ultra-cheap asterisk box
hi all what about this... I just put together a box on a web shop (komplett.no) that will cost me NOK ~1850 (? 216) plus a small ?50 drive and cables, so say ?300. This consists of a cheap MB with a duron 1400, 256MB SDRAM and two HFC-PCI cards (if capijod will finish off the zaptel-driver soon). This is all in a cheap PC case. What do you think? Should this be doable? as a product? With only IP

Re: ultra-cheap asterisk box -> Small Biz Robust Asterisk Solution - SBRAS
Paul, I wholly agree with what you're saying - I too ensure that we have at the very minimum, a set of full spares. However, this thread really has the wrong name at this point... We're now looking at embedded solutions, in the same way Cisco has with it's ICS 7750 solution. I'm looking to build a robust embedded solution, that we can run in tandem - of course, we want to

RE: [Asterisk] How to select server ardware?
Hi Chris, I know this is quite an old email, but I was browsing through the archive :) I am currently working on "embedding" asterisk in one of Allwell's STB's. The idea is more or less exactly like yours. The STB will be solid-state and contain OS, Asterisk, Basic configuration and voice files on a flash disk. It will boot up and get a network share via DHCP. This network

Sorry 'bout that
Sorry 'bout that "vacation" message. Procmail usually is smart enough to avoid sending replies to mailing lists. I put in a rule to prevent this from happening again. -- Moshe Yudkowsky * http://www.Disaggregate.com

[LLVMdev] Questions bout the Steensguard AA Pass in rDSA
@John: Since rDSA hasn't been used in ages, perhaps it's time we deleted it from the repository? It'll live on in SVN glory forever for interested parties, and will avoid some of the confusion about its purpose. Additionally, we probably shouldn't have entire directories of dead code in mainline O:). Given these reasons: mind if I remove it from trunk? ~Will On Sun, Jun 15,

[LLVMdev] Questions bout the Steensguard AA Pass in rDSA
Deal all, Recently i am searching for a intra-procedure alias analysis pass and the -ds-aa pass seems to be the one i am looking for. sorta-newbie: installing 2.2.6 rpm with --nodeps on RedHat 7.2 ?
I have samba (server-only) running on a server with a stock RedHat 7.2 'server' install and am trying to upgrade Samba to 2.2.6-1.i386. I get the following dependency failures when trying to "rpm -ivh samba-2.2.6-1.i386.rpm": libncurses.so.4 is needed by samba-2.2.6-1 libreadline.so.3 is needed by samba-2.2.6-1 ncurses4-5.0-4.i386.rpm and ncurses-5.2-12.i386.rpm is already

OT Sorta: Strouhal Numbers, Unladen Swallows and Monthy Python....
Greetings all, Every now and then, as we engage in serious discourse, it seems appropriate to throw something into the mix that might digress and brighten the day. So, what is a Strouhal Number? "For an animal or insect in flight, the Strouhal number is determined by the frequency (f) of wing strokes, multiplied by the amplitude (A) of the wing, divided by the animal?s forward speed (U)

Samba 1.9.18 on Unixware 2.1.2, Makefile problem (& solution, sorta)
Hello Samba gurus: I apologize if I'm not following some established protocol, I'm pretty new to samba and to this list. I just tried compiling samba 1.9.18 on UnixWare 2.1.2 and ran into a problem with UnixWare's /usr/ccs/bin/cc: it doesn't deal with the "-o" option in combination with the "-c" option well at all. It either ignores the "-o" or

sorta OT: Bounty for Click to Call plugin for IE
I'm in process of transitioning a number of offices to a hosted virtual pbx from Junction Networks. It's a combination of OpenSER and Asterisk. They have a nice click-to-call extension for Firefox, but I need the equivalent for IE so that it can work with our CRM system. Junction told me that they have a bounty on offer for this if someone's interested in doing the work. Would the
