asterisk config files
Would anyone mind sending me a working set of config files for asterisk and their softphone settings? I am really looking for very basic setup stuff as I just want to show that the system works to my management before they will allow me to spend the money on phones and a telco card. Server is a redhat 7.3 w/ 512 RAM and dual 550's. Asterisk tar ball has been laid down, configured, make,

zap barge restrictions
I have a couple of questions on the zapbarge:
1) zapbarge asks for a channel - how would a manager know what channel to
enter ? Is there any way of being able to enter an extension number instead
? I know that you can get the information from the manager interface, but I
wouldn't want to give my users access to this, or have to install / write a
system just to get an extension number from a

Config File Management
I'm curious (ok, well I admit it - it's for perosnal gain) what methods people are using to manage asterisk config files when they have multiple asterisk systems?
Some sort of revision control such as cvs,rcs or subversion?
A central 'config server' where you edit the files and then rsync them out?
I have 5 systems to manage, and it seems that about the only common file is

live monitoring
Hello,
I've search through all of the lists and cannot find any descriptions of
live monitoring (monitoring a phone call going on between an extension and a
zaptel channel live from another extension while the monitoring phone is
muted). I am aware of the monitor function which is actually a call
recorder, but I'm looking for live monitoring from a muted extension. is
this easily

Call screening
I've set up asterisk with my X100P as a home answering machine. Works great
so far - answers the phone after 20 seconds, runs the phone tree, emails
voicemail, etc.
However, the one feature traditional answering machines have that I haven't
been able to figure out is how to listen in on the call. Ideally I could
just route through Console/dsp and hear it on my speakers. I've tried

7777 (simulate incoming call) not working
I'm setting up a new AAH 1.0 box to replace my AAH 0.6 box. Though on the
new box, I've installed a generic ebay X100P. I don't have my livevoip or
voicepulse accounts set up yet on the new box (can both boxes be registered
at the same time?). I've set up one IP phone (SPA841) with the new box. I
have my SBC POTS line plugged into the fxo card. I set up everything in
AMP.

Wall-mounting UIP 200 and SoundPoint IP600 keeps coming off hook
I am looking for a large number (probably about 100 or so) low-cost
phones that I can hang on the wall. I need the phones to use PoE. Do
the Uniden phones support wall-mounting? These phones are not going to
be high-usage; they simply need to be there in case of an emergency.
Another question, along the same kind of lines, has anyone figured out
how to keep the SoundPoint IP 600 receiver

Readline & readline-devel installation on RH9
I have a new user question. Sorry I know most of you are Linux experts
I am not! I am just getting my feet wet with this. And I am sorry to
ask this stupid question.
I was following an installation post from Wiki that said when using RH 9
you need to make sure that you have the following installed first and
you should check them with the following command. Are there any other

Norstar MICS
I am currently working on an Asterisk test system, and will be
presenting a demo to the Board of Directors tomorrow night. I want to
make sure I have all of my ducks in a row.
The Asterisk system will be used to replace a Norstar MICS. The
location has two PRI's coming in, with a few hundred DIDs. I know how
to make * use the DIDs incoming, and I know how Nortel uses the DIDs.
Now for the

Asterisk hosted Callwaiting???
Hi,
Is it possible to host call waiting service on Asterisk for a SIP device?
What i am trying to achieve is that while a SIP user is busy on a call and
a new call for that user comes in, asterisk should play the call waiting
tone to that user.
I have a vague idea that if i can get hold of the existing bridged channel
when a subsequent call is received, i can then redirect that channel to

Polycom DTMF
Problem:
Polycom SoundPoint IP phones (running SIP) ceases to send DTMF that
Asterisk can detect and use. It worked in 1.0.5, but has not worked
since. This has been verified on SoundPoint IP 300's and SoundPoint IP
600's.
Workaround:
It used to be that for DTMF to work, I had to set the mode in
sip.conf to "inband". Without making any configuration changes on the

Blank Voicemails
Hi, we're running Asterisk 1.2.10 and have been randomly being left
blank voicemails with long messages that we can't hear.
I've searched and searched but cannot find a solution.
This is what happens:
Internal Server runs Asterisk 1.2.10 where our mailboxes are
Incoming Server (behind a firewall) runs Asterisk 1.2.13 and calls are
bridged between this server and our internal server.

help needed-call recording
Hi,
I am trying to change the dialplan to enable call recording (incoming
and outgoing calls) on the "click of a button". Is it possible? All the
documentation I found so far, enable recording for 'all calls' to an
extension.
Does this code look ok?
Currently Recording "on" only for 1030
when user presses *44, start recording.
*55 to stop recording

Echo problem on conferencing....no analog interfaces
Okay...here's one for all of you....
3 party meet-me conference:
Call 1: Comes in to MyAsterisk on an E1 PRI into the system. All TDM,
no VoIP at all involved. No echo at all.
Call 2: Call comes in via IAX....(TDM -> Asterisk_1 -> IAX/GSM ->
MyAsterisk. Caller immediately hears his own echo
Call 3: Call comes in via IAX....(TDM -> Asterisk_1 -> IAX/GSM ->
MyAsterisk.
