Free World Dialup behind NAT
Hi,
after reading about it on the list I decided to set up a Free World
Dialup account. For those of you who don't know, that is a sip proxy
where you and your friends can singn up free and then you can just
connect to it with any sip client and call anybody that is registered
for free. Pretty much like iaxtel (I belive that was the name of it) for
the iax protocol. It even supports clients

RE: Asterisk-Users digest, Vol 1 #1033 - 7 msgs
Same thing. It will make sense to try
Register => <FWDnum>@fwd.pulver.com:<FWDpass>@fwdnat.pulver.com:5082
but in that case Asterisk sends
REGISTER sip:fwdnat.pulver.com SIP/2.0
which is not right. It should be sip:fwd.pulver.com but sent thru
fwdnat.pulver.com:5082

Working with FWD, IPTel, SIPPhone?
I'll admit it. I'm a asterisk newbie (but no stranger to telephony).
The setup is simple: two Grandstream BudgeTel 100 phones (SIPPhone
specials) on a private segment calling to a Linux box acting as the
segment's firewall with a leg on our public network. The phones are
setup as SIP/phone1 (x1000) and SIP/phone2 (x1001), respectively (thanks
to the Asterisk HOWTO).

Using Asterisk with FWD through NAT
Hi All,
Is there any way to connect (register, initiate and receive calls) with
Asterisk to FWD through NAT? Since I own my router port forwarding is not a
problem.
I tried with
Register => <FWDnum>@fwd.pulver.com:<FWDpass>@fwd.pulver.com
but since Asterisk still use internal IP in some SIP fields I got "479 We
don't accept private IP contacts. Please set your external

FWD problems
I've been having issues getting FWD to work. I posted this same Q to the
FWD forum (no responses yet), but I was hoping someone here had some insight:
http://yabb.pulver.com/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.cgi?board=news;action=display;num=1072263468;start=0#0
I just signed up for an FWD account (I know I had one before, but I lost
it.. :)
I've got it running through Asterisk - all working fine

Registering a FWD account in asterisk
Hi all,
I have seen a lot of messages in the last time about *
If you put a section in sip.conf as:

> context=inbound
this does make sense???
What is [fwd1]?
For me it means that a SIP user with the name fwd1 is defined in

FWD and registrations
Someone said something about FWD registrations requiring the extended
syntax shortly, like this:
register => 12345@fwd.pulver.com:somepassword@fwd.pulver.com/12345
At the moment, using the extended syntax doesn't work - I get
authorization errors. So stick with the old syntax:
register => 12345:somepassword@fwd.pulver.com/12345

is IAX required for firewall and router?
I'm trying to understand IAX and whether or not it would solve my
difficulties:
'The primary goals for IAX were to minimize bandwidth used in media
transmissions, with particular attention drawn to control and individual
voice calls, and to provide native support for NAT (Network Address
Translation) transparency. Another goal is to be easy to use behind
firewalls.'

Asterisk(OS X) & X-Lite
I'm new to Asterisk and have installed it on OS X. I am trying to use
an X-Lite softphone to connect through Asterisk to FreeWorld Dialup and
am not having any luck.
I have looked at several settings pages at voip-info.com but have had
no luck. I am on a school network which I assume has some security but
the particulars are unknown as they are not very helpful. It is

receiving calls from FWD
I have successfully configured asterisk to make outgoing calls over FWD,
but cannot receive incoming calls. The console shows no messages,
even though an XTEN client on the same network has no problems receiving
incoming calls.

Can be called on FreeWorldDialup/IAX channel, but can't make calls
Hi,
I have an FWD account and it's configured in asterisk.
I can be called by people using FWD, but I cannot make FWD calls myself.
Every number dialed with a 8 prefix goes to FWD,
if for example I call the echo servie I get this:
Connected to Asterisk 1.2.13 currently running on asterisk (pid = 2865)
Verbosity is at least 35

Ark vs. RAR files under CentOS 7
Hi,
Over the past weeks, I've configured and fine-tuned a bells-and-whistles
desktop based on CentOS 7 and KDE, which I've documented in detail on my
blog:
* https://www.microlinux.fr/poste-de-travail-entreprise-centos-7-kde/
So far I have one single thing that's not working. It's a little detail,
but I'm sure it will come bite me, since I know some of my users need

incomming call rejected using IAX2 with FWD
Hi,
I cannot seem to accept incoming calls from FWD using IAX2. I followed the
directions posted at www.fwd.pulver.com/advanced/iax I can make outgoing
calls fine using IAX via FWD. When someone calls me from FWD I get the
following message:
Chan_iax2.c:5251 socket_read: Reject connect attempt from

Any ideas?
Thanks,

Confused about NAT and Authentication with FWD
I have recently started experimenting with Asterisk. I am running the system the other side of the a NAT router and trying to connect to FWD. I have opened UDP ports and have configured sip.conf to handle NAT.
The problem:
I can call from the FWD phone and the extension on Asterisk rings and there is two way sound so no problem.
Now if in the extension.conf file I have,
