FW: * and Cisco routers
I understand that softphone are the answer in fact I deploy a ton of the Ip comm version every week. I am under contract with the phones so I can't sell them and there no easy way out of the contract. As for 79XX's I have several office that have them working over a VPN backed in to our main office where the CCM's and GW's are with managable problem and for the most part they

Intercom with Cisco SIP 796x phones?
I read about this intercom stuff on page 62 & 63 of the book "Developing Cisco IP Phone Services" isbn 1-58705-060-9. Primary calls take place on streaming channel 0. When streaming channel 0 is not in use, streaming channel 1 can be used for asynchronously streaming (in and out) stuff like voicemail, email, and, yep the one we want, intercom. Page 87-88 of the book talks about

Pressing 0 in Voicemail causes * to hangup
I tried it w/ mine as well and it hung up on me because I just have Voicemail running not Voicemail2. It seems as though you have Voicemail2 because it's trying to play the Unavialable message. Just a thought though. Does it do the samething w/ [qout-phillyq] exten => 0,1,Voicemail(u1) exten => 0,2,Goto(default,s,1) Tim Thompson http://www.amatechtel.com (806) 722-2227

Cisco 7960, Nortel MICS, Digital sets, ...
I have a couple of questions I'm hoping folks can help me out with. When I search the mailing list, I see folks doing what I'm interested in so here's hoping ! - How are people making out with interfacing to the 7960? I'm considering buying a number of these as they look quite feature rich. But, are they easy to interface to? - Will I be able to interface with softkeys on

Cisco 7940/7960 phone and conference calling?
Hello, Anyone else having problems with the Cisco 7940/7960 (5.3 firmware) and the latest CVS build, placing conference calls from the phone? I've noticed the party on the Cisco phone's side will sound very garbled, and delayed by several seconds. I haven't begun troubleshooting yet, though I'm able to reproduce this easily... Thanks in advance, -a

Cisco 79xx users/consultants, 7970G color in particular share information (was: Re: asterisk-users Digest, Vol 44, Issue 3)
The documentation of how to use the 79xx series' phones and features with Asterisk is really hard to find and put together. The higher end phones like 7970 are more like converged PC+phone, a thin client to telephony and network apps. But it's really hard to target it as a development and deployment platform because the docs and techniques are so obscure. There seems to be a fair amount

* with cisco 7960G
hi! I've got cisco 7960G working with * box. Calls could be Blind Xfered through the phone but not the supervised transfer( Message on the phone: Transfer failed). Even when I put the caller on hold and resume it later, I can't hear the other side but the otherside can hear me. (It shows as the line is connected though. Yet the respective caller entry blinks.) Any suggestions most

OT - Headsets for Cisco 7940/7960
This is Off-Topic for Asterisk, but I wanted to get some feedback on headsets for Cisco 7940/7960 phones. We have about 10-20 people who wants/needs a headset for their phone & was hoping to collect some real-world input. Thanks!!

Cisco 79xx + asterisk + some functions Q
Hi, I am new to Asterisk and have some general questions _before_ I start buying equipent to install and get everything up-and-running. (this means I have no running Asterisk (yet)). I have read already a lot of doc, but some things are not clear to me, since I'am inexperienced in Asterisk and PBX. The goal: Make PBX using Asterisk and Cisco 79xx equipment for 25 phones (1 x 7970, 4 x 7960,

Fwd:[Vocal] Question about Cisco IP hard phones
Interesting notes on the 79xx series. The 7920 is the wireless phone; not mentioned here. For a more complete guide to Cisco's phones, see: http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/phones/ps379/products_data_sheets_list.html The 7902 is the "very inexpensive" Cisco phone, and it looks like it will be SCCP (Skinny) only. Twiddling my thumbs here waiting for the chan_sccp to

Cisco 79xx XML Apps (was: Re: Cisco Directory Format)
Do you know where to find clear developers' guides (with some examples) for developing apps that run *on* Cisco 79xx phones (especially the 7970)? Examples that can run against Asterisk (not CallManager) with SIP firmware (not SCCP), and/or LDAP directories (or other open servers) would be best. Cisco CallManager Image for 7940/7960
Does anyone have the .bin file(s) to convert a Cisco 7940/7960 back to the CallManager image? I want to start playing around with the chan_skinny addition, but it seems the .exe's from cisco want to open a connection to a SQL server or CallManager (which I don't have).

Cisco 79xx firmware
I have several Cisco 79xx phones (7905, 7920, 7940, 7960, 7970, ATA 186) and I need to buy firmware for them. I have contacted http://www.cdw.com and http://www.insight.com/ but they didn't respond. Can anybody tell me where can I buy SCCP and SIP firmware for my phones? BTW, I'm in Croatia (Hrvatska). I heard that location does matter. P.S. My local Cisco reseller wants to sell me

ATA devices
Does anyone know of a 24 port ATA device that could be installed in a phone closet? Like a channel bank, but, instead of multiplexing onto a T-1 circuit, it would convert to SIP/RTP on a LAN connection. Thanks, -- Michael Welter Introspect Telephony Corp. Asterisk Monitor after Call Transfer failing to record the call
I have a problem with incoming calls being recorded after a supervised transfer. Call comes in, receptionist answers, caller put on hold, Asterisk Monitor is recording, caller is on Hold, Callee picks up the call, Asterisk Monitor Stops. All recorded calls are named CallerID to Exten. Receptionist sees the incoming PSTN callerID, yet when we get a transfer from the receptionist, we

Newbie 2 PBX VOIP, protocol ?'s using Cisco 827 7910
I am replacing a dead pbx with *. There are four lines I will be using. There is a Cisco 827-4v already in place so I will move the lines from the pbx to it. I am working with Cisco 7910 phones and I understand they use the Skinny/SCCP protocol. I am not sure if I should use chan_skinny or chan_sccp? However my main question is with communication. Do I need to use the same protocol between the
