Polycom IP 500 - Quality Issues
Hello,
We have 15 Soundpoint IP 500 phones and recently call quality has
deteriorated. On some calls there is a static-buzzing of sorts that
occurs when users talk. It can be picked up on SIP-SIP calls and
SIP-ZAPTEL (Channel BANK<<-T100P). It basically sounds really weird
whenever someone talks, it sounds like a bee buzzing or something. Very
hard to explain. Also, there will be echo

Red Alarms - FXS(Signalling Q)
I am having a problem with Red Alarms on X100P cards.
The most frustrating thing is I can not duplicate the alarms, therefore
am not sure how to solve it. I have read after searching posts and the
web that you can try different signaling methods which may help
alleviate the problem.
There is fxsks (Which I am currently using), fxsgs, and fxsls
While reading the Digium site about these different

Polycom SoundPoint IP 300 Configuration
I just got a Polycom soundpoint and I set it up using the phone and web
based admin.
I cant seem to figure out the config files and they are confusing me
greatly and I dont have time for it :)
Some things are odd, like on every reboot it seems the volume I set is
reset? is there any way to fix that. And the ringer seems low. - Even

Polycom IP 600
I am getting ready to install Asterisk and I was looking into the Polycom
IP600 phones. I spoke with Polycom sales to verify the multiple line
appearance and they said it would work. More specifically, if lines 1-3 all
contain the same SIP registration info, the Polycom will only send out 1 SIP
registration to the server and then handle the calls ringing on multiple
lines.
I was wondering if

Thanks in advance for the info.

T1 Hardware Echo Can
Hello,
After reading the lists and taking reccomendations from TC, I have finally
given up on the echo can built into asterisk. I am sick of hearing
complaints from users, so the money spent on a hardware echo can will be
worth its weight in gold.
I am curious however, about some setup and component requirements. It
seems as if every telecom place I call, either never calls back or doesn't

Polycom IP 600 phone
Hello,
I have finally received the details from Polycom to get into the backend
configuration of their SoundPoint IP 600 SIP VOIP phone. The phone is quite
nice looking but the configs are very sparse, not even a place for a
secret(password) field in their SIP registration section.
If anyone else has one of these and needs the passwords to get into the back
end configurations, just send me an

IP 500/600 1.1.0 Firmware
Has anyone on the list been able to locate and try out the 1.1.0 firmware? It was released in November, but I have yet to get my hands on it. The Polycom site has way more docs online, but the link to the firmware only brings up the release notes.

Progress on the Polycom front...
Hello,
Good news on the Polycom front for those that are interested. It looks like
we may get a dedicated Engineer for Polycom/Asterisk!!! Happy Day!
Here's the message I got tonight:
Matt:
I heard back from our VP of Engineering- she is prepared to have an
individual dedicated to working on the Digium- Asterisk project.
Can we discuss again Friday or mid next week?

Polycom Soundpoint 500
I have a Polycom Soundpoint IP 500 that I have been using with Asterisk
for a few weeks. It has been working OK, no major problems other than a
freeze up every now and then, until today. The power apparently went
out last night and for some reason the phone appears to be working but I
keep getting the following errors repeating over and over in my Asterisk
log file (IP's X'ed out):

Polycom Soundpoint IP400
I am trying to use a Polycom Soundpoint IP400 with my asterisk setup,
and have been unable to find the proper firmware and application files
to make it work. The phone can access the FTP server, and downloads the
IP500/600 configuration files, but claims that the sip.ld file is larger
than its file system.
I can think of two possible ways to make this work.
One is to find the IP400

All you polycom folks.....
Just out of curiosity,
What version of CVS and Polycom SIP software are you running happily?
Are you running SIP 2.3.0 yet? 2.2.0? 2.1.0?
I tried upgrading the CVS yesterday, with a mixed mode of 2.2 and 2.1 with
poor results. Transferring did not work as expected. Using the # key to
do blind transfers after a call was on hold did not work.
Just curious.
Thanks,
- Brent

Polycom SIP 1.3.1 & Reject Button
Hello,
I recently upgraded to Sip 1.3.1 and noticed that the Reject Button is
no longer appearent on the screen when a second incoming call comes in
unless I press the hold button on the first call.
Does anyone have a work around for this to reject a call while
continuing to talk to the first party? I should also point out that I
don't want it to be on *, as the situation varies from call

Polycom registration errors
I'm evaluating using Polycom phones for our call center and I've set
up my first phone (a SoundPoint 560) to give it a try.
The phone is working and can successfully place and receive calls.
But every minute, there's an error in the log file:

astGUIclient users should not upgrade to Asterisk 1.0.5
Hello,
Just confirmed this on my end, because of the massive changes that have been
made to callerID handling in asterisk 1.0.5 many of the features of the
astGUIclient suite will not work on this new version. The latest stable
version recommended is Asterisk 1.0.3. We will work on trying to find ways
around the new callerID rules that the asterisk developers have put in place
and hope to have

New ASTGUICLIENT released: 1.0.1
Hello,
We've released another update to our Asterisk GUI Client suite:
http://astguiclient.sf.net/
Screen shots: http://astguiclient.sourceforge.net/screenshots.html
The client suite runs on both Windows and UNIX and includes a dialer
(the suite is not an asterisk configuration tool)
In addition to the usual bug fixes, this is mostly an update for the
VICIDIAL dialer application.

Echo Canceller Wiring (Tellabs.. HOWTO..?)
Hello,
I have been researching Echo Can's for a while now, and wanted to post
this out to the list to solicit feedback (and if my assumptions are
correct, hopefully help others out)...
If anyone out there knows anything about wiring up an Echo Can, and my
outline below is incorrect, please let the me/list know..
I have posted the Documents I received from Tellabs at:
