Grandstream tftp cfg.txt format
Hello!
I've been reading through the archives on this list for the last 8-10
months. There are some reports on success with tftp autoconfiguration
with a given cfg.txt format but really vague. Has anybody successfully
done this without using GAPS, or has anybody got a correctly formatted
cfg.txt file that works (from GAPS). I would be happy to write a script
or a java program that

Grandstream bin cfg.txt generator
Hi,
I needed to create config files for downloading to Grandstream devices and made a little script for it. It seems to work fine for the HT486.
The script needs a config file (cfg.in) which is in this format:
P2 = blah
P10 = hrm
...etc...
The configfile may contain comments (starting with '#') and empty lines. Mind that the 'gnkey=0b82' shouldn't be in the configfile, as

Re Grandstream 1.0.4.38
I just got an email from SIPphone advising that there have been problems
with the above firmware and advising to reload from their server. This
does in fact reload 1.0.4.35 into the phone. And now voicemail has gone
AWOL again.

CallerID for incoming SIP calls to Asterisk connected phone
Hello all,
I'm having a problem with getting incoming callerid to a lan-connected
phone.
The Asterisk server is connected to the Internet, and a Grandstream
BT101 phone on a lan interface:
INTERNET ----(eth0) Asterisk (eth1) ---- Grandstream (192.168.1.51)
The phone registers with the Asterisk server as ext 20.
I can initiate and receive calls from the Grandstream phone fine.

PXE boot hangs after trying to load cfg/<max address>
Hi,
i'm trying to get my VIA Epia with VIA Rhine ethernet device to boot
PXELinux. I have done this before, but now i can't get it to work.
The machine loads pxelinux.0, i see some messages. But it fails just
after trying reading the first config file (the one with the mac
address). It kinda says this (transcribed):
CLIENT IP: 192.168.1.23 MASK: 255.255.255.0 DHCP IP: 192.168.1.93

New SIP Phone
Michael Robertson, founder of both MP3.com and Lindows, has launched a
new company to supply inexpensive SIP phones ($129 for two) and related
services. See today's press release at
http://www.sipphone.com/tiki-index.php?page=SIPphone%20Inc
My question for the list is who will be the first to report on the
compatibility and usability of the SIPphone with Asterisk? The

Updated version of Grandstream cfg file generator
Several bugs were reported in the first release version, which are now
fixed:
1) The file generator was losing the filename and not successfully
generating files when using the MAC address.
2) The path initialization code was not working correctly.
Also, I have appended the version number to the main window's title and
added an option to show phone passwords in plain-text for those

Working with FWD, IPTel, SIPPhone?
I'll admit it. I'm a asterisk newbie (but no stranger to telephony).
The setup is simple: two Grandstream BudgeTel 100 phones (SIPPhone
specials) on a private segment calling to a Linux box acting as the
segment's firewall with a leg on our public network. The phones are
setup as SIP/phone1 (x1000) and SIP/phone2 (x1001), respectively (thanks
to the Asterisk HOWTO).

"Unable to find path from G729A to ULAW" on Sipphone.com
I seem to be having a problem with transcoding and/or agreeing on a
valid codec. I am running a new image pulled from CVS at 1:30 PM CST.
The issue occurs when I try to make a call to a toll-free number over
sipphone.com.
Here's what I see in the console:

Grandstream CFG file generator
I've just finished a general purpose configuration utility for the GS
phones:
1) Generates files from scratch (using MAC), from HTML config listing,
or by directly downloading from the phone.
2) Does multiple simulteneous edits.
3) Can reboot as many or as few phones at a time as you like.
I would like to offer it to the list, but there are 2 issues:
1) I want to GPL it first, if

GrandStream Budgetone Phone & DHCP & General Observations
Symptom: Phone after about 15mins will stop functioning
Problem: DHCP lease renewed but default route dropped
Fix: Assign a static ip and problem is resolved. Upgrade to new firmware once it is released
It turn's out that these phones have a few issue in 1.0.3.81 firmware. The phone may stop transmitting packets if configured with DHCP, if DHCP is being provided by certain devices. Netopia

pxelinux 4.03 taking forever to find .../pxelinux.cfg/default
Hi All,
It appears the NetApp OnTap tftp server we were using doesn't
implement the "OpCode: Error Code (5); Error Code: File not found (1)"
response." so we just moved the tftp service to RHEL boxes running HPA
tftpd.
It's essential for our deployment system to locate the pxelinux config
specific to an installation request based on it's MAC address. If the

I tried to do an HTTP update from the Grand Stream web site...
After half an hour, I recycled power and now its dead... LED's come on
