speexenc/speexdec doubles file size
this is not really a development question, but i didn't find another
mailing list to ask it.
any idea why size of wav file doubles when it is encoded to speex and
back to wav:
$ ls -ls testi.wav
40 -rw-r--r-- 1 foo foo 40674 May 4 14:38 testi.wav
$ speexenc --denoise --agc --quality 10 testi.wav testi.spx
Encoding 8000 Hz audio using narrowband mode (mono)
$ ls -ls testi.spx

G729 codec for asterisk
Hi there,
Here at my company we are willing to use the asterisk IVR system.
The problem we are having rigth now is that all our GWs use G729.
I've read that in order to asterisk be able to make transcoding from the GSM
audio files to G.729, it is necesary to purchase a license from digium. Is
this correct?
I've seen that licenses are purchased on a per-channel basis. Could

smbclient/mount question
This is driving me up the wall. I've had a basic samba server up for a
couple of years and it was easy to do. Now with a second server I try to
mount the same shares from the new linux box but I can get nothing to
work. I would use NFS between the linux boxes but the support isn't
compiled into my kernel, and I don't want to tackle that beast tonight...
To test I tried the smbclient

[LLVMdev] 'Implementing a language with LLVM' tutorial
Very nice. Here's a couple comments on the first 6 chapters:
http://llvm.org/docs/tutorial/LangImpl1.html
"We handle comments by skipping to the end of the line and then
returning the next comment."
Shouldn't this say "returning the next comment"?

I was a bit confused at first because the AST node classes are called
ASTs.

Asterisk and SNOM 200
Hi,
I have just got my SNOM 200 to start doing some real testing with *..
I am trying to use the GSM codec but the quality is really bad, Is that normal? does anyone actually use GSM??
Also are there any 'gotcha's' that I need to look out for so I don't spend hours trying to get somthing working that really doesn't work anyway..
Thanks..

SIP to H323 call timeout
Hi all,
I have the following setup:
UAs ------------SER ------------------------ ASTERISK
---------------------GNUGK --------------- GWs
SER is configured to route call requests from UAs to Asterisk. Asterisk is
configured to receive the call on SIP channel and dial out to GNUGK over
H323 channel. The problem I'm facing is that asterisk sends out the call
request to GNUGK and times out

Sending call to specific IP address
Hello,
I am wondering how to send a call to a specific IP address that is different
than the host of the URI. For example, an invite to the URI is "
john at phone.com" needs to be sent to the IP address 123.456.789.255, not to
the IP address of phone.com.
How is this done?
Thanks,
Elliot

Rhelp: Need help interpreting plots in spatstat
Hello everybody--
I have been playing with my data in spatstat, and what I'd like to
present is a basic exploratory spatial analysis. I have used the
following code, using a ppp.object called tsdspoints. The code
develops the simulations and the envelopes I want, but I don't
understand my first plot here, the [tsds.ghat.short$r,
tsds.ghat.short$raw]...I cobbled together this code

OT - CID with Asterisk and Betamax
Hi,
sorry for this a bit OT.
I'm using VoiceTrading for some calls -premium route- and can't get CID
to work despite the fact that CALLERID(num) and CALLERID(name) are setted.
I ask in VT->myAccount to accept calls from my IP without checking
username & secret. On incoming calls the CID is setted to 0100000000
If I accept calls from username & secret and no IP relation,

nbtstat doesn't show MAC address for samba servers
On Win9x I issue the command:
nbtstat -a <netbios name>
If <netbios name> is a Win9x machine I got the MAC address of that
machine on the last line of the command output. If it's a samba server
the MAC address is not returned:
MAC Address = 00-00-00-00-00-00
Is there anyone who gest the MAC address back from a samba server?
