Cisco 7970
I currently have two Cisco phones, a 7960 and 7970. The 7960 has a SIP OS on it and the 7970 has a SCCP. When the 7960 powers up it loads OS79XX.TXT, SIPDefault.cnf, SIP000E3875266C.cnf, RINGLIST.DAT, and dialplan.xml. I have a Cisco SmartNet agreement with the phone so I have access to download the firmware. I recently purchased a Cisco 7970 phone and was in the process of configuring

Thanks Samba Community!!!
You folks are the greatest. Rolled out my first Samba "member server" today. Read the stuff from SWAT, and it worked the first time on RH7.3, after it failed on RH8 You folks are the best, we're struggling to stay afloat and M$ squeezes us for more. (RH is pushing me to Debian by the day!!!) There will be a lot more Samba in the farm soon. My deepest grattitude. Respectully,

Can't see all of the directories in a share with 2.2.7a-1 & RH8...but older version/kernel can
Hi all, Hoping someone might be able to steer me in the right direction and/or help me solve my problem. We have a number of Linux servers (RH6.2 -> RH8) which connect to the same share on a Win2000 Server. We've been working kinda hard to get everything upgraded to either RH7.3 or RH8.0 since we rarely get the opportunity. 2 similar servers (one dev, one prod) access this same window

Is this ext3 or bad drive sectors problem?
Hello LINUX GURUS, I am fairly new to LINUX OS, so pardon my ignorance about LINUX OS. I have installed LINUX 7.2 on IBM netfinity 4000R server. Asterisk 0.7.1 RH 7.3 RPMS Released
Hello all, Per my last message to the list, and my promise to the Developers that I'd create RPMS if they released 0.7.0, I would like to announce the availability of experimental RPMS for Asterisk release 0.7.1. These are targeted at RedHat 7.3 systems, running the latest Kernel release (2.4.20-28.7). As the RPMS mature and people submit comments, changes, updates and patches, I will

Cisco 7940 and multiple simultaneous calls
We've just started testing with Asterisk (CVS HEAD) and a pair of Cisco 7940G phones running the SIP 6.3 firmware. One issue that we've run into is the ability to have multiple calls ring to the phone. Our scenario is that the user is using an extension and another call comes in for that extension. We'd like to have that second call ring the second line -- the same extension is

RH8 guest: bad fs?
I recently reinstalled RH8 as a VMware guest on a WinXP box. I used a previously proven script at level 3, containing, in one line with no inappropriate spaces: mount -t smbfs -o user,noauto,dmask=777,fmask=777,username=xx, password=yy //DELLBOX/linuxShare /mnt/linuxShare I get a failure that reports numerous possibilities including bad fs, and other other things. I suspect I omitted a

0.99.10-rc1
Home again. Fixed SSL checking for Redhat 9, I hope. Could someone test if it actually works now? Also fixed a few compiler warnings. If this thing works, I'll just update the NEWS file and call it 0.99.10. http://dovecot.procontrol.fi/rc/ Near future plans include rewriting parts of index handling. At least .tree file will go, I've a _much_ better idea how to replace it. .data file is

- Advice on NetFinity 5000 series
I have an opportunity to pick up a couple of NetFinity 5500's 4 way Xeon 550's w/ 2 gig RAM for very little $$$ I have seen this: http://www.mail-archive.com/asterisk-dev@lists.digium.com/msg00719.html In it, there is a passing remark to the Digium cards having problems with NetFinity's. Can anyone here comment on whether this is still an issue with * 1.0? It'd be a bummer if

RH7.3 compatibility with SRPMS
I just rebuilt the Redhat SRPMS using 7.3 - I am noticed in the SPEC file some RH8/9 specific shell scripts. So far it seems to be working fine - just wondering if there is any conflicts with this..thanks in advance. # Don't depend on Net::LDAP # one filter for RH 8 and one for 9 Source998: filter-requires-samba_rh8.sh Source999: filter-requires-samba_rh9.sh # Working around perl

Sound Quality
Hi All, I've just setup a test Asterisk system that allows incoming/outgoing calls via an ISDN card (l4i) and incoming/outgoing calls via SIP (iconnecthere). I have two SIP Softphones (Xten X-Lite) for making and receiving calls. When receiving an incoming call via the ISDN interface the sound quality is fine for the Softphone user (i can hear the caller perfectly), but the person

Samba - NT4DC: Unable to change file permissions via Windows GUI
Hello, I have a RH9 Samba machine (default Server/no updates) joined to an NT4DC with an XP and another NT4 box connecting and sharing files just fine. So I thought, it came to my attention that from the Windows GUI you cannot change the permissions on a file or folder even if you own the file. I have been over the smb.conf file and tried all sorts of examples with no luck. Strange thing

Update on "Shift-Return causes segfault (PR#3293)"
Hi all, I don't read this list, so if anyone wants to respond could they please copy me so that I see what is happening. After several exchanges between myself, Marc Schwartz and Peter Dalgaard, we have come to the following conclusions: a) Shift-Return does not cause a segfault on most terminals, only Kde's Konsole. b) The bug is easily reproducable there. c) The "real"

Strange result when backing up /etc vs /root
People, My backup script has lines: dt=`date ''+%Y%m%d''` . . DELETE="--delete" . . rsync -av $DELETE --backup --backup-dir /delmod/$dt /etc /backup/ rsync -av $DELETE --backup --backup-dir /delmod/$dt /root /backup/ - only the changes to /root get backed up but ALL of /etc gets backed up everytime! - why should this happen? Thanks, Phil. -- Philip Rhoades
