Wine menu dont show in application menu
Wine was on my Ubuntu 9.04 and I uninstalled. As the icons were not deleted from the Applications menu, I manually delete them. The problem comes now: I've reinstalled Wine, and now that I dont see icon of Wine in the Applications menu. Then I went to the menu editor and I have to Revert button, but nothing ... Wine is "fine" because I've installed some applications on it. I

Again Asterisk and VMWare - it works now!
Hi, I have succeed using Asterisk on VMWare on an Athlon@1GB with 128 MB allocated for the Linux virtual machine. I have connected this PBX with another one using IAX/GSM. I can call the other part and the sound is great, without any interruption. The phone used is a Cisco7960 with G.711, so still a codec conversion is in place (GSM/G.711) and Asterisk/VMWare Wkst performs very well. The problem

Multiple comparisons with a glm
I've never seen anything written about multiple comparisons, as in the multcomp package or with TukeyHSD, but using a glm. Do such procedures exist? Are they sensible? Are there any packages in R that implement such comparisons? Black background in WoW with direct x.
Hello. I am an avid gamer and someone who always wants to go full Linux, but I always end up booting into Windows more than I want just to game. I am currently only playing WoW which I know runs flawlessly in WINE so I decided to swap back over. Everything was working fine and I decided to do a reinstall of Ubuntu going from 10.04 to 10.10, so I did a full format and reinstall. I just run WoW

[PATCH 1/3] file: Avoid unsupported fallocate() calls
When using file systems not supporting ZERO_RANGE (e.g. NFS 4.2) or block device on kernel < 4.9, we used to call fallocate() for every zero, fail with EOPNOTSUPP, and fallback to manual zeroing. When trimming, we used to try unsupported fallocate() on every call. Change file handle to remember if punching holes or zeroing range are supported, and avoid unsupported calls. - can_trim changed

OpenOffice.org 3.1 installation was corrupted-installed again, nothing in Applications/Office menu
I had a corrupted installation of OpenOffice.org 3.1. When I used "yum remove openoffice.org-core" the response was "package openoffice.org-core available but not installed", but then, when I used "yum install openoffice.org-core there was a long list of Transaction Check Errors. I then removed openoffice.org3.1-redhat-menus-noarch which was in the errors. Here's the

Logical test and look up table
Dear R users, I have a data frame with one column (4000 rows) containing name codes (factor with 63 levels). I would like to associate each name with a particular Type (coded as 1,2,3,4,H or H1) in a second column. Is it possible to do a lookup table of associations (i.e. A23 is of type 1, A13 is of type 3 ...) so as to fill up automatically the $Type column. df() $Source $Type A23 A24 A9 A32

Turning off Wine Applications menu integration
Hi there, I've recently noticed that wine now has a desktop menu integration, however it follows exactly the windows menu layout and this is annoying. The problem with this IMHO is that windows menus are a sprawling mess, this is part of the reason the freedesktop.org standard for desktop menus was established in the first place. Having to walk a long set of menus to get to what you want

Muted sound on a Linksys 962
Hi, One of our customers has an issue with the callee not being able to hear them. It seems to happen very frequently on one number in particular where there are about 3 IVR menus to dial through before getting to a live person. However, this does not happen on every call. Running tcpdump on the RTP packets, I can see that RTP is setting sent, but the values in the packet are all very close to

Out Of Band DTMF and SIP
I am currently using Asterisk with G.711 codecs and in-band DTMF for several Cisco 7960's and an Audiocodes GW. When allowing out-of-band DTMF, I could use voicemail menus and anything else on Asterisk that required DTMF but I could not get the DTMF relayed out of the GW. Has anyone verified that this works between 2 SIP devices? If so, I would be interested in your settings. Also, I would

adding a line to a single panel of a lattice plot
I'm struggling to find a way to add a line (abline, lline or lmline) to a single panel of a lattice plot. In one panel, there is an outlier and I'd like to include a second lmline fit to the data without this point. I've looked through nine pages of the archives on lattice and it wasn't obvious (to me) what additional search keyword to add to hone in on this, although I would

AIC in glm.nb and glm(...family=negative.binomial(.))
Can anyone explain to me why the AIC values are so different when using glm.nb and glm with a negative.binomial family, from the MASS library? I'm using R 1.8.1 with Mac 0S 10.3.4. >library(MASS) > dfr <- data.frame(c=rnbinom(100,size=2,mu=rep(c(10,20,100,1000),rep(25,4))), + f=factor(rep(seq(1,4),rep(25,4)))) > AIC(nb1 <- glm.nb(c~f, data=dfr)) [1] 1047 >
