Cluster installation CentOS 7.4 network problems
Hi there,
after using Foreman successful on our clusters for more than a year. I'd
like to reinstall a 90 node cluster with Centos 7.4. It's now running on
Centos 7.3 . I'm not able to just update to 7.4 because of zfsonlinux
dependencies and well - some nodes died and had to bare metal install them.
So I was able to install these nodes successfully by pxe-booting and
using a

Why not use yum mirrorlist= instead of baseurl= in CentOS-Base.repo
Currently the default yum configuration references mirror.centos.org.
When yum looks up the IP address it finds several but it will only try
one and fail if that server is down or does not have the headers for
whatever reason.
If yum were to reference a mirrorlist it would skip servers that fail
and keep trying them all until it finds one that works or exhausts all
the mirrors. Centos would

Minor fixes for openssh-SNAP-20001028
I've attached a patch for openssh-SNAP-20001028 which fixes the
following two problems:
1) I fixed fixpaths to complain instead of failing silently if it
can't write the output file.
2) I changed log-server.c to use av0 as the first argument to
openlog(). I also made sure it called openlog() before the TCP
wrapper stuff, because libwrap calls syslog() and winds up using

[PATCH 7/7] v2v: add support for SUSE VMDP drivers
To add this support, the existing code searches for either the viostor
or the VMDP (Virtual Machine Driver Pack) files and updates the registry
accordingly.
Note that VMDP's block driver pvvxblk depends on the ballooning driver
pvvxbn.

CyberPower USB UPS fails to cut power during shutdown
Hi,
I have a CyberPower UPS connected to a Ubuntu karmic machine. All
functions are working well. I can use upsc to see all the UPS
parameters, power loss and battery low events are correctly detected,
and shutdown is correctly initiated. If I run upsdrvctl shutdown, the
UPS cuts power immediately.
However, if I simulate a shutdown with upsmon -c fsd, the UPS fails to
cut power. The

films on Desktops and roaming profiles
Hi,
I'd like to ask you what do you limit Desktops syncing in case users
put large files on them, e.g. films.
Downloading / uploading such large files can generate lots of
unnecessary traffic. Is there any kind of filtering possible ?
Other solutions ?
Cheers,

Batch Processing for SpeexEnc and SpeexDec
Hello, I am a master's student using Speex for my thesis research.
My question is this: I am running speex from a command line in Unix
and I want to encode/decode numerous files at once. How can this be
done since the speexenc requires [options] input_filename.wav
output_filename.spx and the reverse extensions for the decoder.
Sorry I am much more of a hardware (read: EE) then a CS guy. I

Is it a way to upgrade CentOS 7 to 8?
Hi,
I?m looking for a method to upgrade my centos 7 servers to 8 and I don?t find anything to do that!
I?m a very newbie with CentOS? My choices where gone to Debian or Ubuntu and it was very simple. Just some files must be changed (/etc/apt/source.list). My search suggest a RELH subscription. Is it the only way?
Best regards

[LLVMdev] llvm 'gmake check' errors generating lit.site.cfg
Hi,
Using trunk llvm ; on powerpc (powerpc64/power7); trying to do a
"gmake check", the sed bits in test/Makefile appear to be getting
tripped up when trying to generate lit.site.cfg. I've started to hack
at it, made a little bit of progress, but wonder if I'm just digging
myself a hole. Highlights of what I've poked at are below.. Comments
or thoughts?
Thanks,

A newbie question about searching an installed packet
Hi,
I?m french and literally one. So I?m not really easy with Sheakespeare language. So, accept my apologies.
As write in subject, I?m a newbie about CentOS an all RedHat declines. I wrote a Shell script for ours Debians (all sort of Debian like) which verify which packets are present before running. I thought I had found an equivalent with ? yum list installed | grep <packet> ? command
