asterisk 1.8 on Solaris/sparc
I've got the latest asterisk 1.8 running on a Netra X1 with Solaris 10 u10. The system itself is happy and phone calls (between two parties) seem fine. Unfortunately, when a caller listens to a Playback recording, there seems to be moments of stutter - perhaps 1 second of stutter for every 10 seconds of Playback. The stutter is not consistent at the same point of the playback file. To

INSTALLING CENTOS SPARC
I'm trying to install CentOS SPARC on a Netra T1, but it boots from disk and i want to know how to enter the bios and set up that boots from cdrom. The other problem i have is that when the Netra T1 is booting it gets stuck when makes a NIS request, and says "Time out for NIS to come up". I know this problem doesn't have relation with CentOS but if somebody has installed CentOS

A tail of joy...
So, I _finally_ got the time to upgrade from 0.99.14 ... which I told myself I'd upgrade from once 1.0 was released... (yep, I've been _that_ busy :) So I read the Wiki page on 0.99->1.0 transition, and went through the config file - for all of about 5 or 10 minutes. I logged in at 11pm when nobody else should be using it, restarted dovecot with the new version, and logged in.

Asterisk + NEC Electra Elite IPK Integration
Hi, I'm am currently in the process of trying to integrate an * box with an NEC Electra Elite IPK. Currently, we have 7 POTS lines coming into our building. These lines are plugged into our NEC using the appropriate analog line interface card from NEC. The NEC effectively has NO configuration done to it, other than to make all the internal phones ring when a call comes in. We also

OCFS file system used as archived redo destination is corrupted
we started using an ocfs file system about 4 months ago as the shared archived redo destination for the 4-node rac instances (HP dl380, msa1000, RH AS 2.1) . last night we are seeing some weird behavior, and my guess is the inode directory in the file system is getting corrupted. I've always had a bad feeling about OCFS not being very robust at handling constant file creation and deletion

Sun Servers with UltraSparc Processors
Hi, I'm just considering buying two Telecoms grade Sun Netra's to run a lab-based VoIP solution. Not my immediate thoughts as a VoIP platform, but from what I've heard, they can run Linux, and run it well. Only thing is: The Wiki and the Whitepaper just state that Asterisk is for the x86 architecture, but has been compiled to run on PPC architectures. No mention of UltraSparc.

how to transform a data file
Hello R people, I have a data file with 101 numeric variables: one variable called IDN (the individual's unique id number, which I need to retain, and which ranges from 1000 to 1320; some numbers are obviously skipped), and V1 to V100 (each has a value of 0 or 1; these 100 variables represent sequentially ordered days and whether a characteristic was present or absent--e.g., v1 is day 1 and a

Status of SPARC64 port?
I was looking at the Sparc 64 4.7 or 4.8 port, wondering if its in any state to put on my Solaris v100. Just need the basics, eide, network, kbm, mouse, graphics (x). A bonus would be support for the lom (light out management) features and the flash card. Reason for change is I HOPE that the math (ssl) performance is better on FBSD, as well as I am just tired of keeping track of

Question about normalization to a set of internal standards
Hi, I have a question of the method as how to normalize the data sets according to a set of the internal measurements. For example, I have performed two batches of experiments contrasting two different conditions (positive versus negative conditions): one at a time. 1. each experiment, I measure signals of variable v1 to v100. I want to understand v1 to v100 change under these two contrasting

How to normalize to a set of internal references
Thanks for the advice. My question is more on how to do this? Let me use a biology gene analysis example to illustrate: In biology, there are always some house keeping genes which differ little even at pathological conditions. We know that at different batches, there are external factors affect the measurements. For example, overall signal intensity might be different due to lab reagents. A

Variance Computing- - HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hello, I am running a few simulations for clinical trial anlysis. I want some help regarding the following. We know trhat as the sample size increases, the variance should decrease, but I am getting some unexpected results. SO I ran a code (shown below) to check the validity of this. large<-array(1,c(1000,1000)) small<-array(1,c(100,1000)) for(i in

sprintf error: "only 100 arguments allowed"
I'm trying to apply a function defined in the VW R docs, that attemps to convert a data.table object to Vowpal Wabbit format. In the process i'm getting the error in printf mentioned in the subject. The original function is here: https://github.com/JohnLangford/vowpal_wabbit/blob/master/R/dt2vw.R Below there is a small example that reproduces the error. The function works great with

rsync stalls at .sparsebundle directories on OS X‏‏
Hi. I try to make backups from one disk to another. I have .sparsebundle[1] directories on the source drive (/Volumes/data/). When rsync reaches the first .sparsebundle it stalls and stays there until i ctrl+c. I'm using OS X Yosemite and rsync version 3.1.1 protocol version 31 installed via homebrew. However, I had this problem on OS X Lion too using rsync 3.0.9. Actually, the reason I
