iSCSI target in CentOS 4?
Hi List, I've started looking into iSCSI, and I'm wondering if there is an iSCSI target (I've found the initiator in iscsi-initiator-utils) that ships with CentOS, or if not, what the recommended target would be. I'd like to export either a partition or (preferably) a file-as-a-partition. Yours, -S -- Simen Thoresen, Wulfkit Support, Dolphin ICS

Dom0 lvm/software raid rhel4.1 booting issues.
Basically the issue comes down to my Volume Groups not being found by this initrd, causing good ole kernel panic. initrd-2.6.12.6-xen3_12.1_rhel4.1.img [root@xen01 lvm]# uname -a Linux xen01.inside.***.com 2.6.9-22.0.2.ELsmp #1 SMP Thu Jan 5 17:13:01 EST 2006 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux [root@xen01 lvm]# cat /etc/redhat-release Red Hat Enterprise Linux ES release 4 (Nahant Update 2) Everything

Pxelinux image filename oddity?
Hello Sir, (This applies to the RH8.0 supplied syslinux 1.75-3 and the upgraded tftp-server-0.32-1 from RH Rawhide) I'm having fun remotebooting my ViA EPIA box (an ITX form-factor 800MHz ViA C3 semi-embedded pc), and have landed on pxeboot as the 'best tool for the job'. Right now I have it working, but the documentation found elsewhere on the web has confused me. Specifically,

Centos locking up system with mptscsih driver error
I have a Tyan Tiger S2466 MPX motherboard with Dual Atlon MP 2800+ CPUs and 1GB PC2100 DDR SDRAM. For disk drive I have an LSI53C1030 and 4 Seagate ST336607LWs in a software raid 5 configuration. I installed Centos 4.1 and everything was fine running kernel-smp-2.6.9-11.EL. However when I upated to Centos 4.2 I have run into problems. Namely after a finite amount of disk traffic the system

CentOS-5 - kmod-gfs dependency issue?
Hi all, I'm wondering if I'm running into some dependency issues on my CentOS5 test-machines. I've installed with a fairly minimal package set, updated, removed old kernels and am now experimenting with iscsi and gfs. I think I need kmod-gfs to get gfs -support, but there is only a version that suits the base-kernel, 2.6.18-8.el5. " [root at node02 ~]# yum install kmod-gfs

Yum upgrade to 4.4 problem
CentOS 4.3 (SMP, x86_64, Athlon64 X2) with all pre-4.4 release updates applied. Since I ran into the Yum issue at the previous upgrade, I first did yum upgrade to get the list of packages (6 to install, 206 to update). I then did yum upgrade yum (which passed without issues) yum upgrade sqlite (which passed without isseus). Fairly certain that yum now works correctly, I wanted to just do

Problems exporting a PCI device to a domU...
Hi! I am trying to export a PCI device (an AVM Fritzcard PCI ISDN card...) to a domU but when starting my domU I am getting this error: "pciback pci-4-0: 22 Couldn''t locate PCI device (0000:00:06.0)! perhaps already in-use?" My system is running both debian etch in dom0 and domU... Below you can find (hopefully) all important information... Sincerely, Gaubatz Patrick

Asus M3A78-EMH HDMI NCQ-issues
Hi all, I'm sure this eventually will be resolved with a BIOS or kernel update, but in case someone experiences this on this or a similar motherboard, I thought I'd post a problem-and-workaround report. Platform CentOS5, x86_64 kernel-2.6.18-53.1.21.el5 Motherboard Asus M3a78-EMH HDMI SATA-controller configured as AHCI Experienced symptom; Periodic, ~20s lockups/freezes, several a

r8169-driver CentOS5.2
Hi all, Another FYI-mail (and just to verify that I'm not going insane here); I recently purchased an ASUS M3A78-EMH HDMI -board with a tri-core Phenom. This is a small uATX-board with all the garnish integrated motherboards are supposed to come with, and fairly well supported in CentOS 5 and other modern distros. When I installed it (~2 months ago) the NIC was not supported; Ethernet

Fujitsu RX200 S3
Alle, I am trying to install CentOS 5 on a Dual Xeon 5160 FJ RX200 S3. The RAID hardware is an internal LSI MPT 1068 SAS/RAID controller (LSI 1068SASIME-2300). I have downloaded the drivers (mptsas, mptscsih and mptbase) and created the required floppy. When I run linux dd after booting from either the DVD or Disk 1 of the CentOS distro, it says it loads mptsas, mptbase and mptscsih and

CentOS 4.4 - added disk prevents system from booting past initrd
Hi people, I ran into one of these silly issues I'd like to share as I think the reason behind it may be a flaw in the current initrds. The setup; Dual-Xeon Intel-chipset motherboard. SATA-disk attached to ICH, onboard Adaptec SCSI-controller. Installed system, updated packages, no problems. Basic, non-LVM partition setup - OS-disk is /dev/sda, single filesystem-partition /dev/sda1 is

Xen Dom0 with FibreChannel (FC) can''t export disk to DomU
Hello all, I have a problem with Xen and FibreChannel. The Dom0 can''t export a Disk on a FibreChannel SAN-Box to the DomU''s. In the DomU configuration I try: disk = [ ''phy:/dev/sdb1,/dev/sda1,w'' ] or disk = [ ''file:/mnt/sambashare.img,sda1,w'' ] sambashare.img is a 512MB great Diskimage on a Partition on the FC-SAN-Box, the Dom0 mount this

Xen and ReiserFS
I am unable to boot Dom0 on a machine with Reiser file systems. Reiser support is built into the xen0 kernel. I have similar setup with ext3 file systems working just fine, so I don''t think it is a setup problem. I have tried booting with and without and initrd file, booting with the original Linux distro initrd file, etc, but nothing seems to work. I recall seeing a thread about ReiserFS

Intermittent problem, likely disk IO related - mptscsih: ioc0: attempting task abort!
