e100p in Australia
I've seen this question asked before but haven't seen a definative answer. Does the e100p work in australia? Did any one who was asking the question before bite the bullet and get one? I can get a te410 if i really have to but would prefer to stay with the cheaper option. Any comments appreciated, Thanks ------------------------------------------------- This mail sent through IMP:

E1 cards
We are not having any luck with the E100p card here in Australia, it will work with a crossover cable to another device but will not talk to our Telco Telstra who probably have a weird implementation of an E1. Any suggestions on a replacement? Regards Mark McKibbin DCS Internet 64 Queen St Warragul Victoria 3820 Australia www.dcsi.net.au mark@team.dcsi.net.au Ph. 1300 665575 Fx. 1300 556595

An interesting call path observation..
This is not really a problem just something I noticed in my testing.. When two or more Asterisk servers are connected by IAX2 trunks it does not make use of any "shortest path" type system.. (maybe this is still planned somwhere down the line, but may come in handy to those who have multi asterisk installations) Here is the setup.. UA1--- Asterisk1----[IAX2 Trunk]---Asterisk2---UA2

asterisk and pingtel
Hello All, I have pingtel and asterisk working really well. I have a really annoying little problem - mainly with pingtel. When a call comes in pingtel displays the caller ID on the phone. If I miss it then I click on the number for redial - this doesn't include a 9 to dial an outside line. The second problem is with the dialer from outlook again it bypasses the outlook dialing rules so

Dial Plan Format Strings
In the absence of "The Definitive Guide to Asterisk Dial Plans" book, I'd like to do something possibly unique with the formatting of extensions in my dial plan, and am having trouble. We use VoicePulse connect, which gives us local DID for inbound and outbound calls (even though DTMF tones are not working in Voice Pulse Connect at the moment). To dial local numbers, you have to

Prompt recording
Does anybody have useful tips on creating good quality recordings for use with prompts in asterisk? I'm interested in hearing input on hardware (mics, dats, sound cards, etc) and software (recording software, dsp) as well as recording techniques. Jerimiah Tularosa Communications

soft phones -- voice quality tuning
I've got the XTEN Lite soft phone mostly working with * but it's dropping out like a very bad cell phone call. The GSM codec is worst (unusable), G711u and G711a are best but not good enough to use. I don't think it's a lack of bandwidth. What tuning options or approaches should I be investigating to make this work. Also, what's the best soft phone(s) for Windows XP?

Internationalisation/Internationalization
Good Morning, I'm working with a queue at the moment and I having trouble with my digits. Australia is my example. On the tiki it says for international digits, I can dump them in the "digits/au" directory. I tried that -- just because, I also made a copy in "au/digits". When the queue announces the position I it says: -- Started music on hold, class

AsteriskNow Beta 4 - zaptel.conf / zapata.conf problems
I have recently installed Asterisk Now Beta 4 (32-bit) with three Digium cards - 2 Wildcards TE400P (one with 4 FXS modules and one with 4 FXO modules) and a TE205P dual E1/T1 card. The problem is with the TE205P and configuring the /etc/zaptel.conf and /etc/asterisk/zapata.conf files. I go in and add the required lines to configure the TE205P and restart Asterisk. All is fine until I reboot the

No D-channels available! Using Primary on channel 16 anyway!
Hi! I have a E1 PRI connected to my TE400P card on span 1, and two channelbanks on span 3 and 4 and * 1.2. Every few hours I get this message and asterisk dies just after that: Warning: No D-channels available! Using Primary on channel 16 anyway! When this happens restarting zaptel and asterisk services, generally puts the system back online my zaptel.con reads: span=1,1,0,ccs,hdb3

Optus Australia Multiline SHDSL service
Hi, I am currently trying to find a replacement for a dinosaur PBX and want to replace it with a VoIP solution. We have just moved our lines over to an Optus Multiline from a Telstra ISDN Onramp 30 service with 100 lines. My question for you good people is what sort of hardware do I need to interface Asterix into the Optus Multiline? The Optus service is terminated in my office to a SHDSL

Subclassing ActiveRecord::Base
First of all, sorry for the crossposting, but I put this into the Ruby Forum first of all, but was pointed to this as a more appropriate location. I''m using ActiveRecord and ActiveSupport in a non-rails environment to connect to multiple databases, and I''ve found the following (single database) to cause me an error. Note that params is my database settings and omitted for

Problems using TE412P and TDM400B in a IBM x3650
Another day, another apparant unexplained hardware incompatibility. I have a TE412P and a TDM400B living quite happily in a whitebox using an Intel motherboard: http://www.intel.com/design/servers/boards/se7230nh1-e/index.htm I tried to move to an IBM x3650 system. It uses a slightly newer chipset, but apparantly it's in the same family. The SE-7230 board has been EOL'd and the

Large issue - having trouble diagnosing.
Hello, I am having a lot of trouble with my deployment of Asterisk. I am running the PBX-In-a-flash turnkey of Asterisk and ever since deployment I have had many different problems. I have managed to get all issues sorted out as I go along, until this one that randomly began last week. We are using Grandstream GXP 2000 Handsets in the office, and at TE110P card to interface to our ISDN OnRamp10
