Cisco Gear
Hi, I know it's not really the place, but if anybody in the UK (or US) is interested, I'm clearing out lots of new Cisco stock... 7970G's (colour LCD), 7960G's, 7940G's, 7920G's (wireless IP phone), 7935's (conference phone) and 3550-24-PWR switches. I also have boxes of 7914's, the single-7914 foot stand and double-7914 foot stand (these are required to

Cisco 7914
I am looking into the possibility of buying a Cisco 7960 with a 7914 expansion module. I know a lot of people are using the 7960, but I haven't read much about the 7914 and I was wondering if anybody has used this module with Asterisk? -- Thank you for your time __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Cisco 7960 SIP + 7914
I found a few mentions of the 7914 being used with Asterisk, these all covered SCCP/skinny though. Does anyone know if the 7914 can even be used with SIP? If so, any pointers? Is it a services thing? Anyone get the operator (line/extension status) to work with it. Thanks for the help, Cisco doesn't even mention ANYTHING about SIP + the 7914. Matt

Cisco 7961G + 7914 Expansion Module
All, Since I have now (at least partially) got my 7961G phones working with Asterisk, I have temporarily moved on to try to get the expansion modules working. There doesn't seem to be much in the way of documentation here either. Does anyone have this combination working (or any 79X1) here? My goal is ultimately to do the monitoring approach. I have Google'd around, but come up

Cisco 7961 + 7914, speeddials, BLF & Asterisk 1.4?
Hi, Does anyone have any experience with a Cisco 7961 + 7914 Operator Console setup and speeddials/BLF on Asterisk 1.4? Would appreciate feedback if this works reliably. I have a 7961 on skinny registering on an 1.4.19 box with chan_sccp and speeddials work fine so that part seems ok. I have no experience with the BLF part. >From googling around it seems that BLF on the 7914 only works with

7960 + 7914 Problems
I'm still having problems getting this to work. I cannot get anything to display on my 7914 other than blank lines. I have SIP/5920-5930 in [main] that I'd like to add to the 7914 and indicate hook status. The 7960 is registering okay as SCCP/5000. What exactly should my sccp.conf file look like? When I make changes to this, how do I enact them? Do I reload Asterisk and reboot the phone

Cisco 7912 speed dials
Hi ! We have Cisco 7912 phones, and the doc says that I can "create up to four speed dial buttons on my phone using the Cisco CallManager". Does anyone knows which protocol is used to configure speed dials (Is it documented somewhere) ? Did someone tried to reverse engineer the protocol ? It would be cool, not having to pay $15000 just for configuring speed dials on those phones ;-D

Cisco 7914 with sccp
I was wondering if anyone had any experience getting a 7960+7914 working with any of the chan_sccp modules. I've got a 7960G with 6.0(5.0) and a factory fresh 7960G with 3.1(MF.G2). I've got 2 7914s fresh out of the box brand new. I hook them up and all I get is red lights on all of the buttons. When I go into the phone to see what version firmware they have it says "Link State:

Cisco 79xx Ringtones
Hi, I'm after two very specific ringtones for the 79xx's... A dog barking, and a horse either galloping or neighing. I've tried making the sounds, but for some bizarre reason they're not working. I used to make quite a few ringtones for the 79xx's, but I seem to have forgotten how to do it! And to top things off, I can't even find the documentation on Cisco's site

Busy Lamp Field SIP Phone
Does anyone have a recommendation for a good SIP phone with a busy lamp field? I need my operator to be able to see extension status for about 20 extensions and transfer via HOLD + extension button. I've got a pair of SNOM 360s with the sidecar, but I'm very disappointed with them. The buttons are cheap and rubbery like a Sipura 841, the handset cord is short and cheap, the audio quality

Cisco 7960 SIP speed dial
I'm having great success using Cisco 7960s with Asterisk but one Cisco 7960 specific function that's puzzling me is programming the 'line buttons' (6 buttons on the upper right side of the phone) for speed dial. I'm not using any Cisco applications like Call Manager and the phones are SIP. *All* of the documentation I've found over the last several days continues to refer

chan_sccp/SEP<mac>.cnf.xml
HI all: I have spent a large amount of time configuring/installing phones connected to Asterisk. Halfway through the process I discovered that my Cisco7960 with 2 7914 expansions was not supported in the SIP protocol. After reverting to SCCP 6.0(4.0) I am now perplexed with the hassle of configuring SCCP to properly work with Asterisk. So far I have gotten the phone to dial and receive calls

Setup speed dials on Cisco 7921
I've added lines like this: speeddial = 123,test speeddial = 260,Bob in the [device] section for my 7921, but the speed dials do NOT appear on the menu (click right from the main screen). Am I missing something obvious here? Thanks MD -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:

CISCO 7960G FIRMWARE
Hi everybody, I will receive my CISCO 7960G tomorrow. I've ordered it as a "global spare" without any callmanager licence. Now I don't know if I can get firmware-updates so could please someone send me the SIP-firmware? Is the default firmware the "skinny" one? Wich would be better to use with asterisk? Thank you very much

Cisco 7960G, Skinny.conf, and reboots
I could use some skinny/Cisco help here. Was finally able to get the phone registered to * but whenever someone tries to call that phone it freezes and reboots itself. Same thing happens when you pick the handset up off the 7960G; it locks and reboots about 5 sec later. Here is what * shows when I plug the phone in: -- Starting Skinny session from 64.72.107.1 Device SEP000F3442E4A7 is

Cisco 7960g
I'm trying to set-up Asterisk server and I would like to buy 2 SIP phones. Has anybody tried Cisco 7960G? Or 7940? What audio compressions can I use with this phone and Asterisk? Reason why I'm asking is because Cisco supports G.711 and G.729a audio compression (probobaly some tohers but they are not listed on data sheet) and on Asterisk features i found that it supports G.729 but need

Problem with chan_sccp and cisco 7960
Hi ! On Cisco 7960 (with or without 7914 add-on module) when I press speakerphone button (or select line with line button - which automatically put second line on speakerphone) after about 15-20 seconds of dialtone Asterisk stable dies (seg fault). Tested versions of Asterisk are 1.0.2, 1.0.3 or 1.0.5, chan_sccp is newest form CVS of chann-sccp.sourceforge.net ). Firmware of 7960 is

Cisco 79xx + asterisk + some functions Q
Hi, I am new to Asterisk and have some general questions _before_ I start buying equipent to install and get everything up-and-running. (this means I have no running Asterisk (yet)). I have read already a lot of doc, but some things are not clear to me, since I'am inexperienced in Asterisk and PBX. The goal: Make PBX using Asterisk and Cisco 79xx equipment for 25 phones (1 x 7970, 4 x 7960,
