echo cancelation on Digium T1 cards
Hello all,
I am getting console debug messages about "tone detected on channel XX,
disabling echo cancelation on channel XX" when using echocancel=yes with a
Digium T1 card.
does this mean that DTMF breaks the echo can? Does Asterisk permanently
disable the echo can or is it for that channel instance only?

echo problem
I have searched for how to locate echo cancelation on SIP clients, but
cant find anything and echocancel=y doesnt seem to have any effect.

Problem description:
When I place or receive a call I hear a faint delayed echo of myself.
The other party hears a really bad nonmuted echo that makes the call

Echo
I used to get bad echo and also voice breaking up during a conversation, so
I upgraded the machine (from a PII 300 to a Athlon 1.8GHz) and have resolved
the voice breaking up issues but still seem to have a fairly bad echo on
*both* sides of the conversation.
Currently I am only using the system for outbound calls, so I am always
calling from the digium USB port phone and out to the telco using a

TE405P and echo
I am using a SIP softphone (X-lite, SIPPS or Firefly) connected to an
Asterisk v 1.0.3 PBX. The PBX is also connected via a ISDN-PRI crossover
cable to a Avaya Definity Generic 3 PBX via a TE405P card. All outside of
the office calls go through the Definity. Here's the issue:
Calls to internal SIP extensions, Definity extensions, other offices within

Hardware Echo cancelation
Hi !
I have a Digium TE411P with echo cancelation board. I'm not sure if i need
to enable the "echocancelation=yes" in the zapata.conf file. Or since the
card hast the echo cancel board, asterisk does not need that option.
Thanks.

Channelized T1, SIP phones, HW Echo Canceller
I have a channelized T1 coming in from our telco, terminated onto a TE405.
There are three channelbanks serving internal analog extensions, and about
10 Cisco 7960s.
I have no reports of echo on the analog extensions (as expected). The
7960 users complain of occasional echo (seems like 1 in 5 calls). Only
the SIP user hears the echo, not the caller.
I have echocancel=yes, echotraining=yes,

chan_zap.c - echo cancelation getting in the way of dialing????
It seems consistant after dialing dozens of times that the call that
doesn't go through is the one the gets the log message "No
echocancellation requested" (chan_zap.c) and the "Scheduleing timer"
(channel.c) in the middle of receiving the DTMF tones.
I'm now using the T400P card last week very simular problems the the T100P

Echo cancellation
Hi Everybody,
Got a weird problem here I think. Got a setup with an asterisk (current
from cvs as of a few hours ago) in a box with an el-cheapo ISDN BRI card
connected to the PSTN network and two Snom phones internally (one Snom-100
and one Snom-200). Dialing between the snom phones or dialing out to PSTN
from any of the snom phones works perfectly.
But when I receive a call FROM the PSTN

Echo still present with Eicon Diva Server 4 Bri
Hi!
I'm trying to enable echo cancelation with my Eicon Diva Server 4 Bri card.
I've enabled it from zapata.conf, (as I read from www.voip-info.org)
-------------------------------
; Enable echo cancellation
echocancel=64
echocancelwhenbridged=yes
echotraining=2000
----------------------------
but nothing seems to change, echo is still present.
Any idea? Should I enable/change something

Ugly echo cancel, with Bristuff/Zaphfc
I'm using bristuffed Asterisk with ISDN/ZAPHFC
I have VERY ugly (outgoing) sound through ISDN/HFC if echocancel=yes in
zapata.conf, but without echocancel I have bad (incoming) echo
Through PSTN/FXO sound is ok with or without echocancel.
I tried other echo cancellers (in zconfig.h) two times:
ECHO_CAN_KB1 (this was default)
ECHO_CAN_MARK2
ECHO_CAN_MG2
after any change I compiled (make

Echo Cancelation Algorithm Details and Tuning

components ?
- Non-Linear Processor (NLP)
- Automatic Microphone Gain Control (AGC)
- Transducer Equalization (EQ)

SIP and ECHO
Hello,
I have read the information on echo and SIP in the FAQ and I have
scoured the mailing list for possible solutions, but as yet I have not
been able to get rid of this echo.
I have a Sip phone, Digium 4 Port FXS, and 3 Digium FXO cards installed
into an asterisk server. If I call between the Sip Phone
(Budgettone-100) and the 4 FXS ports everything sounds great. If I call
out to the PSTN

Echo cancel on HFC-S cards and CIDNum setting on outgoing calls
hi all!
I'm running an Asterisk-box with bristuff-....RC8n and 2 HFC-S cards.
I m located in Vienna/Austria. I have the problem that on outgoing
calls i hear my voice as a short echo (about half a second). This
occurs not on every call.
I tried some changes in my zapata.conf, with rxgain and txgain
settings, but to me its
hard to find a configuration which is good for every call i make. Is

Reducing echo on FXS port
Hello everybody,
I am sorry to bring this up again if this kind of echo issue has ever discussed.
Phone2 in below call path experiences quite annoying echo:
Phone1 --> FXS (TDM400P) --> Asterisk --> SIP GW --> PSTN --> Phone2
It is annoying as on phone2, we can hear the whole words we say with the level of maybe 25% of the original sound. I can reduce the echo to maximum with

Very bad quality with AVM Fritz!card PCI and chan_capi
Hi everyone,
I have Asterisk SVN-trunk-r7498 running for a few months and I'm quite
happy with it. However, I am experiencing a quality issue with my AVM
Fritz!card PCI which is used with chan_capi. When somebody calls me on
this line he hears a lot of noise and I hear "scratches" and "plops". It
is very annoying. Below is is my /etc/asterisk/capi.conf

Weird Echo Problem
Ok I know I'm not the only one having echo problem with asterisk but the
weird thing is that when I receive a call from a PSTN line on my TDM04B
card I don't have any echo problem at the beginning of the call then
after a few minutes I start having echo on my side only (the person
calling from a regular phone doesn't have any echo), then it stop and
come back all the way until the

IAX to zaptel echo
Hi all,
I am experiencing a problem with the quality of the voice communication
between an IAX based softphone (WinIAX) and an outside line through a
FXO port or even with a regular analog phone connected to a FXS port.
The party using the IAX softphone hears his own echo a plit of a second
after speaking. The party on the analog end does not experience any
echo. I tried to modify the KFLAG

Echo Cancelation on TE110P
On a 55 station install onto a Cox PRI with a TE110P (Polycom 501 phones) a
few users are complaiining about echo. According to the users, the echo
seems to be phone number dependant. They claim that certain phone numbers
have echo while others dont. Are there any tuning parametes like there is
for a TDM400 card?
