SIP and DTMF
Hello,
I am fairly new to asterisk. I am currently using asterisk as a
more convenient sip side voicemail system.
My problem:
I have cisco 7960 phones whose out of band dtmf tones
are recognized properly(when dtmfmode=rfc2833) by asterisk but whose
in-band dtmf tones are recognised poorly(when dtmfmode=inband) . For
example 7999 comes out as 799999, 4242 comes out as 442422 ... etc

DTMF tones in MixMonitor recording
Hello list,
Hope you are all doing fine!
I have stumbled over some piece of dialplan code in which apparently they
were trying to avoid recording the DTMF tones in the wav file. It is really
messy and I am not sure if this really works. So after a bit of research I
found this comment (

Problem with DTMF 'looping' / mis-dials (X100P card)
Hi all,
I'm having a problem with * being very finicky about the length of
DTMF key-presses during menus, voicemail, etc. Basically, short (<100
ms) tones are ignored, anything between 100ms (or so) and about 300ms
is correctly detected, and anything >300ms is interpreted as multiple
presses of the same key. This is terrible for callers who are trying
to get to the correct

Increase DTMF Tone Duration
Hi,
We are running 1.4.22 and have been experiencing problems with certain
IVRs and DTMF Tone duration. We would like to be able to increase DTMF
Tone duration by 50 to 100ms over what the user is pressing on his
phone. We have a PRI test circuit and an analyer in between to measure
tone duration.
We have tried setting chan_dahdi.conf parameter 'toneduration', but that
does not do

aastra 9133i DTMF tones
Hey - I know there's some other people out there that have the 9133i ...
has anyone gotten the DTMF tones to work after the far side picks up? I
didn't have any problems out of the box with my SPA-841 phones... the
aastra has been nicer so far, but I can't seem to get it to dial the
touch tones after an auto-answer device picks up on the far side... I
googled, to no avail.

Issue with DTMF Tones - Codec Issues
Topology:
PSTN<-T1 PRI->NEAX2400<-T1 PRI->Cisco 3825<-Ethernet-> Asterisk VoIP server
When I make a call to a VoIP user from the PSTN, the call gets routed
through the PBX, and Cisco. Because of that the DTMF tones are passed
inband, which I can hear on the VoIP end of the call. However, I have
one extension on asterisk set up so that I can check voice mail when

duration of rfc2833 generated dtmf
Hi. I have a SIP provider which wants RFC2833 for the dtmfmode,
however I would like to increase the duration of the tone, its pretty
short and some IVR's are unhappy or don't detect it. I did poke
around, but it looks like when RFC2833 is used, it actually generates
rtp packets of some sort, so I have no idea how to increase that
duration.
Any assistance would be appreciated.

DTMF issues with SIPPhone?
Does anyone else have DTMF issues with SIPPhone? When calling into my
DID, and entering, say, 1002. Sometimes it will recognize it properly
(rarely), other times it will receive something different. Such as,
1102 or 1000, etc. Has anyone else been having these issues? I'm
only accepting ulaw and alaw, and my relevant sip.conf information

DTMF, Asterisk, External PSTN gateway, and PAP2 (was: RE: Issue with DTMF Tones - CodecIssues)
I run a bunch of the Linksys ATA's.. I always use rfc2833 for DTMF.
works very well and have never had a problem with it.

DTMF issues/redial tones with rfc2833
Hi,
We have few systems with asterisk 1.4.22.1 and we use sip trunking for them
not PRI's, one of our system is giving a problem of dtmf (rfc2833), like
when we dial the number that have IVR and enter the extension or access
code, it some time takes it and some times does'nt recognize the digits
dialled. We also tried auto and info for dtmf but could not get the dtmf to
work reliably, can

DTMF issue
Hello folks,
We have an issue with several Cisco SPA512G phones connected to an Asterisk
platform where several users hear loud, random beeps during calls to
external recipients. The noises are akin to button press tones, are very
loud and a significant annoyance.
I've tried changing the DTMF tones on the phones (512G's running firmware
7.5.5) from In-Band to every other possibility,

DTMF tones not long enough
Hi,
My system is like this currently:
ATA-186 <-> *1 <-> IAX2 to Europe <-> *2 <-> i4l <-> voicemail at cell
provider
When I dial up to my voicemail at my European cell phone provider I
can't press '#' to get into their menu. It seems like it just ignores
any DTMF tones or doesn't get them.
When I call a human on the other side of the i4l they

DTMF Tones in RTP Payload as Well as in Events = Duplicate Tones
Dear friends,
As I commented some while ago in the list, occasionally when DTMF Tones are
sent, they appear in RTP Payload and in Events too, producing duplicate
tones being recognized. This behavior happens in Asterisk as well as in
Gateways such as Cisco, for which we had the opportunity to observe the
error and extensively debug it.
We ended up recognizing good digits by adjusting audio gain

DTMF
I am trying to connect to a vocal server from an asterisk server. A call
is received via iax2 to my asterisk server. I then initiate a SIP
connection to the vocal server. everything works great except dtmf
doesnt work. A cisco 5300 can connect to this vocal server and do dtmf
without a problem. I have my dtmf set to rfc2833 in the general section
of the sip.conf . I can confirm that the

Asterisk and DTMF
Hi list!
I have an Asterisk server (1.2.14) connected to a E1 line via a TE410P, and
some
PAP2NA connected to it. The PAP2 DTMF configurations is set to INFO and
Asterisk
to INFO too. At first, is INFO method different from RFC2833??
Well, I have two problems. The first is that when I place a call to outside,
via
E1 trunk, sometimes I get some DTMF tones and I'm sure nobody hit any key.

DTMF issue
Hi Tom,
Thank you for your informative and helpful reply. I had considered using the
relaxdtmf setting but held off this due to not using any physical connection
hardware -Asterik uses both SIP in and out from an upstream provider
(Gradwell.com).
Is it still possible to set this when using SIP trunks only and not physical
hardware? The box does have a Digium ISDN card but the ISDN is no longer

DTMF information?
I am looking at building an IVR product with a few interesting features
and need some more information about how asterisk and VoIP work and what
I can get from them.
As far as I can tell when I use ISDN/GSM telephone networks the DTMF
information travels as data representing 'start tone' and 'stop tone'
for each button pressed, it is then generated at the other end if an
