Re: BRI cards, HFC, and bristuff - a general questionto clear up my understanding.
Does anyone test Asterisk 1.2.X + bristuff-0.3.X and TDM card? We can't
get it to work.

perl --> manager problem
I am having some issues when trying to connect with perl to the asterisk
manager and doing an "IAX2 show channels".
If i do that on a server that is heavily loaded, i sometimes get some
events instead of the channels i asked for.
Any suggestions how i could fix that ?

Suggested Motherboard for TE410P
Hi all,
I'm looking for a new system which will use the TE410P. Originally I was
going to use a dual Athlon MP system, but my supplier tells me these are
being phased out now, and so will be difficult to find replacement parts
later.
So, I am looking for suggestions of suitable motherboards with 3.3V PCI
slots for the following CPU types (in order of my personal preference)

kernel: Out of storage space while 900 MB free?
Hi,
after loading the zaptel driver wct4xxp I have strange
log lines in the syslog:
Out of storage space.
free tells, that more than 900 MB are still free.
Disk space is also available.
I'm using a dual opteron in 64 bit mode.
Any ideas?
Roger.

G729 license counting
Hello,
How many licenses to buy?? :
From what we understood from digium website, we must buy as many
licenses as the number of maximum simultaneous calls using G729 Codec we
wish to make.
For example, If we want to be able to make a maximum of 10 simultaneous
calls using G729 Codec, we must buy 10 licenses.
Is it right?
Thanks you

Problem with chan_iax.c implimentation causesbadaudio?
We upgraded all five servers to 1.2.4. We tried trunking/notrunking.
End users use an IAX2 softphone on their desktop PCs. Agents are VLANed
and all IAX2 traffic is QoS'd on all LAN and WAN legs. Calls flow from
the agents to the local Asterisk server as IAX2/ulaw. Then they went
over the IP-VPN as IAX2/g729 (we tried ilbc and straight ulaw as well).
Calls get to the PSTN from the

Astricon - call for help
Hi all,
I'm trying to make a paper/presentation for astricon with a lot of graphs
and performance statistics for asterisk.
I'll try to handle:
- differences between the 2.6 kernel and the 2.4 series
- differences in hardware, ranging from slow embedded pc's to SMP setups.
- difference between opteron and xeon
- difference between icc and gcc (if i find a way to compile it). + maybe

Experience with Xen & AMD Opteron 4200 series?
Hey,
I am currently considering a two machine Xen setup based on AMD Opterons,
more precisely Dell R515s or R415s with dual Opteron 4274HE.
Does anyone has some Xen setup(s) running on top of Opterons 4274HE,
Opteron 4200 or Dell R515 machines and is willing to share some experience?
In particular, I am interested in using Debian squeeze (Xen 4.0.1, Linux
2.6.32) for dom0 and most domUs.

Hello Debian Team,
I have some strange behavior with a DL585 G7 with only two cpu sockets
used (Opteron 6238 Interlagos). I
use Debian 6.0 with a XEN Kernel. Every time when I start a DomU, the
server makes a hard reset without any kernel panic or output.

You can try to run "make" in the linux source-folder. I had the same

Opteron vs Xeon?
Hi
I'm setting up a SIP gateway, serving quite a few potential users, and
I wonder if I should purchase a Opteron or Xeon based system. Xeon has
it's HT, but is it worth it? Has anyone tested Opteron on asterisk?
Does it work well?
There'll be no transcoding in this system - G.711A all way through

Whats the '411' on echo cancellation?
Hello all,
I have a WildCard TE410P setup and working with a full PRI with the
latest CVS.
SIP and IAX2 gateways are accessing the PRI without issue, however;
echo is very
prominent in some calls and is only heard by the IAX2/SIP client. The
echo
Is not present in calls to cell phones because they are digital,
centrex land
Lines have a barely noticable echo, but analog lines aint so pretty.

* and Zap on AMD64/Opteron
Hi,
I have a server coming, which consists of an ASUS SK8N motherboard, an AMD
Opteron 1.4g cpu, and 512m of dual channel memory. If you're not familiar
with this, the amd opteron is a 64bit cpu that does hardware 32bit
emulation. It will be running suse enterprise server for AMD64.
I will not be running * on this box, but in the future it may be a good
performer. So, before it goes into

Recommendations for virt on Opteron 275 systems.
Hello, CentOS-virt list.
The institution where I work has been donated some older IBM
BladeCenters with IBM's LS-20 blade servers installed. These LS-20's
are equipped with Opteron 275 processors (dual-core, dual-socket). In
researching my virtualization options, I initially wanted to do oVirt,
but after thoroughly investigating, it appears that oVirt, being based
on KVM, will not
