sempron 2500+ running at 1044 cpu speed.
I have a desktop unit with a sempron 2500+ to play with. doing "more /proc/cpuinfo" indicates cpu Mhz as1044 not the 2500 I am familiar with cpuspeed. doing ps ax | grep cpuspeed resulting in nothing. I did service cpuspeed start. No errors reported. ps ax | grep cpuspeed resulted in nothing. I was going to do "killall -SIGUSR1 cpuspeed" to attempt to get 2500+ cpu speed. I

-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi I''m currently using xen-3.0.2-testing on several servers. But when xen 3.0.3 was announced I wanted to try it, of course it should have several iprovements and bugfixes, etc. I did the same steps I was previously done in order to compile xen-3.0.2, and in fact xen compiled and installed very cleanly. I created my initrd image and then I

[OT] Memory Models and Multi/Virtual-Cores -- WAS: 4.0 -> 4.1 update failing
From: Maciej ?enczykowski <maze at cela.pl> > That's a good point - does anyone know what the new Intel > Virtualization thingamajig in the new dual core pentium D's is about? It's all speculation at this point. But there are _several_ factors. But I'm sure the first time Intel saw AMD's x86-64/PAE52 presentation, the same thing popped into my mind that popped

OT: Anyone have experience with completelydedicated.com?
Guys, I''m in the market for a reliable, trustworthy dedicated server solution. I''ve been running my own servers internally on a Speakeasy Static IP DSL connection, but recent problems with my local loop has caused me to reconsider this solution. completelydedicated.com offers a value Sempron for $59/monthly...a bit higher than I wish to go but I have no choice. Asterisk + zap + sangoma A104D - how to setup call using particular timeslot
Hi all, I need to setup call using particular timeslot on one of E1's. I've looked into http://www.voip-info.org/wiki/index.php?page=Asterisk+Zap+channels and it says that: exten => TestTrakt,1,Dial(ZAP/1-2/517255333) exten => TestTrakt,2,hangup should work and force call setup via span 1 (port 1) but when I try setup call rasterisk says: -- Executing [TestTrakt at

Current best AMD processor for running mainstream games?
Hi all, I want to buy a processor that will be good for gaming in Wine in FreeBSD. I see that many game engines are starting to take advantage of multi-core systems, however it appears that multi-threaded applications are not distributed properly across multiple cores (Ex: Starcraft II - http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=20882 ). So I'm not sure if I should aim

cpu type
I have a quick question. The board and CPU that I'm using in one of my machines was given to me. I didn't take the time to look up the info on the board or anything. I was busy, so I just put the board in a pc case, hooked everything up, and loaded the os on the machine. I didn't know it at the time, but there's a chance it may be a 64bit board and cpu. I don't

:( Orange Box? Please?
I've heard that it's possible to run Orange Box on WINE. I've tried several tutorials but can't get it to work - I got it all to install, and Steam pops up no problem, but the games crash at the loading screen and bring me back to my desktop. I even tried the original Half-Life - does the same thing. I tried using the command line to see if there would be any error or debug
