PRI: This number has been disconnected
All, When calling an invalid number using, I expect to hear: "dooh-deeh-daah We're sorry you have reached a number which has been disconnected ..." And that is indeed what I hear when I dial out from [*] using analog FXO, or VoicePulse or NuPhone. When I dial that same number trough the T1 / PRI interface however, I continually hear ringing, and then the call gets hungup. Any ideas

Photoshop leaving toolboxes behind
Hi, I was going to file a bug report for this, but I thought I'd check here first, because I'm not sure if this is a wine bug, or something to do with Photoshop or Compiz. Most times when I close Photoshop CS2, I'm getting the one or more of the tool pallets left behind on my desktop. I have found no way to get rid of them - apart from restarting the X server. I tried xkill but it

learning the cron module
OK. I thought I would start by looking at how cron.rb in the puppet lib/type works because what I''m trying to accomplish is similar. However, when looking through that, it wasn''t immediately obvious to me how or when the resulting cron file was getting written out. Is this getting stored up in some instance var or something? Maybe getting sent to standard out and some

Newbie NFS question
As is usually the case, I'm not sure enough of what the DC docs are referring to; there are some implicit info assumptions that I, the Newbie, miss... Anyway, here is my situation Dovecot is to run on one machine only, its index files are stored in on a separate, non-quotaed, not NFS filesystem. INBOX and folder filesystems (all mbox format) are native to this machine and are NFS

Ques about 5 vs. 3 in CentOS-announce Digest, Vol 35, Issue 9
I don't know if I'm brain damaged this A.M. or what, but I can't figure (recall?) why this summary says CentOS 5 in the "Today's Topics", has "el5" and "centos.3" as well in the md5sum. Gentle chides for being dense this morning are accepted. TIA -- Bill

My linux keeps logging me off when I run Firefox (how to debug)?
This is a strange one to me. Just recently, my Centos 6 has been "gentle crashing" where it doesn't crash, per se, but the screen goes black, and the login prompt pops up. It only happens when I run Firefox and it only started happening this morning. However, it has happened a dozen times, and always when Firefox is running. It does NOT happen when Firefox is not running. I

Busy message on ISDN cards?
Hi all, I'm new to asterisk and not too knowledgeable on ISDN, so please be gentle :) I have a dual-channel Eicon Diehl Diva card in a Debian Woody box with kernel 2.4.27, connecting to a Telstra (Australia) Onramp Home Highway ISDN line. I'm pretty certain the card and line both work since they've been used in this machine for PPP before this (but with an older kernel with DoV

Moving average
Good morning all! I am attempting to superimpose a moving-average smoother onto a graph of daily plots. These plots (in table[,2] below) span about 350 days and looks very noisy. I'd like for this smoother to plot the average of each group of 7 consecutive days (weekly) and show a line which joins these series of averages. Given the definition of MA, the first and last points will

I think this is the last of the header fixes I''ve run across. Though it''s sometimes difficult to tell, I believe Xen/ia64 has asm/mm.h, flushtlb.h, page.h, and shadow.h. Please apply. Signed-off-by: Hollis Blanchard <hollisb@us.ibm.com> -- Hollis Blanchard IBM Linux Technology Center

Creating a scrolling effect with slider
I''m currently working on a method to implement a scroller for a div using a slider. I need to do this as an alternative to making a stylish flash scroller with content. The main advantage of this method is to allow the ability to style the sliding elements cross browser (and maybe as a future add on... the ability to have a scroll.to for a scrolling div). This is my first attempt at

Internet fail over
Bit of a shorewall newbie so if the answer is obvious please be gentle. We have been using version 1.4.2 for a while now and are very happy with how it performs, however we are looking to increase the resilience of our internet connection by providing a second internet feed. The idea being that should the primary connection fail shorewall will transparently (as far as users are concerned) switch
