Siemens TC35 GSM gateway
Hi all, I have a TC35 and am keen to see if anyone has both voice and sms working from Asterisk through this device? Google tells me that a few people have theorised about it, I can't find anyone claiming to be doing it. What would be the best way to put it into practice? Build a new channel for it? Thanks Andrew

[Bridge] bridge problem when one interface is in blocking mode
Hi, We have a simple bridge setup but the ping (and other network traffic) does not work reliably. After tracing the code, it looks like a software bug. Since bridge software is been running by thousands of people. I guess I am wrong. Anyway, here is the problem. There are 2 boxes and each one has 2 interfaces, 1 ethernet and 1 wifi. STP is enabled for the bridge to avoid the loop. So the box 1

Legacy Toshiba Phones
I found some postings from Google (notably from Mark Spencer) about successful integration of a legacy Toshiba Strata system and Asterisk. I am also facing that current dilemma. The general legacy solutions that I can come up with is very easy -- either making Asterisk a "proxy" (or frontdoor) to the Toshiba system, or have it operate behind the Toshiba via regular extensions. I'm

E17 on CentOS6?
Hello there, does anyone have experience setting up Enlightenment E17 on a CentOS6 system? I know that the RPM's are available from: http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/X11:/Enlightenment:/Factory/CentOS_CentOS-6/x86_64/ but don't have a single clue about how to switch from my GNOME desktop to it once installed. Any way to boot a CD if no BIOS support & CD-ROM is not 100% standard?
I originally asked in a hardware/software forum, but, got basically no results. It occured to me that if anyone would know, it would be you people. What I'm wanting to do is set up a rescue disc for a really old laptop. It needs to boot up a linux based CD, hopefully with minimal to no working stuff on the harddrive (I plan to put a floppy image to be written to a disk when needed to do the

RedHat 9.0 and 100 percent CPU utilization
Please, don't hate me because I use Redhat. I am aware that I am asking for problems in running Asterisk on Redhat. I recently aquired a nifty server, moved my digium cards, and installed asterisk. I noticed that one of the four processors was being used at 100% and nothing was working. I tracked CPU utilization back to the Asterisk process. Please, help. James

VoIP over Alvarion Wireless
Hi, This question isn't specifically asterisk related, but perhaps someone here can shed some light or offer some insight. Is anyone else here running VoIP over Alvarion wireless? If yes, do you have any suggestions for what you've done to make it "work"? It seems that no amount of traffic shaping, checking installs for error rates, lowering error rates, or setting

P2P RTP without SIP re-invites
I'm confronted with an issue that I am sure many others are too with Asterisk and scalability. I'd like to be able to build a cluster of Asterisk boxes to handle a large volume of simultaneous calls but have the feeling that the hardware requirements to handle large volumes of RTP streams would be too vast. So with that assumption I imagine a platform that would not get involved with the

re: 120 GB larger hard disk
Hi, I donĀ“t think that this is a ext3 Problem, since you have problems partitioning that disk. Perhaps a hdparm -i /dev/hdX could shine some light on this, also a fdisk -l /dev/hdX could be useful. For now - let me guess: <guess> To me, it seems, that the disk is clipped to 32GB, perhaps the mainboard bios can not cope with a disk >32GB - just a thought. Since the manufactorer

Specifications: PCI or MiniPCI up to 120 concurrent transcodings Codecs: G.729/G.729A or

how to interconnect gnugk and asterisk?
Hello folks. We are trying to interconnect an asterisk installation with a gnugk 2.0.5 installation to become able to use some H323 hardware that needs a gatekeeper (particulary an Ericsson WebSwitch 100). We have managed asterisk to dial H323 endpoints successfully (although calls are interrupted immediately after connection with "spawn extension exited non-zero"), but we could not

Miax: Digital voice channel when connecting to asterisk
Hi, I've bought a Siemens GSM-modem based on the Siemens TC35-module. I studied the operation manual of the modem and found, that for transferring voice via the RS232 wire, the module supports "RS232-mulitplexing" and wires the voice data on a separate "channel" (whatever this means on RS232?). Now I wonder, whether that feature is supported by miax. All what I read

Hardware compatibiltiy list -- NetUPS
Hallo, I own a NETUPS 450 (Model on the sticker: PRM 450i; upsstats reports "UPS 450 VA FW -0024") which perfectly works with the upscode2 driver. Maybe you want to add it to your list, even if the model is >10 years old. I suppose this is true for the whole series. According manual the come in the 450VA, 700VA, 1000VA and 1500VA strengths. They have been sold under different

"small examples": in context of learning API of new large lib (as LLVM is), personally I like small examples very much, and the smaller examples are, the more i like them :P So, I find your idea great. Well, have a nice day, guys!

OFFTOPIC: Ioannidis et. al. on non-reproducible research
**** OFFTOPIC **** These links were sent to me by a friend and are kind of a followup to Sarah Goslee's recent off topic post on the Rogoff Excel spreadsheet goof, which I appreciated, that I hope will be of interest to this list's readers. I apologize if I have taken too much license. I will also crosspost it to stackexchange, where it is more appropriate. **Please reply privately if
