question re voicemail
Hi,
I just setup my * with digium. I started testing voicemail first between atas, and i am not sure why it is not prompting me any when the call is not answered or if busy. i only get continuous ringback and the following message:
asterisk*CLI>
-- Executing Dial("SIP/6882332-1697", "SIP/5104112978|20|tr") in new stack
-- Called 5104112978

RFC3389 messages with ATA 186
I'm getting some warnings:
NOTICE[xxx]: File rtp.c, Line 264 (process_rfc3389): RFC3389 support
incomplete. Turn off on client if possible
Asterisk Version: CVS-01/06/04-13:50:26
Cisco ATA 186 version: v3.0.0 atasip (Build 031210A)
Is this something I should be concerned about? Anyone know how to "turn
off" the RFC3389 support on the ata 186?
Thanks!

[virtio-dev] [PATCH v3 00/15] virtio-mem: paravirtualized memory

Hi Hui,
thanks for playing with the latest versions. Surprisingly, I can
reproduce even by hotplugging a DIMM instead as well - that's good, so
it's not related to virtio-mem, lol. Seems to be some QEMU setup issue
with older machine types.
Can you switch to a newer qemu machine version,

Error on CentOS 5
I just installed CentOS 5 on a computer. On boot, I get the a error message,

EXACT same hardware. Could someone please tell me what these error are and
if there is some known way to prevent them?

Identifying physical disks
I am sure this is really simple.
I have a setup of 2 disks (sda, sdb) which are outwardly identical, and
are mirrors of each other. Together they form 3 raid1 devices. Both
disks can boot.
Now sda has bad sectors, and I should replace it. But which one of the
physical disks is sda??
The machine boots fine from either one of the disks, (and the booting
disk of course is always called sda).

Despite the error messages, the disks seem to be working with no problems.

I searched the Net for these errors and they seem

NAT working outbound with Asterisk and ATA-186 phones
Thanks, Mark!
Here's a summary of what one needs to do in order to get NAT working
with Asterisk. Please note that I have a Cisco ATA-186, and your
experience may be slightly different based on the equipment you're
using. You'll need to have a CVS updated version of Asterisk as
2003-03-06 ~2:00 PM EST.
NOTE: This currently works for outbound calling only, not inbound.

miserable time with Cisco ATA186
I'm having a horrible experience getting a Cisco ATA-186 to work with *.
I can make calls from the ATA with no problems. However, incoming calls
make the ATA ring once, and then the call is disconnected. I have no
problems with my Sipura 2000 or my Grandstream phones.
I am running 2.16.1 sip code on the ATA 186. Neither * nor the ATA is
behind a NAT. They are both on public IP addresses

Re: h323ep----gnugk-----astersik------h323ext
HI;
Thanks for your reply.
The reason for why I am going through asterisk in such case is just "using
asterisk voicemail service"
I mean:
ATA1 calls ATA2, suppose ATA2 is unreachable or he is not at the office,
then the call reroute (my GK is able to reroute calls if the first route is
not valid) to atersik for voicemail service.
Do you think I can handle it with asterisk native

OpenSUSE 10.3 HVM installer ATA difficulties
I''ve been trying to install OpenSUSE 10.3 as an HVM guest without much
success. I''ve been using the mini network installation image
`openSUSE-10.3-GM-i386-mini.iso''.
First I had to binary-edit the iso to turn off gfxboot, which breaks
with current xen-unstable. (In theory you can turn off gfxboot by
holding down shift but it is almost impossible to get the timing

Lots of DMA messages on FreeBSD 10

x101p + Nortel ATA2
Hi,
Does anyone have any experience connecting Asterisk to a Meridian
system using an ATA2 and x101p?
The basics work -- I can make outbound calls, receive inbound, and use
flash to transfer calls, but certain things do not work, specifically
with calls from internal extensions.
- Does the Meridian/ATA2 pass any kind of callerid info? We do not
have external callerid, but I'm not even

Asterisk terminates unexpectedly with SIP call and G.723 codec
Hi,
I'm using a Cisco ATA186 and iConnect to complete PSTN calls to the US.
I've noticed that when I set the Cisco ATA to use LBRCodec to 0 (g.723
instead of g.729), AudioMode 0x00150015 and RxCodec, LxCodec to 0, (use
g.723) Asterisk will connect to iConnect, successfully natively bridge
the call and then about two seconds later not just drop the call, but
terminate unexpectedly.

hardware issues? driver issues?
Got a bunch of servers from Penguin. Supermicro m/b's H8QG6. We put a 3tb
drive in for additional workspace for the users, and some of them won't
read, others will go for weeks, then spit out DRDY errors. lshw shows the
controller as an ATI SB7x0/SB8x0/SB9x0 SATA.
I did notice that it shows

call drops after one ring
I'm trying to make a call through 2 asterisk servers, and the call
simply hangs up after one ring.
The path is like this:
ATA1 - (SIP) - server1 - (IAX) - server2 - (SIP) - ATA2
The two ATAs are registered to their respective asterisk servers and can
make and recieve calls to local extensions and call out via IAX to our
provider. But for some reason I can't call one from the other.

connecting to Iconnect here using asterisk
Hi,
I wish to connect several ATA186 Phones to each other, to iconnecthere and
to the PSTN using asterisk.
Please tell the appropriate settings for firewall (ports to open etc.)
sip.conf and extensions.conf(part relevant to iconnect).
Also I would be glad to get a working example of your ATA186 configuration.
I tried searching the mailing lists and several sites but did not find an
answer.

Free World Dialup behind NAT
Hi,
after reading about it on the list I decided to set up a Free World
Dialup account. For those of you who don't know, that is a sip proxy
where you and your friends can singn up free and then you can just
connect to it with any sip client and call anybody that is registered
for free. Pretty much like iaxtel (I belive that was the name of it) for
the iax protocol. It even supports clients
