Cisco 7914 Expansion Unit (for 7960G IP Phone) & Help With 7960's Speed-dials
Hi, Has anybody been successful in running the 7914 expansion unit for the Cisco 7960G IP phone? For anybody unaware of what the expansion unit does, it provides 14 additional buttons, with an LCD display. The idea, is that with an expansion unit (a 7960 can take upto 2 of these units), a user can either assign more speed-dial's, or can monitor line status/account status. So, you can

Backup Proxy & Automatic Failover
Hi, I read in the Asterisk Whitepaper, that you can run two cloned servers, one as a primary, one as a backup, and have them automatically failover to the other unit when it crashes, or when you need to restart it. The primary application of course, would be ensuring calls can be made when frequent updates are being handled, or when an update must be restarted on a busy network. The term

Cisco 79xx Ringtones
Hi, I'm after two very specific ringtones for the 79xx's... A dog barking, and a horse either galloping or neighing. I've tried making the sounds, but for some bizarre reason they're not working. I used to make quite a few ringtones for the 79xx's, but I seem to have forgotten how to do it! And to top things off, I can't even find the documentation on Cisco's site

Mailing list archives searchable ?
Hi, I've been on the list for slightly under a month now and noticed; a) a fairly high amount of traffic, b) a lot of questions which come up more than once, c) the archives at lists.digium.com are not searchable. I have started development to import the mailinglist archives into a MySQL database and creating a full text search possibility on this. My questions; 1) Is this already done

Grandstream wallmount??
Am I the only one that has noticed there is no way to wallmount a Grandstream phone? There are screw notches on the back, but no hook to hold the handset in. -- Dave Weis "I believe there are more instances of the abridgment djweis@sjdjweis.com of the freedom of the people by gradual and silent encroachments of those in power than by violent

chan_sccp/SEP<mac>.cnf.xml
HI all: I have spent a large amount of time configuring/installing phones connected to Asterisk. Halfway through the process I discovered that my Cisco7960 with 2 7914 expansions was not supported in the SIP protocol. After reverting to SCCP 6.0(4.0) I am now perplexed with the hassle of configuring SCCP to properly work with Asterisk. So far I have gotten the phone to dial and receive calls

Sun Servers with UltraSparc Processors
Hi, I'm just considering buying two Telecoms grade Sun Netra's to run a lab-based VoIP solution. Not my immediate thoughts as a VoIP platform, but from what I've heard, they can run Linux, and run it well. Only thing is: The Wiki and the Whitepaper just state that Asterisk is for the x86 architecture, but has been compiled to run on PPC architectures. No mention of UltraSparc.

Cisco 79xx + asterisk + some functions Q
Hi, I am new to Asterisk and have some general questions _before_ I start buying equipent to install and get everything up-and-running. (this means I have no running Asterisk (yet)). I have read already a lot of doc, but some things are not clear to me, since I'am inexperienced in Asterisk and PBX. The goal: Make PBX using Asterisk and Cisco 79xx equipment for 25 phones (1 x 7970, 4 x 7960,

Auto Starting Asterisk
Hi, I'm a newbie to the list, but have been screwing around with Asterisk for the last 6 months or so (on a purely experimental basis so far). I'm not a linux expert by any stretch, (I'm a Mac OS X user), so I'm unsure where the line is drawn in terms of Linux issues or Asterisk issues. At present, I have to manually start Asterisk from the command line, but I'd like to

Doorbells & Door Intercoms
Hi, Does anybody know of a VoIP compatible doorbell or door intercom unit? I've contemplated buying a cheap SIP phone, ripping it apart, and putting it inside an IP66 sealed unit... It would need: - At least one speed-dial key, or some way to make every button dial the same extension number - PoE (power over ethernet), so I can power it off the central switch - cheap enough to rip apart

Second Hand Servers - How Powerful?
Hi, I'm looking at setting up a small production system - predominantly for voice mail and IVR (with a few extensions and hold music MP3's). I've found a couple of IBM X330 servers, with dual 1.13Ghz P3 processors. My question is; is a dual 1.13Ghz P3 server sufficient to run for real-life demands? I come from a Unix/Mac background, so I'm not swayed by the '3Ghz'

Replacing all NA values in a matrix
OK, dumb question, and it is probably in the docs somewhere, but after 12 months working with R and quite a while looking at the docs, I still don't know (or have forgotten) how to replace all NA values in a matrix at once with some other value. I can do it column by column using is.na(), but I can't figure out how to do it for the whole matrix. My apologies, I am ashamed ;-) Michael

what writes to /root/.cache/mesa ?
Dear All, I have several CentOS 7 machines (but not all of them) on which I have noticed that something gets written to /root/.cache/mesa every so often (once every several days). It is my understanding that mesa is related to GUI (X11), but on these machines (on neither of my machines, actually) root never logs in to GUI X11. I may have remote root logins with Xforwarding though. Hence my

R-help: beginner question
Hi, I am a beginner user of R. I have a trivial question ? I am almost ashamed I cannot figure it out does not matter how many times I am reading the help. I have a table in .txt format, tab delimited. I can read it with ?read.delim()? with no problems. Afterwards I would like to use boxplot function to see if there are any outliers in the column 5 of my data called TPAH16.ppm In the

Updated Asterisk-NL
I have updated the voice prompts (mostly small fixes, but still work left to be done - however, it's usable now, I'd say) and the patch file (to current CVS) for Asterisk-in-Dutch. As far as I can tell, all of the grammar work is now in - if anyone has feedback to share, please do so before I spend lots of time cleaning up the patches so they can be integrated back.

How is R working in multicore and multiprocessor environment?
My Dear R buddies, I'm feeling ashamed that I've been running my R program on some servers for a while but do not know exactly how R is working. The servers are chained together using Sun Grid Engine. Each node has 8 quad-core CPUs. I wonder how many cores and CPUs are used by a simple single-thread R program. Thanks a lot. Best wishes, -- ??? Hesen Peng
