Asterisk RPMS for RH9 + RH7.3
Hello all,
It's my birthday today, so as my present I would like everyone
possible to download and test my updated set of RPMS for Asterisk 0.7.1.
By popular request, I installed and built a set of RPMS for RedHat 9.0,
and in the process fixed a bunch of issues from the initial build. I have
also updated and will be maintaining a page on the Asterisk Wiki located

Asterisk 0.7.1 RPMS Updated to Rel 4
Neo: What are you trying to tell me? That I can dodge bullets?
Morpheus: No, Neo. I'm trying to tell you that when you're ready,
you won't have to.
There have been over 500 downloads of the RedHat Asterisk RPMS
since they were released 2 weeks ago, and I have received many comments
to improve them. After some late night hacking this weekend, I have
dropped 0.7.1 release 4 RPMS at

Polycom 501 Phones Rebooting
Hello,
At one of our locations, we have started to see Polycom 501s
(running 1.6.7 firmware) randomly reboot. We have taken packet traces of the
phones to determine if there is something odd in the Layer 2 or 3 of the
network that might cause it, and have not seen anything strange. There are
no errors on the ports. This appears to be affecting POE powered as well as
AC powered phones. The Polycom

Suggestion - an article about R in Linux Journal
I don't know if this has already been done, but anyway ...
I'm hooked on R (and I'm only a newbie ... :-) . Would it be a good
idea
to have an introductory article about R in Linux Journal? I'm
half-tempted
to look at doing one myself, but I have a suspicion that such a thing
would
not be "the done thing" for a newbie ....:-)
I've seen intro articles on

ruby column at linux Journal
Better Late Than *Reeeally* Late:
Last week''s Ruby column was posted at Linux Journal last night. There
appears to be a bit of editorial flux there right now, so markup and
scheduling are all a bit weird, but I hope to get things straightened out
in time for next weeks column. In addition to news from around the
Ruby world, I''ve included a quick overview of the rubyGems and

Ruby Column at Linux Journal
(Since this has some bearing on rails, I thought I''d post it here
too.)
The next installment of my Linux Journal column was posted this
morning. Lot''s of news this time around, and a quick dive into
ParseTree.

Asterisk 0.7.1 RH 7.3 RPMS Released
Hello all,
Per my last message to the list, and my promise to the Developers
that I'd create RPMS if they released 0.7.0, I would like to announce the
availability of experimental RPMS for Asterisk release 0.7.1. These are
targeted at RedHat 7.3 systems, running the latest Kernel release
(2.4.20-28.7). As the RPMS mature and people submit comments, changes,
updates and patches, I will

transaction->t_forget == NULL assertion failure with data=journal
It appears that this bug in data=journal mode,
https://listman.redhat.com/archives/ext3-users/2005-February/msg00045.html
isn't fixed in 2.6.11.11.
Andrew, I've CC'd you since you have previously looked at this specific issue.
I'm seeing this problem on dual-Opteron x86-64 boxes serving NFS + Samba3 to
a few dozen clients; it takes several hours at high load to reproduce.

[LLVMdev] The OCaml Journal: first article on LLVM
The OCaml Journal just published its first article on LLVM. This article
describes the basic use of LLVM for static and JIT compilation from OCaml
programs, including passing data from OCaml to run-time generated code and
the compilation of non-trivial expression trees (including control flow
constructs).

Italicize journal article in mid text
Hi,
I need to italicize the journal in a citation but have thus far failed. How
can I make 'Journal of Something' below italic but leave the rest plain?
mtext( "See Author1 and Author2 (2007) , \"Title\", Journal of Something ,
pp. 1-50.", side = 3, outer = T, line=-0.75, cex = 0.7, at= 0.04, adj = 0,
font = 1, family = "Times")
Thanks

gmirror+gjournal: unable to boot after crash
Hi,
after one month with gmirror and gjournal running on a 7.0-RELEASE #p2 amd64 (built from latest CVS source), the box hung a couple of times when on high disk load. Finally, while building some port it won't boot for no reason obvious to me.
This is what I get with kernel.geom.mirror.debug=2:
