Drawing paths through a grid
I would like to draw a set of points that are equally spaced in a 2-D
grid. Then I would like to draw lines that illustrate different
directed paths through subsets of points. Imagine that the points
correspond to booths in a conference center, and I want to show the
various paths people took to visit the booths (using color to
highlight different types of paths). An example path might be: [(1,1),

[LLVMdev] Suggestions for LLVM Developer's Conference 2012
Some other suggestions:
1. It is time for the conference to go to a 2-day format next year, and perhaps have fewer parallel sessions. What was a "meeting" has become a true conference -- several hundred attendees, lots of different kinds of talks, etc. (I have to admit -- it's heartwarming to see the community has grown to this scale!) The costs will be a little higher for the

Hello,
Asterisk and VoIP will again have a presence at SCALE 5x, the 2007 Southern
California Linux Expo this February.
On the exhibit hall floor Trixbox will have a booth demonstrating
their asterisk related products. Additionally, a number of other
open-source projects will be using Asterisk as part of their demos.
The event will be held on Feb 10th and 11th at the Los Angeles Airport

Spring VON Wrap Up
Having just returned from four days at the VON show in Santa Clara, I
thought I would submit a "highlights" message. I hope others who attended
the show will take the opportunity to add, as there was far more to see than
I can cover on my own.
[VoIP IS BIG]
First, I have to say that VoIP is BIG. It is the buzz technology of the
day. The show was packed, and everybody there was there

Open Source Pavilion at AstriCon: Your project wanted!
Each year at AstriCon, we have an Open Source Pavilion which showcases
projects which are adjuncts to Asterisk, or which are directly
relevant to improving the utility and features of Asterisk. It gives
smaller projects the chance to have some space to display what they're
doing, and to give demonstrations to the AstriCon attendees who are
interested in some of the things happening

I write about R every weekday at http://blog.revolution-computing.com

particular interest to R users.

Before switching to dovecot deliver for all local deliveries, I'm

OT: remote power cycling
I'm in a situation where I'm going to have to deploy a rack of servers
in an unmanned location in another country. On rare occasions, I've had
systems that would not recover gracefully from a warm reboot and needed
the power cycled. Years ago, I had such a device from APC, but haven't
needed one in a long time since all my locations are staffed. I'd

[asterisk-dev] Astricon 2008 updates: keynotes, content, contests
Astricon is only 54 days away! If you're not
booked, please take a moment to register for the
conference, get your hotel room, and get your
plane tickets before things fill up and/or get
expensive. This is a great opportunity to meet
other developers, users, and members of the
Asterisk ecosystem, and I encourage everyone to
attend. While there are great things to be said

Wiki state
Hello,
I would like to understand how come the wiki seems to so deprived of
attention. I am trying to research XCP for example and a lot of the
links point to pages that don''t exist etc.
Is the documentation team under-staffed?
Is there some other resource that has become the de-facto place to go
when wanting documentation?
Thank you for your time,
Remember -- I am only trying to

Tinc config
Hi
I have got Tinc working on two Windows PCs that are both behind NAT
firewalls - I want to backup files from one to the other across a VPN and
Tinc looks perfect for this. Even though I have Tinc working, I am a little
confused by the configuration which makes me think maybe I have something
wrong which may mean my VPN is not secure.
My confusion concerns the host file for the local PC and

As has been mentioned, fail2ban does this.
However, the reason you want a password that is not easily bruteforced
has nothing to do with this,

Statistical Software Prize
Dear colleagues:
This summer, the ASA will award a new prize for statistical software.
This note is to encourage you to apply or nudge someone you know to

The award is for software that contributes to better use of computing
in statistical research and applications, written while the applicant
was a student. There is a $1,000 prize plus the opportunity to give

disk drive sparing - questions not answers
I understand that ZFS provides fault data, via the zpool status command,
that would (probably ??) allow a knowledgeable[0] zfs admin to determine
(manually) when a zfs hardware element (today that''s usually called a "disk
drive") might need "maintainence" or might need to be replaced. And there
are sufficient features/facilities available in the current (b36+) release
