Description of Zaptel/DAHDI E1 alarms
Hello,
I am missing any description of zaptel/DAHDI alarms. The TE200 series
user manual contains only a description of LEDs states. These alarms
states are visible in zttool/dahditool or in astersick CLI (zap show
status) and I wonder what is the real meaning of these alarms for E1
channel.
Possible alarm states (based on zaptel.h 1.2):
1. No alarms
2. Recovering from alarm
3. In loopback

Receiving T1 Blue Alarm on asterisk 1.4.26, zaptel 1.4.12
Hello list,
For a customer I need to detect blue alarms on his T1 trunks. His server is
in running asterisk and zaptel 1.4. I have a tool to generate all sorts of
alarms, but on generating blue alarm, zaptel recognizes them as red alarms.
This is not good for us as we need to get blue alarm as blue alarm.
I checked using:
cat /proc/zaptel/*
zttool
Are these versions of asterisk and zaptel

TE405P intermittent yellow alarm
Folks,
I really hope you can help me here - I'm beginning to tear my hair out!
About 10 days ago my company moved to a new office. As a result of this,
we've plugged our PBX box, which has happily been running for the last
three years, into our new E1 line. Since then, I've been seeing
intermittent yellow alarms. Obviously, since this was working fine in
the old office, the thing to

Asterisk not picking up (some) calls due to zaptel detecting and clearing alarms
Hi All,
For the most part, the PBX works as it should. Occasionally people complain
that they call and the PBX doesn't pick up. Other times it looks like the
call is answered by Asterisk but I still hear ringing and I start listening
to the IVR menu a few seconds into it.
As for Asterisk not picking up, I see the following in the logs:

Help: RED alarm on Wildcard TE122 card
Hi, I have been trying to get a Wildcard TE122 card running here the
last couple of days.
libpri and zaptel are all installed and configured to E1 specs. The
jumper on the card is on, so configured for E1 (I'm in Norway).
When running zttool, I get 'Alarms: RED' on the single card installed.
Other information in zttool:
Current alarms: Red Alarm
Sync source: Internally clocked

out over that. zttool shows no alarms.

T1 configuration, getting help via IRC?
In my * server I have a T100P, connected with a T1 crossover cable to an
Adtran TA750 with 2 FXO cards. After I do 'modprobe wct1xxp;ztcfg' the
alarm on the card starts blinking red. Running zttool confirmed that
yes, it is a red alarm. I've read a few previous posts on this type of
setup and I'm not too much closer. What should I be checking next? A
different cable? The

Manager interface, again
Ok,
is it me or do some of the commands just not work properly? I asked for mailboxstatus
and got:
Response: Success
Message: Mailbox Status
Mailbox: 1000
Waiting: 0
which is all well and good, except of course I have 2 messages waiting... which kinda means
it only works, if you have 0 messages... (using voicemail not voicemail2)

Missing: Red alarm event in Asterisk Manager Interface
Hi all,
This afternoon, while mucking around the manager API, I discovered that
my client doesn't receive red alarm events (i.e. when I unplug the
line). Astman won't work as well. I did made sure the user I logged in
as has read/write permissions for System events. A quick look in
chan_zap.c shows that when the alarm triggers or clears, Asterisk is
supposed to send a manager event

X101P problem with latest FreeBSD zaptel drivers
Any other FreeBSD users experiencing this particular problem? I have an X101P
board plugged into a PC running 5.2.1 and using the latest (0.6) zaptel port
right from the port tree. zttool shows a RED alarm on the card but the phone
line appears to be okay (plugging an analog phone into the "Phone" port
produces a dialtone on the phone). I've even tried switching the line polarity

X101P FXO with RED alarm
Hi,
I've just added an X101P FXO card to my asterisk machine. The card is
detected ok but zttool always shows it in a RED alarm state, which I
understand means that it doesn't detect the line.
I've connected the card via the line socket to my analogue line using
the cable that came with the card (and have also tried other cables too)
but I always get a RED alarm.

Subject: Re: X100P Ireland Red Alarm
Hi,
I suspected that I the analogue phone should have got
a pass through signal when the power was off to the
server, unfortunately it doesn't. I kept asking digium
support about that but they didn't give me an answer.
The problem is how do I identify whether the X100P is
incompatibel with the network or faulty without
possibly wasting another USD100???

How to fix a Blue Alarm?? Line Noise?
We are having line noise issues in our Asterisk to legacy PBX integration.
All SIP calls originating from IP phones sound crystal clear. All calls that
originate from the legacy PBX (Isoetec 228) and route through the Asterisk
and out SIP have a lot of line noise.
I believe I have it pinned down to these Blue Alarm errors that I can see on
the legacy PBX side. zttool shows no alarm but when I

X100P Ireland Red Alarm
Hi,
Has anyone got the X100P to work with an anlogue line
in the Republic of Ireland?
I have the X100P installed but zttool indicates a Red
Alarm status on the card. It is on its own interrupt
and I have tried different PCI slots but all to no
avail.
Are there any alternatives to the X100P that can work
with asterisk and are likely to work in Ireland?
Thanks,
Aaron

E1 yellow alarms
About every hour I see the yellow alarms on all or a number of channels of
my PRI which is connected to the dutch telephony network, Asterisk keeps
on working fine....
Here's an example where channel 1-24 went into alarm:
