How to use the Cut() command to chop off an ending character
I used to be able to pass dial strings to IAX2 providers with # characters at the end of the string. This is how we end dial strings for international calls. So, I would like to be able to selectivity chop off any # characters at the end of string, only if they exist. Basically as follows (chopping off the leading '9' with ${EXTEN:1} syntax: EXTEN from Phone EXTEN for Dial String

E1 Line Tapping
Hi all, My name is Ricardo and unfortunately I'm just crawling in this telecomm/asterisk world. So, after reading all day long i still don't understand a few things. :D I'm trying to "develop" a call recorder for a costumer. He has a small call center ( 10 agents ) and want to record all calls. Since he already has everything (ACD only) working perfectly in the PBX and

G.723.1 codec
Hi, Want to do some experiments with the G.723 codecs - where can I download the 723 source code for Asterisk? I know there are some ongoing discussion regarding patents and license fees for the g.723 but I have some hardware on which I only have the 723 and need to test it privately. Thanks! No Ringback on Iconnect
When I place a call using Iconnecthere as my sip provider, I hear no ringback when making a call. Does anyone else have this problem or offer any suggestions? Wire Tapping on Asterisk
I'm new to asterisk. I would like to ask if there's a feature in asterisk wherein you can monitor ongoing calls, some kinda like tapping into active phone calls? It must have this feature but I do not know where to get some reference to set this up or test this. Can anyone share me some sites as reference? thnx...

T1 Wire Level Tapping
I am trying to do a wire level tap on T1 equipment using digum equipment. So far most call monitoring hardware for call centers try to stay on the analog side requiring a lot of rewiring. I have already posted to the list about T1 "bridging" using DAC's support in the zaptel drivers. I still don't know if I can spy on channel information since I don't have any digium

E1/T1 Tapping call recording in Asterisk - Testing needed
Howdy, I've spent a couple of days writing a new feature for Asterisk that allows to record calls in T1 or E1 PRI lines using Asterisk connected to tapped lines. This means that you don't have to install anything in the PBX's/telco equipment that is going to be monitored, all you need is to install a device like the PN 633 Tap Connection Adapter that is available for example, from

CALEA enforcement guidelines according to Comcast
Sounds like Comcast's manual for CALEA compliance was leaked. Pretty interesting read if you are curious: http://www.fas.org/blog/secrecy/ Direct link (PDF): http://www.fas.org/blog/secrecy/docs/handbook.pdf -- Kristian Kielhofner

ACD/IVR dialogs/SIP/client environment
Ok I have tried to post to this list server but have just gotten the automated reply saying the moderator has to approve it to the list first which was my mistake for sending from the wrong email account. So if the moderator finally approves my questions and you see the same post again "Sorry". My situation is this: I havn't installed Asterisk yet but am curious the general way

MusicOnHold (MOH) silent on BudgeTone-100 only.
I have the MusicOnHold feature working great when called from ATA-186 extensions. It's pretty cool. However, when I call from a BudgeTone-100 phone, no music is heard -- instead it continues the ringing feedback and acts like the call is unanswered. At the same time, I can call from (multiple) ATA-186 extensions and hear music as long as I like. How can I debug this? As far as I can tell,

adding msvcr100.dll interception support to compiler-rt ?
I've found that interception_win.cc line 835: "msvcr110.dll" //VS2012 "msvcr120.dll" //VS2013 interception is supported by commit 916b81 3 years ago , currently I'm build project with msvc100 , application will crash in un-intercepted free. adding msvcr100.dll to this list makes sanitizer working correctly , I wonder if compiler rt can including this msvc100.dll

Runtime interception: design problem
Hi everyone, I am having troubles but this shouldn't be hard to solve for many people here. I am beginning a runtime feature for the BoundsChecking pass and I want to replace the libc malloc&free. I followed the design of AddressSanitizer (Asan) and tried to use the INTERCEPTOR macro from the interception.h file of compiler-rt library. Here is the problem. The file I modify

AGI - CallerID ??
I have a client who needs an application for there field techs to call in when they arrive on site and when they leave. The logic behind it seems pretty simple. I am going to write something in AGI to capture some DTMF tones and update this data into MySQL to run some reports from. But here's my initial problem. I have started to create a simple AGI script to capture the CallerID, but I

CDR Rewrite -- Questions to the users
Hello! Most are probably bored seeing another letter about this, but I've put in a fair amount work on a spec for rewriting the CDR system in Asterisk, and I have some questions: First, please look at what I've written so far: svn co http://svn.digium.com/svn/asterisk/team/murf/RFCs and look at the file "CDRfix2.rfc.txt" in the RFCs dir. The spec SIGNIFICANTLY alters the way

LAN switches with PoE? PoE phones?
Hi all, I'm looking for recommendations on ethernet switches for a new install. Ideally would want switches with at least 24 ports, ideally with a GE uplink, and that support PoE (power over ethernet) on every port. I've seen lots of switches, and lots of "power hubs", but the combination, which makes a lot of sense, seems rare. What is out there? Do the switches need to be

How to find the interception point of two linear fitted model in R?
Dear All, Let have 10 pair of observations, as shown below. ###################### x <- 1:10 y <- c(1,3,2,4,5,10,13,15,19,22) plot(x,y) ###################### Two fitted? models, with ranges of [1,5] and [5,10],?can be easily fitted separately by lm function as shown below: ####################### mod1 <- lm(y[1:5] ~ x[1:5]) mod2 <- lm(y[5:10] ~ x[5:10]) #######################
