DECT SIP phones
Hi folks:
I know it's come up a few times before, but I need some more detail.
I'm looking for a SIP DECT (cordless) phone for North American
installations. I've heard only of the Siemens Gigaset S450/C450 phones.
Apparently these aren't sold for use in NAm, even though they're
supposed to be legal (in the United States, anyway).
On top of that, I understand they have some

Configuring Softphone
Hi,
I'm trying to get a softphone configured. In Sip.conf [general] I found an example
that said I need:
nat=yes
localnet=192.168.xxx.xxx
Is localnet supposed to be a LAN IP or a WAN IP?
Thank you,
Gary

requirecalltoken and Realtime
Hi,
I've just had to enable the requirecalltoken=no option in iax.conf for
one of my IAX2 trunks, and I don't think it works properly in the
realtime version. I've created the requirecalltoken field in my
(Postgres via ODBC) database, type text, and have variously tried it
with 'yes', 'no' and 'auto' in the field. But the setting never seems
to be used and

Sending Calls via SIP trunk from two different IP addresses from same Asterisk Machine
Hi All;
I can assign for my Asterisk Machine a two IP addresses (xxx.xxx.xxx.yyy and xxx.xxx.xxx.yyz), how can I use these two IP's so I can let one call sent with a source IP address xxx.xxx.xxx.yyy and another call to be sent with another source IP address xxx.xxx.xxx.yyz, I need this because I need the side to authorize my calls by the IP address, and some calls to be authorized with the

Soft SIP phones (with RING !!)
Hi folks,
well the easiest soft phone I have found (from this list) is the x-ten.
great little piece of software.
BUT, on a windows machine I need to plug in a USB device and find the
software to drive it which can actually use a normal handset (similar
to the s100p) but can be used to actually generate/answer the calls and
actually rings when a call is received.
Any ideas ??

Timecondition fallthrough on 2nd GSM Modem, First modem and ZAP's are all fine
Hello,
we have an asterisk (1.4.21.2) with ZAP and mISDN channels, the mISDN are 2 incoming GSM Modems, each with 2 simcards.
No, the mISDN line one and two are fine, but when I get a call on line 3 something with the time is wrong. Timeconditions fall through to off-hours even if the time of the call is clearly inside business hours, here a log excerpt:

Now I am wondering if others are suffering the same problem ??

noticed the problem on x100p's).

snom 100 and GSM codec
Anybody has figured out why asterisk + snom have such bad quality using GSM?
When I use GSM I see such messages dumped on asterisk console:

interesting questions ?
I just had a thought, but haven't tried it yet....
we are able to include one conf file into another...
this leads to the thought can we use the same file to include into
iax.conf as well as sif.conf ?
does the various differences actually have an effect of the application
reading the file ?
or another way....
will nonexisitant controlcommands have an adverse effect....
eg: in SIP.conf

DECT and Asterisk...
Hi folks,
The recent mention of DECT on this list has got me thinking.......
(yeah dangerours!)
I have very little experience/knowledge with DECT and mainly where I
have seen it used in a multibase base situation where handoff between
bases occurr. This has been and ericsson system used as an adjuct to an
ericsson pbx on a large multistorey property.
If I remember correctly the bases are fed 2

STRFTIME function declared in globals context
I'm trying to declare a few date-related global variables to ease my
dialplan. When I declare the following in the [globals] context of
extensions.conf, I get unexpected results:

MONTH = ${STRFTIME(${EPOCH},,%m)}
DAY = ${STRFTIME(${EPOCH},,%d)}
TIMESTAMP = ${STRFTIME(${EPOCH},,%Y%m%d-%H%M%S)}
If I evaluate these variables in the dialplan later, using

almost printing
Ok, I've managed to print to my HPDeskjet 694c attached to a Solaris 8 box
running samba 2.2.2 from Win98. Problem is with the left margin, there are
these little lines (garbage) running down the 1st column on the left side
of the page. Also, when I print a page from Word 97, the whole page doesn't
print (about 95% of it) and starts a little too far down the page. Printing
