE error under Wine
Hi. I'm migrating the system of a friend from Windows to Linux. He used a program made with xBase (programmed by him), and unfortunately isn't compatible with xHarbour. So I tried it with Wine, but I find these errors when I open the program. :(

Wishlist: addition to FAQ 2.7
After making quite a few circles around one particular issue (and
eventually resolving it) I have a suggestion to make:
Append the following to http://www.openssh.org/faq.html#2.7
"NOTE: In order to agent forwarding to work you need to have xauth
installed in the remote host. In Debian xauth is in 'xbase-clients'
package."
