* crash when forward voicemail message [problem solved]
Thanks for all your help Martin,
Guys,
This is a good find and hopefully could help someone else.
I've been having a problem with forwarding voicemail from one mailbox to
another. I ran down the sendmail and soundcard path and came up goose eggs.
With intuitive guidance from Martin Pycko (Digium), I switched from Redhat 9
Kernel linux-2.4.20-8 to Redhat 8 Kernel linux-2.4.18-14 and it

rpm corruption
I have recently deployed a number of CentOS-3.4 boxes and I am seeing
problems with rpm database apparent corruption. db4 errors like
DB_PAGE_NOTFOUND.
I have found that using LD_ASSUME_KERNEL=2.2.5 seems to fix the problem
but I can''t find much info on why or if doing that is good or bad.
I have done --rebuilddb but with the LD_ASSUME_KERNEL that might be
making thinks worse... I just

I have a question for the group.
To get this running do I need any Digium Cards? I understand I will
need them to connect to the public phone system. I'm looking at just

Thanks for any help you could give.

Fix for Redhat 9 zombie AGI processes
Hi all-
Thanks to Mark Spencer for finding this patch:
If you are experiencing leftover zombie processes from your AGI scripts that
have terminated, this is apparently due to a RedHat 9 threading issue
introduced in a recent update....
To get rid of this, try entering the following line before you start
asterisk:
export LD_ASSUME_KERNEL=2.4.1
It works for me - I'm still checking to

Wine 20030318, glibc 2.3.2, RH (not phoebe)
Wine was fine before upgrading glibc to 2.3.2 on RH 8. Since that time,
I get
$wine --version
wine: lstat /tmp/.wine-<user>/server-9-ff9be/socket : No such file or
directory
This happens no matter what user I run wine as. This also happens using
the LD_ASSUME_KERNEL work around. The only thing that changed between a
working wine, and a non-working wine was glibc, so I'm positive

Numerical Derivative / Numerical Differentiation of unknown funct ion
Hi,
I have been trying to do numerical differentiation using R.
I found some old S code using Richardson Extrapolation which I managed to get
to work.
I am posting it here in case anyone needs it.

Problem with scoping a variable value
Hi there,
I have a function which has a variable called show as an input:
richardson.grad <- function(func, x, d=0.01, eps=1e-4, r=6, show=F){
# do some things
if(show) {
cat("\n","first order approximations", "\n")
print(a.mtr, 12)
}
#do more things and return
}
The show variable is being used as a flag to show intermediate

Defunct / zombie AGI after some execution time
Hello,
We are running Asterisk-1.0.12 in a CentOS 4-4.2 system, kernel
2.6.9-42.0.3.ELsmp.
We have some custom AGI, and when we launch Asterisk the system works fine.
But **after some time**, each AGI execution generates a zombie <defunct> process.
We believe that it's not a problem in the AGI code, because Asterisk+AGI is
working fine in the first "n" minutes/hours. This

VoiceMailMain(@context) Problem with Option 5(Advanced)
I had the same problem yesterday. I thought it might have been a realtime problem. Guess not.
Bloody annoying too.

T38 Passthrough Verification
Hi All,
I have 1.4.9.1 setup, with the compiler flags enabled for T38, and
have a Mediatrix 2102 and a Linksys SPA 8000-G1. I can pass faxes
between devices but can't seem to invoke T38 pt UDPTL. It's enabled
in sip.conf [general] and well as the [peer].
I get an error at the CLI:
WARNING[3096]: chan_sip.c:14149 handle_request_invite: RTP re-invite

Stacked bar plot anomaly When column contains a negative and a positive value
Hello users,
I've noticed a problem when creating a stacked column plot when a column
contains a negative and a positive value. e.g.
series1<-c(-1,-2, 3, 4, 5)
series2<-c( 5, -4,-3,-2, 1)
data<-rbind(series1,series2)
barplot(as.matrix(data), beside=FALSE)
In these cases (i.e. first, third and fifth columns) the plotting is not
handled correctly. Compare this output with that

Dendrogram labels
Is there any way to change the orientation of the labels on the end of the dendrograms to horizontal rather than vertical? If so, how can I do that.

Initial connection after reboot is sluggish
We have an SCO server running samba with the config file below. It is in
the domain and users connect to shares on it without any issues. The SCO
server is rebooted nightly. The problem is that we have a box that has a
mapped drive connection which automatically deposits attachment files to
the rmomin share from Outlook (using CaSaveAtt) and it fails on placing its
first attachment to the

AGI problem (crash) in RH9
If you're using perl on RedHat 9 make sure you put this command somewhere in
your boot scheme:
export LANG=C
or at least execute it before running perl scripts.
Redhat has EVERYTHING set to LANG=UTF-8 and it screws up all sorts of perl
stuff, and several other pre-written programs in other languages too

Voicemail .lock- files voicemail box not accessible
Hi All,
Strange issue, recently I started getting a lot of .lock files in the
voicemail /INBOX folder preventing proper access to voicemail. I can
delete the .lock files and everything is normal. After searching
around, I found some SIP lock file stuff but nothing specific to
voicemail.
Can someone point me in the right direction to resolve this? I'm
runnning 1.2.9 on Debian Sarge.
