RTP path with Cisco CCM
Hi, I have the following config: [7960] <--skinny--> [Cisco CCM] <--SIP_trunk--> [asterisk] <--SIP--> [X-lite] Is there a chance to avoid the RTP stream from passing through the Cisco CCM ? I would like to have all RTP handled by the *. This is just a testbed, for a larger project. What I want to achieve, is actually this: [Cisco Phone] <--skinny--> [Cisco CCM]

dtmfmode: inband question
Hello folks. I'm not sure if this is the right list for this question, but I'll start here. If I'm using a SIP provider and I have an entry in sip.conf that looks like: [8315551212] type => friend ... dtmfmode => inband ... When I pick up the phone, call someone through this provider, and press numeric digits to generate dtmf tones, who is actually generating the tones at the

Cisco 7960 Skinny calling SIP phone
Before I got down the path of converting a Cisco 7960 I have over to SIP I wanted to try and set it up using Skinny. The phone registers ok with Asterisk. When I call a SIP softphone extension on my network the call is made and I can answering it. However no voice is heard over the call. When I debug Skinny on the console after the call has connected I see the following messag: Recieved Alarm

DMTF Mode
Hi, Which DTMF mode do people mostly use? I've tried SIP INFO and RFC2833 but although Asterisk recognises the tones (for feature usage), the tones arent repeated to the end user. So if I call a company that has a menu system, I can't use the menu. Thanks Dan -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:

Making a Skinny phone talk to Asterisk
I have a few 7960 Skinny phones. I've edited the skinny.conf file, but I'm a little unsure as to how get the phone to figure out which ip address it should register with when it boots. How do I do that? I already have a tftp server for my SIP based phones. Do I need a tftp server for skinny configs at all? And if so, can it be the same tftp server as the SIP ones use (I'm not sure

simple question on sip.conf
Hi folks, I want to fix hole in my asterisk set up. I use Vocal as my sip proxy and * for voice mail and the g/w to PSTN, Iconnect, fwd etc. So from Vocal I redirect sip requests which needs to go 'other' places. This senario works fine. Now the issue is someone else running a vocal or another SIP proxy can redirect his calls to my * as well. Those calls two will come through general

Asterisk Guru help needed for DISA troubles
I have a setup which allows users to access my asterisk box via FWD. That is, a user in say, France can call into a local access number for FWD, then hit number 7 which dumps them into a DISA request for a password, which then dumps them into my internal extension so they can dial out through a VOIP provider. Everything works fine until they enter their tones for the number they are calling

Skinny protocol documentation
Is there a place where I can find documentation on the Skinny protocol in Asterisk? I did a search, but I cannot seem to find much... I'm looking for information on how to get a Cisco 7960 with the CM image on it to work with asterisk.. Is it support for Skinny in asterisk even mature enough to be able to do this? Thanks, - Andre

SIP and DTMF
Hello, I am fairly new to asterisk. I am currently using asterisk as a more convenient sip side voicemail system. My problem: I have cisco 7960 phones whose out of band dtmf tones are recognized properly(when dtmfmode=rfc2833) by asterisk but whose in-band dtmf tones are recognised poorly(when dtmfmode=inband) . For example 7999 comes out as 799999, 4242 comes out as 442422 ... etc I

Cisco hard IP phones and Skinny vs. SIP
I have Asterisk up and running and it is working great with my SIP phones. However, I have some "Skinny"-protocol Cisco 7960s. Does Asterisk support the Skinny protocol? I've seen some references to Skinny in the software. If so, should I stick with Skinny with the 7960 or convert to SIP? If anyone has some Skinny confs they would send me I'd be much obliged. If I should

Calls dropping off
Hi, I've got a fairly working Asterisk setup, with a few minor glitches, one of which is very very irritating. Sometimes, during a call, the remote end just drops off. We're using software SIP phones (SJPhone) connecting to * then out through analogue lines with X100P cards. There is nothing in the logs and nothing on the console, the call just seems to 'go away'! Can anyone

Cisco 12SP+
Hi, I'm thinking about getting a couple of Cisco 12SP+ phones to use on my Asterisk system. I have just bought a Cisco 7960, and they are great, but too expensive to buy a lot of them, so I though I might try the 12SP+ ones. I have seen in the archives that the phones work on Asterisk, but I can't see much in there about the images in use. When I got my 7960, it had the call manager

Cisco CallManager Image for 7940/7960
Does anyone have the .bin file(s) to convert a Cisco 7940/7960 back to the CallManager image? I want to start playing around with the chan_skinny addition, but it seems the .exe's from cisco want to open a connection to a SQL server or CallManager (which I don't have).
