Optus Australia Multiline SHDSL service
Hi,
I am currently trying to find a replacement for a dinosaur PBX and want
to replace it with a VoIP solution.
We have just moved our lines over to an Optus Multiline from a Telstra
ISDN Onramp 30 service with 100 lines.
My question for you good people is what sort of hardware do I need to
interface Asterix into the Optus Multiline? The Optus service is
terminated in my office to a SHDSL

Hangup Issues on TDM40B FXO Australia
Afternoon all,
After doing some test on my asterisk box I can successfully receive
calls to my Asterisk PBX to a SIP phone from The Telstra PSTN network
Dial out from a sip phone is also not an issue, all calls connect and
terminate normally.
If I call the Asterisk PBX say from PSTN in Zap1-1 and out through
ZAP2-2 back to the PSTN (after entering the correct pin off course) the
card does not

E1 cards
We are not having any luck with the E100p card here in Australia, it
will work with a crossover cable to another device but will not talk to
our Telco Telstra who probably have a weird implementation of an E1.
Any suggestions on a replacement?

X100P with Caller-ID in Australia, anyone?
Hello list,
I have an X100P clone card, and I've been trying to get it to receive
Telstra Caller-ID without any luck. Hence these two questions:-
1) Will a genuine X100P work?
2) If so, where can I get one in Australia?
Cheers,
Jon

X100P - Busydetect / calls being disconnected - Australia; tip.
Hi All,
This isn't really a question, but it's an issue I experienced that was
driving me crazy for a few days, so I thought it might be good for the
archives.
Basically what was happening was everytime a particular customer called
(long distance), the line would disconnect immediately after answering.
I thought it might have been the phone, so I swapped the phone with
another - still

tuning an x100p in Australia for echo cancellation
I have an x100p which suffers from echo (no surprise there apparantly
:), and a few of the things I've read about tuning out echo say the
first thing to get right is the tx and rx gain, and for that you need a
few different types of test lines from the telco (Telstra, Optus,
whatever). Does anyone have any numbers in Australia for such lines? I
think they just need to send out a tone of a

SMS to fixed phone line
Telstra (Australian Telco) has recently introduced a feature to allow
the sending of SMS direct to fixed analogue lines, with an appropriate
handset.
As best as I can figure out, this appears to use CID type signalling, or
at least on a line that otherwise has no CID on it, CID is sent, but
with a standard modem I can only receive the date, time, and phone
number (eg normal CID info).
After that

Multiple IF statements - is there a better alternative?
Hello,
Rather than rely on a set of IF statements (as there could be many -
please see below)), could the following be done in a different/better
way?
InternalMean <- mean(data1[,3])
if (InternalMean == 0)
Intresult = 1
if (InternalMean > 0 & InternalMean < 1)
Intresult = .95
if (InternalMean >= 1 & InternalMean < 2)

Telstra/Sangoma bouncing E1 D Channel
We just installed a box into a Melbourne site with a Sangoma A101U, it
is running the latest Wanpipe drivers and has Asterisk on it that
someone had compiled manually from source. This initially worked fine
but for the sake of consitancy we removed the existing asterisk and used
emerge to install it.
During this time the box was off of the e1 for about 8 hours and when it
was brought back

Sangoma on Telstra E1 Tx/Rx and Echo Settings
Do any of the Australian Telstra users have some working tx/rx gain
settins for the Sangoma cards on Telstra that I can try, echo is
acceptable but not perfect using 0/0.
I will also post them onto the wiki.

BAD echo problems with Sangoma and Telstra
Hello,
We have an Asterisk 1.0.9 machine with a Sangoma A101 card fitted, it is
connected to a Telstra OnRamp E1 in Melbourne, Australia. The problem
we are experiencing is extreme echo and clicking noises.
These are only audible to the calling party, e.g. the person calling in
from the PSTN to Asterisk via the E1, the person on the SIP handset
cannot hear any echo or clicking, only the

I''m back
Hey all,
I''m back. Some of you are probably thinking that is the longest weeks
vacation on record. Well, I''d like to take this opportunity to
apologise for my absence and offer a brief explanation. When I got
back to Australia I naturally went home to visit my parents, only to
find that they have been hit really hard by the drought. They didn''t
really tell me just how

Zap/g0/ to a Telstra Mobile
I've installed a TDM400. Having a go with AMP.
I would like incoming calls to be put throuhg to an extension (at my desk)
and a mobile (cell phone) at the same time. Whichever picks up, gets the
call..
This should be possible with AMP (call groups, 200|201|0*0408xxxxxx), but it
didn't work, so I have created a custom-incoming in extensions-custom.conf
What is happening is, The extension

Do you know if you can map a large minimum spanning tree in R?
Thanks Mike.
My data has longitude and latitude coords and I used distAB {clim.pact}
then mst {ape} to calculate my minimum spanning tree. The nodes are
telecoms sites from all over Australia. My goal is to determine the
minimum cost of linking them via cabling, and I'm starting by
calculating the distance "as the crow flies", but will probably
eventually need to calculate the

Yet another sup server available (Australia)
I've setup a sup server on sup.physics.usyd.edu.au for use by people in

max number of connections is currently set to 10, and the daily sup
updates begin at 3am local time (if a different time would be better,
let me know). This machine is located in Sydney, with good connectivity
to the NSW AARNet/TIS gateway. If the plans

te410p and Telstra Onramp 10
Hi,
now that these cards have approval in Australia, has anyone had any luck in
connecting them to a Telstra Onramp 10 service? Are these configured as a
PRI, bchan=1-10, dchan=16 in zaptel.conf and switchtype=euroisdn in
zapata.conf? Better yet anyone have any of the above .conf files they could
share?
Is an onramp 10 what is referred to as a 'channel bank'?

Hello - I have had a good look on this newsgroup - and what I've picked up I
think is allowing me to ask
these questions more intelligently. I've also had a good look at the CUPS
documentation aswell as the
Samba documentation.
