"Best" VoIP provider for Asterisk?
Hello!
I would like to get connected with a VoIP provider for home. At some
point, I'm sure I will be connecting to it via an Asterisk box, but for
now, I will be using whatever hardware they provide.
What recomendations do you in the Asterisk community have for a reliable
VoIP service that will hopefully interoperate with Asterisk? A company
that is actually willing to work with an

reload not working
I upgraded to the latest CVS yesterday (and this morning again), and
whenever I execute the reload command Asterisk seems to hang. While the
current calls aren't dropped, no new calls can be made. The CLI isn't
responding properly either. The only way to get going again is to exit
the CLI and stop Asterisk and start again. Any comments?
Thanks,
Marcus

SIP Firmware for Cisco Phones
Just a quick note to people looking for SIP firmware images for Cisco
phones:
To access these files from Cisco's website, you need to have a Service
Contract (SmartNet) on at least on of your phones. I though a contract
was several hundred dollars, but it is way cheaper! Their lowest level,
1 year Next Business Day 8x5 SmartNet program, costs around $70.00, and
gives you unlimited access to

Stream Phone Call: Sound on Consule OSS to Helix server?
Hello,
I am working on a project for a client of mine, that involves streaming
an incoming phone call. I have a lot of experience with Linux, but
something that I have never attempted is using sound under Linux, as all
my machines have been servers.
Here is the plan, is it doable?
The client (a minor league baseball team) calls in to a iconnecthere.com
phone number, and Asterisk answers (this

After RC1 upgrade, temporary loss of voice
I just upgraded to RC1 from a two-three month old CVS , and noticed that
during IAX2 calls to my service provider there are periods (usually less
than 10 seconds long, minutes apart) during which the caller can not hear
me, but I can hear the caller fine.
Inter-office calls (SIP-to-SIP) does not appear to have this issue.
Has any other users experienced this?

Cisco 7960 SIP Firmware
Can someone point me in a direction where I can acquire the Cisco 7960
SIP firmware? I just purchased two phones of ebay, but they are both in
Call Manager mode.

Directory listing fails for specific user
Hello,
We have recently had a new problem with one of the users on one of our servers.
Filezilla claims it connects and authenticates, but then fails to list the directory (although no error message is output, it just eventually times out. There is the full output of filezilla located here: http://pastebin.com/tAVcSP8Y.

Gluster 11.0 upgrade
Hi Xavi,
Copy the same info file worked well and the gluster 11 arbiter
is now up and running and all the nodes are communication
the way they should.
Just another note on something I discovered on my virt machines.
All the three nodes has been upgarded to 11.0 and are working.
If I run:
gluster volume get all cluster.op-version
I get:

application Directory (Modified by Ryan Thrash)
Sent 12 hours ago and it never showed up (slightly reworded here).
Sorry if this is a duplicate:

Scenario: a person selects an Auto Attendant option that fires off the
Directory application (CVS circa 3/22). Three questions:
1) How do they escape if they didn't mean to go there in the first
place (without having to hang up...)? Config of

rsync always gets index.html
I use to sync several servers with rsync for years now. One strange thing I
still havent figured out:
while rsync does its job perfectly will, it cant refuse to transfer all files
with "index.html" in it, even if the files havent change.
example:
the following files are the same for years, but every night rsync copies them again:

Gluster 11.0 upgrade
I made a recusive diff on the upgraded arbiter.
/var/lib/glusterd/vols/gds-common is the upgraded aribiter
/home/marcus/gds-common is one of the other nodes still on gluster 10
diff -r /var/lib/glusterd/vols/gds-common/bricks/urd-gds-030:-urd-gds-gds-common /home/marcus/gds-common/bricks/urd-gds-030:-urd-gds-gds-common

Gluster 11.0 upgrade
Hi again Xavi,
I did some more testing on my virt machines
with same setup:
Number of Bricks: 1 x (2 + 1) = 3
If I do it the same way, I upgrade the arbiter first,
I get the same behavior that the bricks do not start
and the other nodes does not "see" the upgraded node.
If I upgrade one of the other nodes (non arbiter) and restart
glusterd on both the arbiter and the other the arbiter

Default exclude pattern in 0.9.0
The "rspec" rake task collects all _spec files in the spec directory,
and excludes the "watir" directory.
Is this indicating a preference for using Watir over Selenium? I would
like it better to standardize on something more neutral, ''ui'' perhaps?

geo-replication
Hi again,
I have been testing and reading up on other solutions
and just wanted to check if my ideas are ok.
I have been looking at dispersed volumes and wonder if there are any
problems running replicated-distributed cluster on the master node and
a dispersed-distributed cluster on the slave side of a geo-replication.
Second thought, running disperesed on both sides, is that a problem

CMake support for Opus proposal (in addition to Autotools)
Right that I had completely missed, I have added the files and verified that it builds with CMake from the tar on Linux (out of the git repo)
I am parsing the package_version file from the tarball if it exists so it should maintain the version info.

How to use an Application from inside an Application?
Hello,
I wonder if there is a way to build my own asterisk application (let us say
apps/app_myappl.c),
and to launch other existing applications from it (for example, doing an
apps/app_dial.c, or others).
Could someone highlight me on that?

Selenium, Spec:Ui and ... forks?
I am using Spec:UI to run my Selenium tests, and I want to start
Selenium only once, for many descriptions.
I''ve come quite far solving it by declaring a main ui spec like the following:
require ''pathname''
require File.dirname(__FILE__) + ''/selenium''
$base_url="http://localhost:3000"
