Voicemail answers, but drops SIP call after about 3 seconds.
I am calling from my laptop to an asterisk box which answers the call
and I can hear the voicemail prompts, but the problem is that after so
many seconds, MSN Messenger drops the call because it thinks it hasn't
been answered by the remote machine. I'm not sure if this is an
asterisk problem, or if it is Messenger not knowing the call was
answered.
Has anyone else run into this sort of

Asterisk -- PBX Do Not Disturb
That could explain why it wouldn't work on any of my sip extensions I
tried it on this morning when I first read about it and thought cool the
things you learn.
Is there anyway to make it work on Sip extensions?
Cheers,
Dean

Voicemail notification
Besides email notification, is there another way to get asterisk notify
the user that they have a message?
Example: Some analog phones have a blinking light that lets the user
know that they have a voicemail message.
Is asterisk capable of doing this?

C7960 "busy" notification
Using the following defnitions with a C7960:
exten => 3001,1,Dial(SIP/3001,15,r)
exten => 3001,2,Voicemail2(u3001)
exten => 3001,102,Voicemail2(b3001)
exten => 3001,103,Hangup
If someone is on this phone (real conversation) and another call comes in,
the second call goes through the 15 second timeout and is dropped into the

DID trunks -- equipment requirement
Hi guys,
I posted a somewhat similar question about a month ago and got a
thoughtful resonse from Steven Critchfield, but I've got a quick follow
up question to it.
I'm looking to setup a 16 extension / 10-14 phone line Asterisk install
for a customer who would like to have DID numbers for the extensions,
since they're currently on Centrex and already have the 1-to-1

Pressing 0 in Voicemail causes * to hangup
I tried it w/ mine as well and it hung up on me because I just have
Voicemail running not Voicemail2.
It seems as though you have Voicemail2 because it's trying to play the
Unavialable message.
Just a thought though.
Does it do the samething w/

sidetone noticeably loud on analog handsets on T100P
Hi guys,
I've run into a problem that I can't figure out on a bunch of handsets I
have running into a Rhino Equipment 24-port FXS channel bank hooked up
to a T100P and running asterisk-0.9.0 and the associated stable Zaptel
release.
The sidetone (your own voice that you hear in your handset, built in for
comfort) is noticeably louder than it should be, and it doesn't seem to

Is it necessary (with reasonably current cvs) to make any changes in the
*.conf files to use Voicemail2, or is that happening

strange problem with SIP/voicemail
I'm having a very strange problem I've been fighting with all day. It's
2:30am, and I'm stuck. I think the problem may lie with one of my SIP
providers, but I'm not sure.
I have two ways to call into my test Grandstream. I can call a PSTN 360
area code number that will forward to my FWD number, which in turn is
registered with my * box on extension 2030. If I call the 360

external voicemail access - solved (mostly)
thanks to those who replied. I have managed to get the functionality I
was looking for working with a series of Macros. However, it doesn't
work as simply as I would like. There are two issues I've run into:
(1)Goto provides no way to pass variables between one context and
another.
(2)I can't find any way to Goto a specific point within a Macro when
calling it.
Mostly this is a

sendmail invocation in voicemail and voicemail2 applications
The voicemail and voicemail2 applications both invoke sendmail as
/usr/sbin/sendmail -t. However sendmail is invoked using popen(3), the
input being terminated when the pipe is closed and not when a . is entered
on a new line.
While it looks like the code at the moment can't generate a single line
with a '.', it might be prudent to apply the following patch which tells

voicemail instructions
Hi,
I've been playing with Voicemail and Voicemail2 a bit for my users, and
there are a few things I'm wondering about:
- We can specify parameters to the mailbox (s, b or u) to select which
prompts to play. However, if we specify 'b' or 'u' it plays that
(customisable) message, but it also plays the voicemail instructions. For
the dutch, it is customary that a user

Message Waiting and VoiceMail 2
Hi.
I noticed that if new messages are recorded
with voicemail2 , they're not detected by
the message waiting indicator, so
the mailbox=XXXX param has no effect, and
no message waiting is sent to the phone
(sip & adsi, or stutter dialtone)
Any hint?

passing digits for voicemail from sip gateway
I am seeing strange behavior that I don't understand. Voicemail2 and
voicemailmain2 work fine if I call from a sip phone directly connected
to *, but if I call either of them from an analog line on the other side
of a sip gateway, voicemail seems to ignore digits. If I am recording a
message and press #, nothing happens except that it records the tone
onto the message and I can't specify

writer/researcher needs your help
Dear Colleague,
I am writing to ask your help for a book I am writing about Life Practices.
I am looking for examples of those simple things that we all do that are
essential to expressing and maintaining our values as we face life's ups and
downs - our Life Practices.
What I am seeking is a bit like folklore. Something with a story and an easy
to remember slogan or catchphrase. I am asking

Voicemail and DISA fixes
I've commited changes to Voicemail2:
* Handle properly when being left a message while checking VM --
this should fix the "saving to your inbox" issue too, at least in
principle.
And to DISA:
* Properly handle extensions with multiple matches and "dots"
Please let me know on or off list about any feedback you have regarding
these changes.
