Red Alarm
Hi list, Sometimes I receive a Red Alarm in my E1 trunk (E&M immediate start signaling), and just few seconds after this, all alarms are cleared. This problem ocurrs many times/day, and if are calls in progress, these calls just hang-up. Could it be an asterisk bug? Or may I contact the PSTN provider? Thanks Eduardo

IAX, IAX2 and authenticatyion
Hi, I have some questions regarding IAX, IAX2 and encrypted authentication. How can I know if IAX or IAX2 is used between two * servers? There is any guide about how to configure encrypted authentication (not in clear text)between two * servers? I "hear" on this list a couple of days ago that port 5036 is the default one for IAX and something else (4XXX) for IAX2. Trying 'iax

max queue time; newbie question (fwd)
Martin Pycko <martinp@digium.com> writes: > sure, use the 'n' option of the queue and put voicemail app as the next > priority Will that work? From my read of the code, the timeout parameter is only checked while the call is being sent to an agent's phone (inside the try_calling function). The timeout doesn't seem to be checked while the user is waiting to get to

SS7
Hi, Does Asterisk support SS7? Google shows an old new post from Feb. 2002 stating that OpenSS7 would help add SS7 support to Asterisk, but presently OpenSS7 seems to be dead and I can't seem to find anything about it at Asterisk or Digium's sites. What happened? -- Regards, Tais M. Hansen ComX

Dialing from E1/T1
Hi, A have an asterisk connected to a legacy PBX trought an E1 and to the PSTN trought another E1. When the legacy user dial to the PSTN the call pass trought Asterisk. SIP behind NAT (*sigh*)
Hi guys, sorry to be iterating this on the list once more, but I'm not able to get this stuff to work as I'd expect. So far, I've always managed to keep it out of NAT environments :-> My home LAN is NATed by a simple Draytek router. In the home LAN is an ATA186 with SIP. On the internet (public) is an Asterisk server. I have nat=yes in the sip.conf and the connectmode is set

In all the information on Asterisk it takes about TDMoE to link asterisk servers together. Is this IAX??? How would I use TDMoE. ATA & T.38 Fax
Does anybody know of an ATA that works well with * and supports T.38 fax relay? The Cisco ATA186 does not support T.38 and I don't think the Sipura does, but I don't know for sure. I'm not talking about running fax over an ATA with g.711, I want actual support for T.38. Thanks. Peder

Cisco 7905G vs ATA186
Hi All, I'm looking at getting some Cisco VoIP hardware to play with in combination with a Asterisk server. I've heard that there is beta software available to do SIP on the 7905G. So, I'm thinking of either getting a 7905G or a ATA186. My dillema is, which one to buy? I can get both for about the same price, has anyone had any experience with using a 7905G with Asterisk? On
