Astricon Conference Call?????????
I know this is probably way out there but............ Would it be possible to set up a (Asterisk based) conference call (per se) with the presentations at the upcoming Astricon conference via IAXtel (or something similar) so that people who are not able to attend could join a Meetme conference (listen only) and listen to the content. There maybe bandwidth issues but this would certainly be an

Simple Caller-ID match and block and/or play voice file saying you're calling too much or don't call!
The subject says it all. A couple of my sons have very annoying friends that tend to call ALOT. I usually don't like to answer the phone but these kids keep calling back with in 2 minutes of calling. I'm sure someone else has this problem and maybe using * to do a callerID match and block? Even add logic that if they called so many times in an hour? Or in my case, make it a

Wine / Warcraft 3 Problem but I'm sure anyone can help.
Hi, I am desperately trying to get keyboard input in wine when it is not windowed, or alternatively stop my mouse cursor from leaving the wine window when it is in window mode. I am using wine 20030219 with RH 8.0, trying to play Warcraft 3. Keyboard issue: When I run wine without the desktop window switch - "Desktop" = "1024x768", any keys pressed go straight to the

R 3.1.0 Beta installed but I'm not sure how
Hi All, I have installed R on Ubuntu 12.04 with apt pointed at my favorite mirror (http://cran.cnr.berkeley.edu/bin/linux/ubuntu precise/). Today, I ran an apt-get upgrade and now when I launch R, it tells me that I’m running R version 3.1.0 beta (2014-03-28 r65330) -- "Spring Dance”. I’m slightly confused as when I look at the package list in

I'm sure I'm missing something with formatC() or sprintf()
I have a four-digit string I want to convert to five digits. Take the following frame: zip 2108 60321 60321 22030 91910 I need row 1 to read '02108'. This forum directed me to formatC previously (thanks!) That usually works but, for some reason, it's not in this instance. Neither of the syntaxes below change '2108' to '02108.' The values in cand_receipts[,1] are of

Think I'm sure, but confirm: lme4 vs. nlme
The impression I get from the list and the references I've perused is that nlme is being phased out in favor of lme4, but lme4 still doesn't have a complete feature set yet. What I'm still fuzzy on, being a relative R newbie, is: (a) what features in nlme are currently missing in lme4 (b) what's the projected time frame on getting them implemented. If anyone can answer my naive

Sure, it's a newbie thing, but I'm willing to be at least ONE person has been bit by this....
Hi All, I have a Samba system I fire up once in a blue moon for testing, and had a bit of a minor heart attack when it "suddenly" stopped letting me access shares as anyone other than root. Security is set to "user" since it's not a domain member server. My office requires that passwords get changed every 90 days, and the last time I accessed the server was on the

CentOS 5: comment swap in fstab
I'm not sure what gave me this idea, but I decided to comment out the swap partition in /etc/fstab and reboot my laptop. I did not run swapoff directly at any time. I'm running more things now than I would ever dream of to hammer my 500MB of memory, but I still notice NO slowdown. This is the best desktop experience I've ever had for any OS on any hardware! Here's the first 12

Looking for function for Double to raw to double conversions
Hello, I am trying to implement function for reading/writing some XML file format. One feature of that XML format is that a lot of binary data is stored in Base64 format, and since R's XML package does not seem to support it, I just wrote my own converter from "raw" format to Base64, and back. However one place I have problems with is conversion from vector of doubles to vector of

Want new standard Asterisk prompts? Just ask!
Allison Smith has kindly agreed to add some new prompts to the "additional" prompt set for Asterisk. If you have ideas for additional stock prompts (serious or silly), please submit them: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/viewform?formkey=dERsMVdGNjBwVmVGWlUzcmt3ZzJTMFE6MQ She will record the prompts on an occasional basis and we will get them set up for download. Thanks,
